Had to drop the car off at Mazda this morning for service.  Susanna picked me and we went to Farmboy to get some breakfast.  I got the same as yesterday, but whole wheat pitas because the white pitas were sold out.  Made wraps again.

Got a Strawberry McShake for a snack.  It was OK.  It started to taste like coffee and chocolate halfway through.  I don't think they clean the machine very well.

Wasn't too hungry at lunch today so I got something small at the Rico Peru truck.  I got a beef skewer with half a potato and coleslaw for $5.  It tasted good, but $5 is alot for this small thing.

Useless Softball News:
Awesome game tonight vs Beerfeasters for the season ending game.  We won in the slugfest 33-32!  It was 29-29 after 5 inning before both team's defences started to kick in (we sorely missed Marc and Jeno who were unable to play tonight).  The Strike Fighters finished the regular season with 11 wins and 9 losses.
I was hitting 4-for-4 after 4 innings with 3 singles and 1 double.  Why did I stop after 4 innings?  On my last at-bat, before I hit my last single, I line the ball with a full swing straight down onto my big toe!  When I got back to the bench, blood was soaking through my sock and shoe.

Tanya bandaged up my toe (Thanks Tanya!), but she said the nail might fall off later, as it was already turning black and blue.  I hope it doesn't fall off.  I hope I can play the playoffs next week too!

Breakfast today -> Farmboy Breakfast Bar.
Went to Farmboy before going to work this morning.  I picked up some scramble eggs, bacon, sausages, perogies and few veggies from the Breakfast Bar.  I also got a pack of pita wraps.  I made breakfast wraps throughout the day to snack on.  It was easy.  1 pita wrap filled with eggs, 1 slice of bacon, and 1 sausage.

Useless Gaming News:
Won my 1st game of Dominion in months of playing it lunchtime today.  It was still close between me and James, but I had my deck churning early and was buying a Province almost every turn I had.  Transmogrify was my main card, which I only had 3 of.  The key was it put the transmogrified card into my had to use right way, which was usually Gold.

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strike Fighters played Rockwell Collins tonight.  I think we lost 17-13 (I don't recall the final score).  We lost it in one inning where we gave up 7 runs.  They were just hitting into our holes in the field.  Our record is now 10-9 with 1 regular season game left on Wednesday.
We scored alot of runs today, but I only had 2 at-bats.  Both times I was the lead-off batter and both times I hit triples.  I also made 2 plays at the plate tonight with a couple good throws from Sean and Marc.  We got the out both times.

I had to go back to CMC after the game to get some work done, so I picked up Subway for dinner.  Got my usual cold-cut trio and downed it with a Coke.

Weekend Report: Street Full of PokeLured PokeStops.

Food this weekend ->
Took Friday off work.  Just because.  Slept in and then went to get some groceries.  Saw Linda, Everett, and Katie at Superstore.  I was there to get breakfast food for my lunch.  Made myself some hotdogs and eggs with fresh baguette and grape tomatoes on the side.  I was looking for breakfast sausages, but hotdogs were on sale.

Made leftover stew with stuff in the fridge.  I boiled some chicken drumsticks, in water with a couple red potatoes and half a spanish onion (over 1 month old in the fridge and was still good.).  I also added some fresh corn kernels off the cob, white pepper, salt, garlic powder, and the secret ingredient: 1 pack of chicken ramen flavouring.  Boiled it for about 20 mins to make sure the chicken was cooked (it was beginning to turn).

Went to the Corny Dog with Ben and Brian on Saturday night before gaming.  I got the Combo #3: 1 personal poutine, 4 cinnaballs, and a pop for $10.  So I got a Piggy's Gone Wild, 4 cornballs (mini pogos because the cinnaballs were sold out), and a ginger ale.  The personal poutine was huge!!!  Seems like you get more if you eat there, because my to go portions are not that big.  I couldn't finish it and had to ask for a box too.  The cornballs were very good.  I got a garlic dip for them.

Went for Dim Sum with Gen and her friends at Chu Shing.  We got the table 2nd furthest from the kitchen.  That meant alot of the trolleys got emptied before getting to us.  We were there almost 2 hrs before we were full.  Sorry no pics.  As the food came down, it was destroyed.
While we were there the whole time, someone activated PokeLures on all the PokeStops on Somerset.  I was lucky that 3 stops are near our table at Chu Shing.  I got alot of Pokemon including some water one, but we weren't near water.

Got some "ground cherries" from Lori.  She grew some in her garden.

I've seen these before at Farmboy, but I didn't know what to do with them or how to eat them.  Apparently you just peel back the leaves, wipe any dirt and eat it.

Useless Gaming News:
We played a couple good games at Brian's on Saturday.  We started with Internal Affairs.  It's a quick guessing game where you try to find who is on your side and figure out the enemy's code numbers to eliminate them.  We played the 2-4 player variant which doesn't involve ID cards that the 5-8 player normal game has.  I was still fun, and I picked up a copy on Sunday at Comic Book Shoppe.

