Strike Fighter's Win Again!

Another softball game for the CMC Strike Fighters, and another tick in the WIN Column :) We won 27-6 tonight. There were a few questionable calls, but we didn't argue them as we had a huge lead at the time.
There were also a ton of mosquitoes at the diamond too. They must have had a feast on the players. I got about 5 bites on my legs, a couple on my back, 1 on my temple, and 2 on my left butt cheek @_@.

I bought a basket of Baby Portabella Mushrooms from T&T on Saturday. It was only $3.99 and included a nice basket. I'm not sure how I want to cook them yet, but I need to do so soon. Anyone have any suggestions??? Maybe I'll fill the mushrooms with Brie cheese, top them with chopped bacon strips, and finish them on the BBQ?

Weekend Report

Friday:
Skipped work today by using another vacation day. I think I'm down to 4 weeks and 3 days now? Went shopping and got a couple of shirts and some groceries.

Lunch today -> Roast Beef Sandwiches and Lemonade.
I got a jug of Lemonade from Farmboy that was made by Orange Maison. After I ate, I immediately went back and got 2 more jugs of lemonade. It's that good. It tastes like lemon-lime aide, but with a perfectly balanced sweet to sourness ratio.

^ Roast Beef Sandwiches and Lemonade.

Dinner today -> Beef and Chinese Greens.
I had some chinese greens sitting the fridge for the past week and I needed to use them before they go bad.

^ Beef and Chinese Greens.

Saturday:

Got some more "Weed-B-Gone" today. This stuff is awesome. I shot it on a whole bunch of dandelions on my lawn, and a few hours later, the whole plant turns black!

Dinner today -> Beef Stew.
I used 4 marrow-filled beef bones to make it. Made with stewing beef, organic carrots, white mushrooms, and red potatoes. The key this time was to add a pack of dashi to flavour the broth when boiling the beef. The dashi adds alot of flavour. Also stirring in a couple of eggs at the end, thickens the stew.

^ Beef Stew on Rice.

Sunday:
Not much going on today. I planned to wake up early to do a few things so I set my iphone alarm for 7am. I got up at 7am, did some farming on "Farm Story" app, banked some money in all the Storm 8 games, drank a cup of tea, and then went straight back to sleep :)
I got up again at 11:30am because I had to pee :) Totally wasted 1/2 the day.

I then wasted the rest of the afternoon on YouTube, watching all the TV shows that AKB48 appeared on during the weekend. I think they were on about 7 TV shows, and performed "Ponytail to ShuShu" on most of them.

^ Here's the ending to "Hexagon Quiz II", where they lost and had to do the punishment. LOL
(ripped from YouTube)

Useless Baseball News:
I now have a 10 game streak in Beat the Streak. 46 more hits til I get $3,000,000US.
I also now lead Team Bacon with the longest streak. My rank in #1053 in the world :)

^ Beat the Streak Leader and Fongpay Ranking.
Looks like Will and one other need to remember to make their daily picks. James is not far behind me with a current streak of 6 too.

Useless Idol News:
Got a package on Friday from HMV Japan. It was my "Ponytail to ShuShu" CDs (version A and B), HMV Bonus (Yuko and Mariko Photo), and AKB48 Election Guide Book.
The CDs come with election tickets to vote for your favorite member to appear in the next single's video. I used 1 ticket to vote for Yuko. I wanted to vote for Kasai with the 2nd, but I couldn't remember what her name looks like in Japanese. I'll have to look it up and do it later.
The CDs also come with Handshake tickets with cool holograms on them. Apparently there were alot of counterfeit tickets for the last CD's Handshake event, so I guess they had to add the holograms.

^ My AKB48 Stuff from HMV Japan.

If you have Roger's Japan TV: Monday's Music Japan is the All Idol Special (on at 12:10am). Idol groups include Morning Musume, Idoling!!!, and AKB48 will be performing.

Thursday of Sword Blade Catching!!!

I didn't turn on my computer all day today! Only turned it on to make this post, check an email from Gavin, and to pay my Rogers bill.

I also took today off from work. Just because I can :)

Ran some errands at Comic Book Shoppe, T&T, Toys R Us, Walmart, Canadian Tire, and FarmBoy.
I noticed that there are alot of scary bad drivers out there during the day. An asian lady in a mini-van almost sideswiped me! She didn't shoulder check to change lanes or signal! Due to my Mario Kart reflexes, I survived the day :) I should have shot past her, and finish her off with a banana peel ;)

Saw some neat new RC Helicopters at TRU. Almost bought the new SharpShooter Helicopter. It can fire missiles! But it's $50. I'll wait for it to go on sale for $20.

^ RC Sharpshooter Helicopter.

^ RC UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter.
Doesn't quite look like the Black Hawk I worked on..., but it's on sale for $20.

