1st Strike Fighters Practice

Went to my dentist (Dr. Mok) this morning for my annual checkup and cleaning. Dr. Mok's been my dentist since forever.
My teeth were checked to be very clean :) It was expected as I haven't had a cavity since I was probably 10 yrs old.

After work today, was the 1st CMC Strike Fighter's softball practice of the year. We got a few new players (a couple of them are free agents from a defunc team). The practice went really well and was fun. I think our team has alot of potential to do well this year.

^ CMC Strike Fighters Logo.

Dinner today -> Subway Sandwich Part II.
I bought this sub on Tuesday along with the other one, and was planning to have it for lunch on Wednesday. But I forgot to bring it to work.
Then I was going to bring it today, but I knew I was going to the dentist, and his office is kind of near T&T; so I got a T&T combo for lunch instead ($6.99 for Soup, Rice, Beef Flank, General Tao Chicken, and Pork Belly... great deal, tasty, and large portions).
Therefore, the 2 day old sub became today's dinner.

^ 2 Day Old Subway Cold Cut Trio.

Useless Idol News:
I'm liking AKB48's new single "Ponytail to ShuShu" alot. This week's AKBingo! showed a shorten preview of of the video.

^ AKBingo! New Single Preview.
(Ripped from Youtube)

Steve didn't like the CD covers I posted a couple of days ago. I can't blame him for also being angry that Mistress Kasai wasn't pictured on one of the covers too :) LOL

Will It Snow on Thursday?

I wonder if it will snow on Thursday? Because Hell must have frozen over again! Montreal just eliminated Washington in Game 7!!!! Whooo!!! ^_^

^ My MTL Jersey (that I will be wearing Thursday).
Bring on Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins!

Snowy Tuesday!

Last night Montreal beats Washington...
Today it's snowing... hmmm.
So that must mean Hell has frozen over! LOL.
The radio was playing Christmas songs in the morning too. I'm ready for the Christmas Holidays now.

Dinner today -> Subway Sandwich. A foot-long cold-cut trio on white bread, with everything but olives, mayo and black pepper. That's my usual order.

^ Foot-Long Cold-Cut Trio.

I completed my Taxes tonight. I'm actually getting money back this year. It enough to cover the money I spent today for pre-paying for 1 year of lawn and snowplow service. If it wasn't for that stupid skunk "aerating" my lawn for grubs, I wouldn't have bought the lawn service this year.
If you live in Kanata, I recommend Capital SLC. If you sign up for them, mention my name as a reference I'll get a discount my next year's service.

Useless Idol Info:
I got a radio-rip of AKB48's next single "Ponytail to Shushu". It sounds like a bubbly, almost anime-like, summer idol song.

^ "Ponytail to Shushu" (Audio only, no Video).
(ripped from YouTube)

Since it's a summer song, the CD jackets and the promotional video will feature the girls with ponytails and bikinis. It's blasphemy that Kasai isn't on one of the covers!

^ CD Jacket A and Jacket B.
Gavin, pick up the CD that Yuto likes best for me in Osaka. (release day: May 26) ^_^
BTW: Aim to get it at Sofmap or Tower Records, and ensure you get the 1st press bonus item.

Canadiens Win Game 6!

Dinner today -> Steamed Crab Legs. I steamed up 1/2 a bag of frozen crab legs to eat while watching the MTL @ WSH Game 6 Playoff Game. I steamed the other half during the 1st intermission.

^ 1/2 Bag of Crab Legs.

The Montreal game was awesome. MTL won 4-1. Halak was almost unbeatable. Maxim Lapierre got called for 2 diving penalties. The 1st dive was hilarious. Almost looked like a cartoon character getting splattered against a wall.

Useless MLB Info:
Want to win $3 Million? Sign-up and play "Beat the Streak" for free at MLB.com Will and I signed up today with a few other Robot Hockey Pool players. (Can't win if you live in Quebec.)
It's simple to play and you don't need to know baseball (like me). Just pick a player and if he gets a hit that day, your streak goes up by one. Build up your streak and if you beat the streak of 57, you win $3,000,000US.
If no one wins, and if you have the highest streak at the end of this year, you get $10,000US. The current highest streak is at 22.
If your player doesn't get a hit, your streak restarts at 0.

