I got a Karn Liberated!

Got my FREE ham and cheese breakfast sandwich from Subway this morning. It was alright. Not very filling since there isn't very much ham in it. Plus the english muffin is kind of dry. McDonald's Sausage Egg McMuffin is better.

^ Subway Ham and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich.

My front door lock was getting stiff and difficult to get the key in. Dave gave me some 3-in-One silicon spray to try on it (suppose to be better than WD-40). It works! The key goes into the lock really smooth now. This stuff is amazing!

^ 3-in-One Silicon Spray.

Dinner today -> Spicy Spaghetti with Liver and Asparagus.

^ Spicy Spaghetti with Liver and Asparagus.

Useless Toy News:
I got a Zartz from Canadian Tire. It's an indoor foam suction dart that sticks to anything! It's really neat. I need this Zart Bow too!

^ Zartz.

Useless M:tG News:
James and I played some Booster Pack Battles at lunch today.
We each used 1 random New Phyrexia booster pack, and without looking at the cards, removed the token card and added 3 of each land. We started at 10 life, and used a 5 poison counter rule for poison kill.
It's a pretty fun format, especially when I got a mythic rare "Karn Liberated" in my pack!!!

^ Karn Liberated.
Karn is even more powerful in this format.

Useless Idol News:
AKB48's newest album will be released June 8. I found out from Gordon today that there might be a Canada Post strike this Friday! No!!!!

Weekend Report: Spider Sausages

The uncut original version of AKB48's "Beginner" was uploaded on YouTube last week. It's also going to be released on their DVD video collection in June, but here it is:
(Warning: this could be shocking to some of you)

^ Uncut Original Beginner.
It's cool, but I can see why the video was edited before public release.

Food this weekend ->
I got some Italian sausages, boiled, and sliced them. I then inserted 4 dry spaghetti sticks into each sausage slice and repeated this alot.

^ Italian Sausage Inserted with Spaghetti.
I boiled them and pan fried some of them in garlic butter too. Not sure what to call this, but I decided on "Spider Sausages".

^ Boiled "Spider Sausages".

^ Pan Fried Garlic Butter "Spider Sausages".
Each bite is a perfect amount of sausage and spaghetti.

I also got a Flattened Chicken from M&M Meats to try out.

^ Flattened Chicken Box.

^ Finished Flattened Chicken and Plated.
The chicken is really good. It's juicy and well marinated and spiced. I'm surprised I didn't eat the whole chicken in sitting! I recommend trying it out.

Useless Free Food News:

Live from Tokyo… It's Saturday Night!

Useless Japan News:
I just read that there will be a Japanese version of "Saturday Night Live". This could be good. Former AKB48 member Oshima Mai will be part of the cast.

Dinner today -> Potato, Cheese, and Bacon Perogies.
I got some Cheemo Perogies today because they were on sale at Metro. They are alright for $2.99 a box. Not very much cheese or bacon in them. Mostly potato. I can't believe the perogies from the CMC Cafeteria are way better than these.

^ Potato Perogies with Sour Cream.
I still have 1/2 a box of these to eat.

Vote for Kasai

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strike Fighters lost today to the "Dew Jays" 10-5. We got 0 home runs and I was a miserable 0/3 at bat. The game was closer than the score indicates. Also, alot of "high ball" calls by the other team, were really "strikes".

Dinner today -> Black Pepper Spaghetti with Sliced Steak.

^ Black Pepper Spaghetti with Sliced Steak.

Useless Idol News:
The early results for the 3rd AKB48 election are out.
The top 21 will participate in the 22nd Single.
It'll be a tough battle for #1 between Yuko and Maeda.

^ Early AKB48 3rd Election Results.
(Credit to Stage48)
Kasai at #15!!! Come on people, vote for Chiyuu!
I'm also surprised that Yukirin is at #3 and Sasshi at #7.
Hey Gavin, Mayuyu is at #5.
(I still laugh when I think that this election is way more important to me than the Canadian Government elections.)

Computer Problems Galore!

Right after posting yesterday's blog entry, my computer froze. After waiting a couple of minutes I restarted my computer and found that ALL my shortcuts and exe files wouldn't work! I finally fixed the problem tonight using this site.
I had some how triggered a "fake anti-virus application". I'm so greatful that site with the fix.
What is really annoying is that I just installed and updated "Norton Internet Security 2011" Saturday morning. I scanned and found nothing!

Anyways, since I thought my computer was semi-dead, I've been spending some spare time today looking up a new computer. I think I want this Alienware PC from Dell. I went to PC Cyber for a quote and they could match the same specs with some minor upgrades; for abit less in cost too. I'll probably get it from PC Cyber since I can get support face-to-face verses Dell's call-in help.

Useless CMC info:
Hey CMC people. Did you know that we can use the "Computer Purchase Plan" to get an iPad2? I'd be tempted if I weren't getting a computer, but I might wait and see what the iPad3 will have.

Dinner today -> Cheese Burgers.
I got some burger patties from Farmboy, but after cooking them, they looked more like mini-burgers :(

^ Mini-Cheese Burgers.

Happy Birthday Julie!!!

Happy Birthday Julie!!!

We should meet up for lunch sometime soon.