In the afternoon, I did some yard work, mowed the lawn, and almost used up a bottle of Weed-B-Gone on my weeds.
My Lilac plant is blooming well.

^ Lilac Blossoms.

Useless Idol News:
Gavin and Emi got me a copy of "Ponytail to ShuShu" from Tower Records in Osaka. Gavin sent me a pic of the bonus: a photo of Yuko and Mayu.

^ Tower Records Bonus.

I watched this week's AKBingo! today. They played dodgeball and most of the punishments were hilarious. A recommended watch! Highlights include: Sword Blade Catching, Larvae Omelet Rice, Smelly Tofu, and Sucking on a Lemon. I laughed so hard watching the sword catching punishment! It was epic!
Torrent it here (704x396) or here (1280x720).

UFO Catcher Machines

We played 4 innings in our Strike Fighter's softball game, before it was cancelled due to lightning today. I think we could have finished the game, but people decided to reschedule the game.

Useless Japan Stuff:
Gavin sent me some pics of some UFO Catcher Machines he saw in Japan. Check these cool arcade machines out:

^ Gourmet Cake Slices UFO.

^ "Yogurt Cups" UFO.

^ Fake Chinese Buns UFO.
FYI: Gavin says it feels and smells like custard bun.

^ Horned Beetles UFO.

^ Fugu (Puffer Fish).
If I had a way to bring this back home, I would play this UFO until I won some of these fish. I think they are so cool. I'm not sure how I would clean the tank though... if they prick me, they would poison me?

Useless Idol News:
AKB48's new single "Ponytail to ShuShu" is released today. People should buy it or download it. I think it's a great idol song.
I'm waiting for my CDs in the mail from HMV Japan. The HMV 1st press bonus is photo of Mariko and Yuko :)
I'm hoping the copy that Gavin and Emi are getting for me includes a photo of Kasai... sorry Steve/Stefano... I mean Mistress Kasai :)

BTW: I decided not to post the video for Ponytail. The first couple of minutes is complete fan-service, and I don't think it is very appropriate for my blog. You can watch it here, or search for it on youtube (6:35 version). Note the strategic placement of things that block the viewers view. LOL

Back to Work Tuesday

Played a Strike Fighter's Softball game today in the insane +37 degrees heat. We were losing 12-13 at the bottom of the last inning (7th for our softball league), and we came back and won 14-13! We are now 3-0 this season!
We got another game on Wednesday in forecasted +38 degrees heat.

Useless Idol news:
I dropped my AKB48 Weekly Calendar today while changing weeks, and ripped out one of the pages! It's not mint condition anymore... :(

AKB48 (almost all members) was on SMAPxSMAP Monday. They sang a medley with SMAP and called themselves SMAKB53. They performed mini versions of River, Iiwake Maybe, Aitakatta, Oogoe Diamond, and Ponytail to ShuShu. Not a bad mix performance.

^ SMAKB53 (FYI: Short interview before performance.)

Holiday Monday Heat

It was hot today in the house. Outside wasn't too bad, as there was a slight cool breeze. I had my windows open, but the way the wind was blowing, it wasn't going into the house.
I checked the temp of the house around 4pm... It was 27 degrees in the house! I tried toughing it out, but at 7pm I had to turn on the air conditioning; otherwise I don't think I would get any sleep in this heat.

^ +27 Degrees Celsius in the House.

Dinner today -> More Spaghetti and Quail Egg Meatballs. I thought the sauce was to thick yesterday, so I smoothed it out some milk. Made it much better.
After I made it and started eating, I was thinking I should have made cold spaghetti. I would have been more refreshing, than eating hot food in the heat.

Long Weekend Report

Friday:
Went to T&T with Susanna because we were hungry and didn't want to cook dinner. We bought a pile of food, including a couple of large fried Salmon Heads. They were pretty good with decent amount of meat on them. Later that night, I woke up with a really bad stomach ache. Susanna texted me Sat morning that she threw up all night. I think we both had food poisoning :(

Saturday:
Stayed home most of the day, recovering from lack of sleep and watching anime. I finished watching the rest of Code Geass R2. This anime is so good! So many twists and cool mecha battles.

Downloaded Storm8's new app. It's called Farm Story. I'm playing that game alot now. It's so addicting.

Dinner today -> Chow Mein with Beef Flank and Diakon.
Basically separate dishes from T&T and I mixed them together and re-fried them.

^ Chow Mein with Beef Flank and Daikon.

Sunday:
Dinner today -> Spaghetti and Meatballs.
I made the meatballs by mixing both beef and pork together, added seasoning and wasabi, and then stuffed a quail egg in the middle. Fried them up and boiled them in tomato sauce. Good stuff :)

Eva

Dinner today -> Pork and Chives Pot-stickers and Corn. I had plans on making spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner, but I discovered I had no tomato sauce in the house; and I didn't feel like heading out to the store to pick some up. So I steamed up some frozen pot-stickers and the last of my corn.