If anyone joins *cough*JEFF*cough*GODZILLA*cough*CRASHERS*cough*K-LOWE*cough*MINUS-ONE*cough*, let me know; and I'll request access for you to join our CMC group started by Chuck Norris.

Weekend Report

Friday:
The new Magic set is out today, "Rise of the Eldrazi". Dropped some $$$ to pick up my booster boxes and Fat Pack at Comic Book Shoppe.

^ Rise of the Eldrazi Booster Boxes and Fat Pack.
(I didn't get "Sarkhan the Mad" Planeswalker and "Eldrazi Conscription" I really wanted.)

Saturday:
CMC Hockey Pool breakfast was held today. Chuck Norris was this year's Champion. Breakfast was held at Broadways. I wanted to go to Le Buffet des Continents for dinner. In my opinion, it is the best buffet in the Ottawa area.

I found a frozen lobster in my freezer, that I froze last year. I steamed it up for dinner. It was all good.

^ Steamed Lobster.
But lobster wasn't enough food. I microwaved some pancakes too.

^ Microwave Pancakes.

Sunday:
Woke up with a sore lower back. I think it was from reading on my stomach and arching my back for too long (about 4hrs).

Isabella's 1st Birthday Party was today! A big group of adults with their equivalent mini-me's were invited to Steve and Kristina's house to help celebrate. Lots of good food too.

^ Isabella's Lunch Spread.

^ Isabella's Birthday Cake.

Useless Medical Info:
Steve was able to pick up for me some more HeadOn rub from Walmart in the USA (I can't find it anymore in Ottawa). It's the best thing ever made for headaches! Just rub it on your forehead, and it feels like it freezes your forehead, nullifying the headache in seconds.

^ HeadOn.

Robot Hockey Awards Ceremony

Today was the annual Robot Hockey Awards Ceremony and Lunch. It's held at Rideau Restaurant every year. Only 6 of the 12 hockey pool members were able to attend today.
K-Lowe officially received his trophy, and again proudly showed it off :)

We ordered 6 dishes (no "minus 1" dish, because we're not "girly men") and 5 of them were all meat :) Ofcourse I forgot my iphone at my desk so I don't have any pics.
We ordered Schezwan Beef, Lemon Chicken, General Tao Chicken, Salt & Pepper Squid, Sizzling Black Pepper Steak, and Singapore Style Noodles. The plates were destroyed and we stuffed ourselves silly, especially Chuck Norris and Godzilla.

Dinner today -> Fried Chicken from Metro. I scored a deal today. Got 14 pieces for $7. The lady was stuffing the last of the chicken into 1 box and discounting it. I was 1st to grab it. Most of the meat was dark meat, and that's what I prefer.

^ Metro's Fried Chicken.

For my snack while watching Supernatural (awesome episode btw, with appearance by the Ghostfacers!), I threw a grapefruit and a navel orange in the air; pulled out my super knife; *SLICE* *SLICE* *POOF!* The sliced fruit landed perfectly on my plate :)

^ Sliced Grapefruit and Navel Orange.

FYI:
Sunday is the last day for the DQ Blizzard Deal.

DanAldo's Haircut

Got an haircut today at DanAldo's in Kanata (in the mini-mall beside Basic's Foods). It's the only place I get my haircut. Ben, my dad, and I have probably been going there for the past 25yrs. The same 2 barbers work there (Dan and Aldo) while the secondary barbers have churned over the years.
Most people chat with them while getting their hair cut. I try to, but the guys have a super heavy Italian accent (and they mumble abit), so I can't figure out what they say most of the time.
While getting the haircut today, I got the worst itch in my ear, and I couldn't scratch it until the cut was done.
FYI: the price went up again. A haircut now cost and even $20. I remember in high school I used to pay $9 for my haircut.

Dinner today -> Stouffer's Meatball Lasagna. This one was actually more filling than yesterday's Chicken Parmesan. I still added about 1/2 cup of frozen veggies.

^ Stouffer's Meatball Lasagna.

Useless Japan Info:
Gordon looked up the Air Canada prices for a flight to Japan from Ottawa. The prices have really dropped alot. It only costs about $950 for a trip (1 change at TOR). That is about $300 less than what I paid, the last time I went. I'm so want to go, but I have so much to do right now at CMC; and I don't have enough spending money saved up (I need lots of UFO Catcher Game Center spending money, and AKB48 spending money ^_^).

