Christmas Dinner 2011

Christmas Dinner at parent's house was hotpot!

^ Christmas Hotpot.

^ Desserts.
I like Jane's peanut butter cookies the most :)

I'm also into these sweet mini oranges called "Sugar Rock". I got 3 boxes from Sobey's for $5.

^ Sugar Rock Mandarins.

Jane, Susanna, Ben and I played some new board games. We played Wasabi (forgot to take pic) and Castle Panic. "Wasabi" is a pretty good strategy game, while "Castle Panic" is a really fun team-multiplayer luck and card game.

We also watch this show called "Dumbest Stuff on Wheels". Videos of people doing stupid stuff in cars, skateboards, and other wheeled things. The best was all the groin shots :) LOL

Merry Christmas!!!

MERRY
CHRISTMAS!!!

^ Music Station Super Live 2011 - AKB48 (Kaze wa Fuiteiru, Everyday Kachuusha, Flying Get).
I thought it was cool how the girls got the whole arena to do the wave. Way better than the ones at the Sens games.

Bacon Wrapped Filets

FYI: I may not be posting everyday from now until the new year.

Food today ->
I baked some M&M Meats stuff I had in my freezer. First I baked some "Mini Bacon Wrapped Filets". These little suckers are so good! The steak was really tender.

^ Mini Bacon Wrapped Filets.

I baked some "Onion Petals" afterwards. They're alright. They taste just like onion rings, but not as good. Might be better if these were deep fried.

Karaoke Battle

FYI: My rogers email down for 48hrs. Through a long string of events it got cancelled Monday. It will hopefully be re-activated by Thursday. Contact me through my yahoo email if needed.

Dinner today -> Chicken Eggrolls.
I got a bag of 30 Chicken Eggrolls from Giant Tiger for $10. I made a batch of 10. They're pretty tasty and cheap!

^ Chicken Eggrolls.

Useless Japan News:
The song list for this year's Kohaku was announced. Check it out here. I wonder if the Red Team can win this year?

Useless Idol News:
I played Skyrim til 4am Monday night, then I got on my computer to stream live AKB48's Kokaku Karaoke Battle event on Google+ (6pm JST = 4am EST). It was Takamina's Red Team vs Yuko's White Team. The team members sang live to AKB songs with non-standard members singing the songs.

It kicked off with Sasshi's version of "Dear J" for the White Team. It was good for Sasshi.

^ "Dear J" Sasshi Version.

The captain's battle was good. Takamina did a ballad version of "Beginner", and Yuko sang Takamina's song, "Itoshisa no Accel".

^ "Beginner" Takamina Version.

^ "Itoshisa no Accel" Yuko Verison.

Final Results:
- White Team wins from Movie Theatre votes
- White Team wins from Google+ votes. (I voted Red Team)
- White Team wins from Audience votes.
- White Team wins from Judge's votes.

This live concert was worth staying up for, and it was 3hrs 40mins long too. Too bad I didn't realize til afterwards that if I switched to different Google+ members I can get different camera angles.

Happy Birthday Minus1!!!

Finished Christmas Shopping

I'm on vacation this week and I finally completed my Christmas shopping today.
It's only Dec 19 and the line-ups at the cash registers were nuts! The parking at Place d'Orleans was pretty busy for 10:30am on a Monday, but the Trainyard's parking traffic was insane! Barrhaven was pretty busy too.
The only shopping I have left is at Costco and T&T for fresh food. I may hit Walmart or Superstore at 2am for deals, since they are open 24hrs now.

Useless Transformers News:
I got in the mail today, Encore Devastator. It think it got released quite awhile ago, but it took this long to get to me.

^ Devastator.

Useless Idol News:
I was up to 4am Sunday night playing Skyrim. My original plan was to stay up to 5am and watch AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, and no3b perform on Hey Hey Hey! Christmas Special (streaming live from Japan), but I fell asleep at 4:30am (right after Gargoyles on Disney XD ch216).

Weekend Report: Lobster Overload

This weekend was all about eating, sleeping, and playing Skyrim :)

Food this weekend ->
I picked up 3 live 2lb lobsters from Sobey's at lunch time on Friday, and the slaughter began Friday night.
The first guy I boiled in salty water and with some garlic powder and leftover onion. He twitched quite abit when I dropped him in.

^ Lobster #1.
I was surprised that the 1 lobster I ate was enough to satisfy me for the whole meal. Maybe because it took me an hour to eat?
I got all the meat out of the lobster too, including the meat behind the eyeballs and the string of meat in the antennas :)

^ Lobster #1 Remains.

The lobster boxes didn't fit in my fridge, so I stored the other 2 lobsters overnight in the garage covered in wet newspaper. This helped them stay alive til Saturday, when I ate those guys for lunch and dinner :)

^ Lobster #2 and #3.
I think I'm all lobstered out for the rest of the year :)

I made pancakes from the instant mix bottle from the dollar store I got awhile back. They turned out pretty good. I got 14 pancakes out of the bottle.
I made 2 stacks, covered them with syrup, added a big blob of apple pie jam (from the Stittsville flea market), and a blob of butter. Good stuff :)

^ Dollar Store Pancakes.

Also made a Shepard's pie I got from Giant Tiger. It was 2 huge platters for only $10.

Seafood Sale

Happy (Belated) Birthday Charin!!!
Sorry, haven't been looking at my calendar recently.

Starting this Friday at Sobey's, there is a Lobster sale and Jumbo Shrimp sale.

^ Lobster and Shrimp Ad.
Last time the lobster went on sale, I went after work to get some and they were already all sold out. This time I'm going just before lunch time to get some :) I'm in the mood to destroy some lobsters this weekend.

Lunch today -> Supreme Pizza.

^ Supreme Pizza.

Went to T&T last night and almost bought out all of these super good Japanese cookie gift boxes. They are so good and T&T only carrys them around Christmas. They are expensive, but worth it.