Useless Japan News:
Another life-size robot is being built in Japan. This time it is Neon Genesis Evangelion's EVA Unit -01 (life-size from the shoulders up). It's being built at Fuji-Q Highland Amusement Park. This is awesome because it's a place I want to go to in Japan. Full article here.

Rice Bowl

I missed today's CMC Strike Fighters softball game today. My left foot is still bothering me. Still some discomfort when I push off it and I can't squat yet (for playing catcher). I hope we win.

Useless Idol News:
Nothing else going on today, so I'll post the live performance of "Ponytail to ShuShu" from today's AKBingo!

^ Ponytail to ShuShu (Short AKBingo! Version).
(Ripped from YouTube)
I noticed in the performance that a few of the girls are sporting new "Rice Bowl" haircuts for their front bangs (ie: Acchan, Yuko, Mariko, Akicha...). Not liking it.

Ritual Doesn't Work

Dinner today -> Lobster and Corn.
MTL is playing PHI today for Game 2. Marc reminded me that I had to eat my ritual Lobster and Corn today, so the Habs will win. I didn't eat it on Sunday and they lost Game 1. I was really in the mood for spaghetti, but it's my ritual.

^ Lobster and Corn; with Fruit.
In the end, it didn't matter. MTL lost again 3-0! I only watched the 1st period. I was watching Code Geass R2 DVDs instead of the game.

My sprinkler broke today. It stopped oscillating. I had to hand water my lawn. Does anyone know if "Yard Works" products from Canadian Tire have a lifetime warranty?

Monday BBQ

Foot still stiff and sore today. It felt better during the day while wearing my running shoes. I guess my foot needs the cushioning and the restrictive movement.

Dinner today -> BBQ
Marinated some Cross-cut Short Ribs in Korean BBQ sauce, and brought it over to my parents house for BBQ. I also got some quail and egg plant for the grill.
I tried to slow cook the quail on the BBQ, but a couple of them caught fire...

^ Quails Before the Fire.

But I had a bigger fire when I put the short ribs on the BBQ! I call it "Flame-be Fongpay Style" :)

^ Final BBQ Meats and Eggplant.

Got a package in the mail today. It was my Code Geass R2 DVDs (Part 2, 3, and 4). This is a really good mecha-anime.

^ Code Geass R2 DVDs.

Useless Idol News:
AKB48 will be supporting Japan at the FIFA World Cup this summer. They have a theme song and special jerseys for sale. Names here. Jerseys cost 15000Yen (about $150).
Anyone know if Japan is any good at soccer? Mark? Charin?

^ Japan Soccer Jerseys by AKB48.

BTW: The same soccer theme song will be used by AKB48 to support Japan in the 2010 World Table Tennis Championships on May 23 in Moscow. I think Japan will fair better in the ping-pong tourney than in the soccer tourney.

Weekend Report

Friday:
Watched some of game 7 of the PHI @ BOS game. It was 3-0 for Boston early in the 1st period, so I thought it was pretty over for Philly. I came back later and it was 3-3 going into the 3rd!
Philly won 4-3 in the end. I can't believe Boston blew a 3-0 goal lead, and blew the 3-0 series lead!!!
Sorry Charin... your team is pitiful. Even Mr.T wouldn't pity them :) lol

Saturday:
Had to get up early because a neighbour was doing construction at 8am in the morning! Sounded like he was cutting down a rain forest. I tried to go back to sleep, but another neighbour started to mow his lawn! It's 8am on Saturday... what is wrong with them?

Lunch today -> Chow Mein with Beef Flank and Daikon from T&T.

^ Chow Mein with Beef Flank and Daikon.

I also got Portuguese Egg Tarts :) Haven't been able to find these for awhile. During the week, the Portuguese Tarts were replaced with Milk Tarts. The Milk Tarts do not look appetizing.

^ 6-pack of Portuguese Egg Tarts.

I setup my sprinkler to watered my lawn Sat evening. As I was walking away, I tripped over the hose, stepped in a divit (probably cause by that stupid skunk), and twisted my left foot. I thought it was nothing, but it started to hurt and swell up Sat night.

Sunday:
Woke up with a swollen left foot and I couldn't walk on it. Forced me to stayed in bed or in my computer chair most of the day.

Useless Idol News:
Got my AKBingo! book in the mail on Friday. After removing the shrink wrap, I immediately paper cut myself on the book. Such a tiny cut, hurts like crazy and bleeds alot too.