Robot Hockey Champion

This year's hockey pool was won by K-Lowe. Here is the Championship Trophy with his name engraved in the base:

^ Robot Hockey Champion: K-Lowe.

Dinner today -> Stouffer's Chicken Parmesan + an extra cup of frozen veggies.

^ Chicken Parmesan - 2 Servings in the Bowl.
The package says serves 2, but I ate the whole thing and was still hungry. I wasn't even satisfied. I had to make a couple of roast beef sandwiches to feel satisfied. Maybe I should have drove out to DQ for a couple Blizzards instead :)

1st Blizzard of the Year

Went to lunch at Jack Astor's today with Mark and Darrell. I haven't talked with Mark for awhile and Darrell since last summer. It was good catching up. Mark's got an interview at RIM (where Darrell works) while Darrell is expecting baby #2 May 1st! Good Luck Mark, and Congrats Darrell.

The 1st Blizzard of the year was today... an "Oreo Blizzard". I took advantage of the DQ deal and got 2 Oreo Blizzards (Kurt ate the 2nd one, after both Steve and Marc rejected it!!! What is wrong with them?). I also shared a big spoonful with Kurt's office floor. It's a good thing CMC is getting the floors steam cleaned this weekend.

^ Oreo Blizzard. (I ate a 1/3 of it before remembering to take a pic.)

Dinner today -> Cheese and Roast Beef Sandwiches in Rustic Bread with Eggs. A new bread that Susanna showed me at FarmBoy. It's pretty good. It's shaped like a pyramid. It's tough, chewy, heavy, and soft at the same time. Kind of holey too, so it's good for dipping.

^ Rustic Bread Sandwiches with Eggs.

Useless Idol News:
AKB48's sub-group's, Team YJ lost to Team PB on the weekend. They each released a single for fans to vote for their favorite. The winning team gets a photobook featuring them.
I prefered Team YJ's "Choose Me!" over Team PB's "Enkyori Poster". I think Team YJ would have had a better chance if their music video didn't suck; while Team PB's was pretty good.

^ Team YJ - Choose Me! (AX2010 Live Version).

Weekend Report

Friday:
Another super busy day at work. 2 meetings, lots of docs to work on, and everything has to be released now, now, now. I also got assigned to a new project as Systems QA.

Dinner today -> Cream Cheese on Toast. More specifically "Onions & Chives" and "Salmon" Cream Cheese. Didn't know what to make, so I made this simple dinner.

^ Cream Cheese on Toast.

Saturday:

Went shopping with Ben in the morning. We got $1000 worth of clothes at Moores for $250 each. It was the "Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale" for sports jackets, pants, and shirts. I got a sports jacket and pants. Both to be picked up Thursday after some tailoring.

We also got some groceries from Uni (can't remember the new name of the chinese grocery store). I got a couple Big Head Fish chunks and a Lobster. The lobster was on sale for $7.99/lbs. Must be a good deal as alot of people were buying Lobsters.

^ Live Lobster. (He crawled around, pooped and barfed in my sink. Must be the pre-hot-water-diving jitters)

I steamed one of the fish chunks for lunch .

^ Steamed Big Head Fish Part I.

Ate the Lobster for dinner while watching the MTL @ WSH game. I can't believe MTL blew a 4-1 lead and lost 5-6 in OT! I blame the Lobster.

^ Jinxed Boiled Lobster.

Sunday:
Breakfast today -> Pancakes with 2010 Maple Syrup.

^ Pancakes and 2010 Maple Syrup.

Afterwards, went with Susanna for a bit of shopping at Walmart, Bowlring, and Farmboy. Didn't buy much stuff.

^ Fruits and Hot Chocolate Coffee Snack.

Dinner today -> 2nd chunk of Big Head Fish.

^ Steamed Big Head Fish Part II.

Useless Idol Info:
AKB48's latest Album is #1 in the World Charts!
#1 in Japan was expected, but #1 in the world is pretty unbelievable.