We also played Star Trek Panic.  We thought it would be easy like Castle Panic, but it is way harder and complex, but fun.  I'll probably get it too.  The objective is to complete missions while protecting the USS Enterprise from Klingon and Romulan attack.  We didn't finish our game.  We were getting pounded and the Enterprise got crippled with no shields left.  I also had to leave to get home to watch AKB48 on Music Station, but when I was watching it, their performance was cut and the show ended 20 minutes early!?!  They'll be on again next week.

Lunch today -> Souvlaki Pita.
Food Truck Wednesday today.  I got my lunch from the Greek truck.  I decided to get a chicken souvlaki pita.  I've had their platters before and it was good, but I've never had thier pitas.  It was very good.  Inside was chicken lettuce, onion, tomato, tzatziki, and french fries.  It was fairly large, but I was still peckish for more when I finished it.

Social committee had Watermelon Day today.  It was supposed to be Aug 3, but too many people were on vacation and we had just had lollipop day recently, so we moved to today.  I chopped up 2 "seedless" watermelons.  They were mostly seedless, but there were still some black seeds in them.  Very sweet though.

KFC gave away some "Extra Crispy Sunscreen" in the US.  It's already all gone.  The side effects at the bottom of the site is hilarious.  They sure want to make sure people don't eat it.

Got some blind box "Alt-Modes" Transformers the other day at Walmart.  They are pretty neat.  Basically you have the big head of the transformer with a mini vehicle mode under it.  On top of the big head is the faction shield.  You pull the faction shield and the mini vehicle flips in and the robot mode flips out instantly.

Useless Softball News:
Strike Fighters played Saved by the Balls tonight in a rematch.  We lost in a close game 14-12.  We took an early 9-0 lead, but then giving up 8 runs in the 2nd inning cost us.  We were pretty much "3 up and 3 down" for hitting after that.  We also lost Gary when he took a hard line drive into his pitching hand.  It was super loud when he got hit.  His hand started to swell up right away and the ball's stitch marks were imprinted in his hand!
I hit 2-for-3 tonight: single, fielder's choice, and triple.

After the game, Marc and I went to Big Bone BBQ so I could pick up the Monday Special.  It was so good.  The ribs I got this time was abit on the fatty side, but they had so much flavour :)  Also they had a good smokey flavour.  I was disappointed abit with the poutine.  It needed abit more gravy.

Weekend Report: VYE

Food this weekend ->
Made a steak stir-fry on Friday for Dinner.  I was sliced steak, with portobello mushrooms and sugar snaps.

On Saturday, I pan steamed a turbot.  I cooked the fish with just oyster sauce, ginger powder, and soy sauce.

Sunday, I made chicken rice for lunch.  Just put the chicken drumsticks on the rice in the rice cooker.  Topped it with some salt and press "Start".

With the some of the leftover rice and chicken, I made butter chicken rice just by adding a few spoons of butter chicken sauce and mixing it all together.

Useless Gaming News:
4-Player gaming at Brian's house on Saturday night.  We played "VYE" to start.  It's a very good game that is short.  Probably on my "to buy list" now.  It's a simple game of playing 1 card a turn to try and capture as much area as you can.  Similar to Othello, but up to 5 players.

We then played "Sixes".  It's a fun word matching/not matching party game.  Another game to add to my "to buy list".  After Gordon left; we played Turbulance.  It's an OK game.  I already own it and it was a throw-in for a KickStarter game.

Played boardgames late into the night on Thursday at Anthony's.  We started with 5 player "For Sale", Telestrations, and Mysterium.  First time play Mysterium.  It's pretty good, but it takes abit of time for the ghost player to figure out what to hand out.  Alot of waiting time.  I like the game.

Food trucks today.  I got Pulled Pork Poutine from Big D's.  It was alot of food in this order.  It was good, but I prefered last week's Boom Boom Chicken more.

Someone brought it some chips from a brand I've never seen before.  The flavours were Lobster and Donair.  The lobster one was OK.  It had the taste of lobster shell and sea salt.  I did like to donair one.  It did taste like donair.

Made one of the discount steaks for dinner.  Just pan fried with salt and pepper.  I also cooked 1 pack of the Portobello mushrooms for a side  Was going to make rice too, but thought this was enough, and it was.

Got a package today from Toys R Us.  I got a big box full of Titans Return Transformers.  I got Blaster, Powermaster Prime, Skullsmasher, Blurr, Scourge, Hardhead, Rewind, and Stripes.  I'm only missing Wheelie.

Snack today -> Triscuits with Red Pepper and Garlic Jelly
Jordon brought in this red pepper and garlic jelly for a treat today.  We ate it on Triscuits.  It was very good.  He got the jelly from the Carp garlic-fest.  I might have to go get some myself this weekend.