Iron Man 2

I finally saw Iron Man 2 today. Ben and I went to see it at the AMC. I must say it was really good and highly entertaining. I recommend people go out and watch it (FYI: there is a small bit after the credits).
I want to see Robin Hood next.

I wonder who would buy these dolls?

^ Pee and Poo Dolls.
I guess they could be used for potty training, but it might give kids the impression that they can play with their pee and poo?

Useless Idol News:
This week's AKBingo was more Punishment Dodgeball. Entertaining watch :) I was really hoping Maeda Atsuko would get hit and made to do something, but it didn't happen :( Nothing ever happens to her.

Strike Fighters Win!

CMC Strike Fighters got our 1st win, in Game 1 of the new softball season. We won 22-5! Our team is going to be competitive this year.

On a more important note, MTL beat PIT (5-2) in Game 7 and move on the the semi-finals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. YES!!!!

Dinner today -> Lobster and Corn.
I have to eat the same meal as Monday. My new routine to guarantee the MTL win. I guess I need to stock up on Lobsters and Corn from FarmBoy. Sale ends this Thurs or Fri.

^ Lobster and Corn = MTL Win.

I think I want one of those new Stop signs they have in MTL :) Or atleast a poster of it to hang in my cube.

^ New Stop Sign in MTL.

Useless Gadget News:
I found out that you can get Darth Vader or Homer Simpson as your Tom Tom GPS Navigator voice! If I ever get a GPS device, I'll definitely get these voices.

Bumblebee Bank

Dinner today -> Chicken Drumsticks with Creamy, White Wine Mushroom Sauce.

^ Chicken with Creamy White Wine Mushroom Sauce + Rice.

^ Dessert: Sweet Naval Orange and Grapefruit.

I took my parent's old BBQ last year, and was planning on restoring it this year for my use. When I opened it up today to see what parts I need to buy, I decided I should just buy a new BBQ. It's way to far rusted to be worth fixing, and I think it would be cheaper to just by a new BBQ than to buy new parts.

^ Rusty BBQ.

Anyone know of any good BBQ sales coming up?

Useless Transformers News:
Picked up my Bumblebee Bank at Comic Book Shop today. It will be on display at my desk, at CMC, if people want to see it.
While your at my desk, feel free to drop money into Bumblebee and see what happens :) All donations will go towards the "Fongpay Foundation for Fongpay's Breakfast Tea".

MTL Wins Game 6!

Dinner today -> Lobster and Corn
Steamed 2 more lobsters and some fresh corn on the cob for dinner today. Again I ate it while watching the PIT @ MTL game. MTL won 4-3. Game 7 will be Wednesday at Pittsburgh.
It was a really good game. Very fast paced.
Bob Cole gave another stupid quote. I can't recall what he said, but it was about Malkin and I guarantee you it was stupid :)

Weekend Report

Friday:
Busy, busy, busy at CMC today. I had to sit and witness tests being executed most of the day :) It gets tiring and bit boring watching people press buttons and verify data, but Theresa let me press some buttons for part of the testing :)

Saturday:
Got up early to go grocery shopping. Picked up a whole bunch of cooked Lobsters at FarmBoy. They are on sale for $4.99 each (sale on til Tuesday).
Also got a 6-pack of fresh quails and some rib steaks in preparation for Sunday's BBQ.

When I got home, I made myself a big breakfast and watched Power Rangers: Season 1 on TV :) I wonder why they are repeating these old episodes on TV?

^ Breakfast: 3 Eggs, Honey Mustard Ham, Tomatoes, and Rustic Bread.

Dinner today -> Lobster
Steamed 2 Lobsters, and ate them while watching the MTL @ PIT hockey game.

^ 1 Lobster.
Too bad MTL lost, but I thought MTL played bad. To me, the game was played 90% of the time in the MTL end.
Bob Cole gave a stupid comment at the end of the game, "Montreal 1, Pittsburgh 2 and Crosby hit the post, but it doesn't count." What? Of course it doesn't count.

Sunday:
Happy Birthday Ben!!!
and
Happy Mother's Day!

We made a big meal at my parent's house today. I made my Black Pepper Spaghetti with sliced BBQ Rib Steak, but I made it abit too spicy this time.
We also had BBQ Steak and Mushroom Kabobs, and BBQ Quails (both marinated in Korean BBQ sauce). It was all good stuff, but the quail was extremely good. The Korean BBQ sauce goes perfect with quail.

^ BBQ Quails, Kabobs, and Black Pepper Spaghetti.

Afterwards, we had Strawberry Short Cake from the Swiss Pastries shop in Carlingwood Mall. I had to wait 1/2hr in line to buy this cake. The shop was full of people buying Mother's Day's cakes at 10am. I was surprised that there were so many people in the store at 10am!

^ Strawberry Short Cake.