B-side to AKB48's next single in May "Ponytail to ShuShu", will be the new ending theme song to the new DragonBall Kai anime (re-make of DragonBall Z?). The sub-group will be called "Team Dragon".

Canadiens Win!

Busy day for me today at CMC. So much to do for so many different projects.
My newest project I work on is the FiNAF HAWK MK66. It's pretty cool. Pics here.

On top of my busy day, some loser in Ninja's Live (Thunder Strike) keeps attacking me and taking my money. He's only beating me because he has 144 allies and I only have 30. He shouldn't even be allowed to attack me. Maybe someone reading this can eliminate him for me.

Made a breakfast bet with Andrew: I bet MTL will beat WSH tonight in Game 1 of the playoffs. I'm confident MTL will win. (I also predict MTL win in 6).

UPDATE:
MTL wins!!! 3-2 in OT. I can taste those eggs and bacon already... :)

Shirt and Tie

Customer was visiting CMC again today for an all day meeting. This meant I had to dress up sharply as a Transformer with a nice shirt and tie :).

^ Shirt and Tie.

Dinner today was Beef and Chinese Greens on Rice. Haven't made this in awhile and it was pretty good. (I started mixing up the food in the bowl before realizing I didn't take a pic yet.)

^ Beef and Chinese Greens on Rice.

Tuesday of Maple Syrup

A slow morning with an interesting afternoon.
I was involved in a meeting where there was an intense disagreement involving CMC processes and SQA. The disagreement remains unresolved, as it will require my supervisor's experience and opinion to reach a conclusion, and maybe a couple of managers too.
Anyways, it made my afternoon more fun and exciting.

Bought a fresh bottle of 2010 Maple Syrup from Farmboy. Now I just need to make some pancakes to pour it on.

^ 2010 Maple Syrup.

Useless Ghost Story:
(I have nothing else to talk about today, and this is a story I recently heard and had to share.)
In an apartment building, there lived a family of 4. A young couple with an 8 yr old daughter and 5 yr old son. One day the little boy mysteriously died, and the family mourned.
A year later, and on the anniversary of the young boy's death; the remaining family was eating dinner when they heard the dead boy's voice cry out, "Sister...". 3 days later the boy's sister died.
Another year passes, and on the anniversary of the young boy's death; the young couple heard the dead son's voice cry out again, "Mother...". 3 days later, the mother died.
Another year later, on the anniversary of the boy's death; the man knew what was coming and was freaking out. That evening he heard his dead son cry out, "Father...". The man prepared the best he could, knowing he would be joining his family soon. 3 days later, the next door neighbour died.
LOL

Monday of Work

Back to work after a 4 day weekend.
Felt kind of tired all morning. I couldn't get to sleep last night until 2:30am! It was probably because of the 2 cups of coffee-hot chocolate mix I drank; and the cup of green tea I drank in the evening.

Non-useless Kurt Info:
Kurt is having TWINS in October!!! Congrats Kurt and Josee,... and good luck :) Hopefully the twins don't pull a "Stefano" and surprise you with triplets :)

Useless Idol Info:
I got the just released AKB48 album "Kamikyoku Tachi", in the mail from HMV Japan today. The cover had a foil overlay (kind of like a foil Magic Card) ...oooh so shiny... :)
The CD also comes with a DVD containing mulit-camera angle choreographys of Oogee Diamond, Iwake Maybe, and RIVER.

Got these 1st press bonuses:
- HMV/AKB48 Collectors Notebook,
- Wantanabe Mayu Photo,
- Takahashi Minami Pencil Board.
(FYI Gavin: Sofmap gave out Oshima Yuko Pencil Boards, so please get me the next single from Sofmap - I remember there is a Sofmap near Shin-Osaka Station, in the mall under the tracks near the post office).

^ AKB48 Album "Kamikyoku Tachi" and Bonuses.

Mistress Kasai was rushed to the hospital today. She had surgery for appendicitis! She'll be out of action for atleast 1 week.
I blame Steve >:p because Kasai worked so hard to make his Birthday Sandwiches, she almost burst an appendix.

Weekend of Steak and Mussels

Friday:
Woo hoo! No work again. (Last day of vacation.)
Slept in til 10:30am. Went out and picked up my comic sub from Comic Book Shoppe; found and bought Classics Inferno from Toys on Fire; and got some groceries from SuperStore and Farmboy.