Our softball game got rained out today, but I still went out and got wet in the rain doing some shopping.  Picked up a 3 meat hot 'n' ready pizza from Little Ceasar's for dinner.  It was good but kind of too salty.  I wanted a Canadian, but they didn't have any ready.

After I picked up the pizza, I went to Loblaws on the way home to see what was on sale.  I found lots of stuff.  I got discount mushrooms, cheese & pepperoni sticks, and even steak on sale.  It was all 50% off!  I'll be eating a steak and mushroom dinner tomorrow :)

Picked up the new Sailor Moon Crystal DVD part 1 that was released today.  I haven't watched any of the episodes before, but I'll probably marathon through this box set sometime.  I just started watching Soul Eater and it's pretty good.  I want to finish that first.

Meet Gordon at the Gaming Garage Sale at the Nepean Sportsplex on Saturday.  There were way more people there at 9am than I expected.  The line was atleast 100 people long before got to the end of it.
Picked up Flick'em Up wooden boardgame and Lego Patty and Selma from Lego Simpsons Series 2.  Still missing Moleman and Maggie.

Picked up some T&T 4-item combo after the garage sale.  I got tofu curds, general tao chicken, spicy green beans, and salt & pepper porkchops.  I got the fish maw soup with it again.  It's just that good.  I also got a large sweet & sour pork.  That was on special.

Useless Gaming News 2:
Played No Man's Sky alot this weekend.  I traded enough items on the space station to get alot of money: over 9 million units.  I bought the biggest ship I could get (30 slots).  Then I went searching a couple of planets.  I was able to upgrade my multi-tool to 22 slots and the exo-suit with 29 slots.  I uncovered alot of the Vy'keen history and language.
I'm also feeding the animals I find on the planets.  Why?  So I can collect their poop.  They sometimes drop rare minerals that I need to upgrade.  Sometimes to poop is bigger than the creature itself!

Lunch today -> T&T and Franks
Took a vacation day today.  Went to T&T in the morning to get more sweet shrimps.  I also picked up a 4-item combo meal.  I got general tao chicken, tofu curds, garlic chives, and pork belly with white rice.  I also upgraded the soup to fish maw soup.
Afterwards I went to Frank's to get some #1s and some sausage rolls.

I picked up No Man's Sky for PS4.  This is my type of game.  It's an open world survival game where you explore random planets and do anything you want.  There isn't anything you have to do in the game, but explore.

I've only played 4hrs so far and I've only left my first planet once.  I came back to it because I wanted to explore another part of the planet and see what else I could get.  Plus I want to get a new ship.  Mine is too slow and needs more cargo space.  My planet is a nice 20C in the day.  But at night it gets hotter to 47C?

Susanna and I went to T&T tonight.  We split a big box of cooked frozen sweet shrimp for $10.  We tried a few by defrosting them in a bowl of water, and these shrimp are so sweet!  I'm going back on Thursday to get another box... maybe 2?

Picked up Blaster for Gordon at Walmart.  He was mis-priced at $30.  Hopefully they will get more Blasters and Primes so I can pick them up at that good price too.

No SDCC Magic Set This Year

The SDCC Magic set went on sale today at 11am on the Hasbro site.  Due to my laggy connection at work, I wasn't able to buy it as it sold out really fast.  I should have worked from home this morning to order from my home computer.  Too bad.  Would have been a nice set to have.

2nd game in 2 nights.  The Strike Fighters lost to Save by the Balls 24-8 (I think, or 24-10?).  They are a good team, but very cocky.  They should probably play in a higher division.
We broke our 6 game winning streak and Jeff lost his home run streak.
I hit 0-for-3 tonight (like most ), but got 2 sacrifice RBIs.

Got a bunch of new Transformers at Centrum Walmart today.  I got the 1st wave of Titan Masters and the recently released Rumble, Ravage, and Laserbeak.

Useless Softball News:
Another win tonight for the CMC Strike Fighters.  We defeated Edge-Kut'rz 12-9 in an intense game.  We played on an off-night so we had to find 3 spares to fill the lineup.  They did really well.  Jeff also continued his homerun hitting streak with another one tonight in a very deep field.
I hit 3-for-4 tonight: Fly-out in deep center field, Triple, Single, and Single.  Much better than my last game.

Weekend Report: Insomnia

Not getting much sleep this weekend.  Not sure why I couldn't sleep?  I think I got 2 hrs on Friday night and maybe 4 hrs on Saturday night.

Food this weekend ->
Bought a whole rainbow trout from Sobeys.  I pan fried it in olive oil for a minute with some oyster sauce and ginger powder on top.  I then poured some water in and covered it to steam for 15 minutes.

I finished it by flipping it over to fry for a couple minutes and poured on some soy sauce.  I came out pretty good.  Not too many bones in it too.

Made some spaghetti in meat sauce on Sunday.  Add in some leftover sour cream into the meat sauce that was a month over the expiry date.  It still tasted fine to me.