Dinner today -> Steak Round 2!

^ Steak with baby corn and potatoes, Round 2!
(Actually, I couldn't finish the steak.)

Saturday:
Got up early to watch cartoons :) and made a big breakfast with the dinner leftovers.

^ Leftover Steak and Eggs Breakfast.

Dinner today -> Mussels.
Went to Costco and bought a 6lb brick of mussels. I also got some white wine from the LCBO, to cook the mussels in.

^ Steamed/Boiled Mussels in White Wine, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, and Butter.

^ 6lbs of Cooked Mussels: Bowl 1 and Bowl 2.
I ate the 1st bowl of mussels while watching the MTL game vs TOR. Montreal was lucky to get the point and make the playoffs.
I had a glass of wine with the mussels too, but I could only drink 1/2 of the glass. White wine is suppose to compliment seafood, but I don't think it matches with mussels. So I dumped it in the sink and made a big mug of coffee with hot chocolate mixed together. Good stuff :)

The 2nd bowl of mussels: I de-shelled the meat and saved most of it, along with the white wine mussel stock for Sunday.

Sunday:
Used the stock and mussel meat to make congee. I also added a couple chopped preserved duck eggs (aka hundred year old eggs). Not bad, but the congee was abit thick and I made too much.

^ Mussel Congee.

Useless Chuck Norris Info:
Found this pic with my iphone.

^ Chuck vs Giant Rock.

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Dinner today -> Steak and Fruits

Woo hoo! No work today... kind of.
I'm on vacation, but I had to go in to get a few SQA things done for my projects.

Dinner today was steak, baby corn, and mini-potatoes (topped with sour cream, cheese, and bacon bits).

^ Steak Dinner.

^ Fruit Plate (with Portuguese Tart) for Dessert.

Happy Birthday Steve!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!!!

^ Mistress Kasai made you a birthday snack... LOL

Muppets

Boooo, I had to go to work today. Boo. It was tough waking up early this morning too.

Spent $8 on 2 Breakfast Specials in the Cafe today. None of the food was for me. I lost 2 hockey pool breakfast bets last week, and today they were cashed-in. It was great that Halak got 2 shutouts for MTL last week, but he also gave my opponent 2 shutouts and 2 wins, to help beat me.

Found this cool video on YouTube, so I ripped it:

^ The Muppets - Bohemian Rhapsody

Dinner today -> Free Whopper.
James some how "accidentally" bought 2 whoppers today. He gave me the extra. Thanks James.

^ Whopper.

Useless Idol News:
AKB48's new album was released today. My copies are shipping.
Check out their advertisement truck that's driving around Tokyo:

Peanut Butter Elk Burgers

Woo Hoo! No work again today! (Still on vacation.)

Went to "The Works" for lunch with Gavin, Emi, baby Yuto, and Ben. I got the Sk8r Boy with Elk (peanut butter, gouda cheese, and 2 bacon strips).

^Works Burgers (Sk8r Boy and Avril something...).

We then went to the Revlon sale at the Nepean Sportsplex (on til this Sunday). Bought a belt and some boxers.
Afterwards, we were off to T&T! Scored some fresh Portuguese Tarts and some frozen ramen Emi reconmended.

^ Japanese Ramen and Portuguese Tarts.

Magic again Tuesday night. This time baby Yuto played!

^ Yuto with Magic Cards and Anime Girls... the makings of an Otaku.

Useless Idol News:
I got my Kamen Rider W: Queen & Elizabeth - "Love Wars" CDs/DVDs in the mail last Thursday.
Itano Tomomi and Kasai Tomomi are TV guest stars on Kamen Rider W (kind of like Power Rangers). Their character's names are Queen and Elizabeth, and they released a single for the show.

^ Queen & Elizabeth - "Love Wars" CDs.

I also to got 4 posters with the CDs I ordered. Usually I don't get the bonus posters shipped to me when I order CDs, but this time I ordered from a new supplier (CDJapan) and got them :) Alas... they were all the same :(

^ Kamen Rider W Poster.
I gave a poster to baby Yuto for his room.
(Remember Yuto: Kasai is Uncle Fongpay's mistress, but you can have Itano :p LOL)