Long Weekend Report

Since your able to read this entry, I guess the Jokulhaups / Apocalypse didn't happen on Saturday.

My cousin's house warming party was also on Saturday. As usual, there was tons of food:

^ Main dishes.
And tons of desserts, including my favorite: Black Forest Cake.

^ Desserts.
Congratulations on your new home!

I helped Ben buy a used gazebo from Ed's brother. We got this great 10x12 gazebo for only $75! It took us a couple of hours to put it together, but it looks great.

^ Ben's New Gazebo.
If Ben can get some mosquito netting or curtain walls, we could even play Magic outside!

Other food this long weekend ->

^ Can you identify this Mystery Drink that is really good on a hot day?

^ Beef and Chinese Greens on Rice.

^ Mac & Cheese with Salmon and Veggies.

^ Ramen with Egg and Fish Paste.

^ Mystery Drink Revealed: Orange Frosty.

Useless Idol News:
AKB48 21st Single "Everyday, Kachuusha" ("Everyday, Headband") will be released Tuesday.

^ Everyday, Kachuusha.
(The song starts about 01:30 in.)
The music video parodies scenes from almost every previous AKB48 music video. Unless your an AKB fan, the video is not that great because you won't understand where the scenes come from. Actually, I think it was kind of dumb as I want to see a new video and not a re-hash.

Update: Invisible Dividing Line

Useless Lawn Info:
Can you see where my neighbour's lawn ends and where mine starts?

^ Fongpay's Lawn.
You can actually see a dividing line. Thanks to the amazing power of "Weed-B-Gon" I have no dandelions this spring. This stuff is just too awesome. I highly recommend it.

^ Weed-B-Gone.

Dinner today -> Hamburgers.

^ Hamburgers.

UPDATE #1:
CanGames 2011 is this long weekend at the Rideau Curling Club.
Vendors open Saturday 9am-7pm and Sunday 9am-6pm.
(Thanks for the reminder Gordon)

UPDATE #2:

Strike Fighters 2011 Season Opener

CMC Strike Fighters opened the softball season today against a new team to the league: A-Team. We played through the rain and won 32-25. It was a hitters game. Alot of hits and home runs for both teams, but we destroyed their starting pitcher and 2 relievers.
Today, I was Walked and hit 2 Singles and a Double.
Honourable Mention #2: Jeno with 2 Home Runs!
Honourable Mention #1: Steve with a Grandslam!
MVP: All 4 of our girls. Great fielding and hitting.

Dinner today -> Subway Cold Cut Trio.
Didn't feel like making anything after the softball game, so I picked up Subway.
My usual order: "Cold Cut Trio on white. Everything but the olives. Mayo and pepper."

^ Fongpay's Cold Cut Trio.

Useless Idol News:
It was announced AKB48 will be the official messengers of the Japanese Red Cross. I read the article about this, and what made me say, "Holy Crap!" was that after the tsunami disaster, the girls raised over "187.3 Billion Yen" for the Red Cross (about $2.2 Billion CDN). That amount is incredible! Holy Crap!

Brand New Twins!

Congratulations!!! x2
Steve and Kristina had their twins today. 1 girl and 1 boy. Names TBD.
Mom, dad, sister, dog, and babies are doing fine.

^ Twins!

Dinner today -> Deer Steak, Potatoes, and Veggies.
I defrosted a deer steak I had in the freezer. This one seemed way more salty than the other deer steak I had a few weeks ago.

^ Deer Steak, Potatoes, and Veggies.

Useless Idol News:
The Series 2 AKB48 Solo Cards were released this past Saturday. I only found out Sunday night, and both Yuko and Kashiwagi sets are already sold out! I requested a special order from 2 of my online stores, but they won't order them for me :(
I'm hoping Gavin would do me a huge favour and order 1 box of Kasai Tomomi for me (and maybe Oshima Yuko if it gets restocked ^_^ ).

^ Kasai and Yuko Cards.

If anyone wants to get me a Birthday gift and have connections in Japan, I'm also interested in getting Kashiwagi Yuki (currently sold out), Kitahara Rie, Takahashi Minami, or Maeda Atsuko card sets. Go ahead and feel free to discuss it among yourselves :)

^ Yukirin and Rie Cards.

^ Takamina and Maeda Cards.

GOCHI

Dinner today -> Steamed Big Head Fish.

^ Steamed Big Head Fish.

Useless Japan News:
I watched this show on NHK called "GOCHI, Dinner is on YOU tonight!". It's a food game show where 2 comedians (Ninty-Nine), 3 regulars, and a weekly special guest order and critic a meal from a top restaurant. After eating a dish, they have to guess how much it is worth on the menu. Each person orders 3-4 dishes and they show how the chef makes the dish. (I'm not sure if they have to guess for every dish or just their own dishes.)

^ "Gochi, Dinner is on YOU tonight!"
At the end of the show, they reveal who guessed closest to the bill total and they win a prize. They then reveal the next closest until the one who guessed with the most difference in price is revealed and has to pay for everyone's meal.

^ Final 2 Players Praying and Revealed.
This show is really entertaining and the food looks awesome! This is the 2nd episode I've seen and the same girl lost 2 weeks in a row! LOL

Weekend Report: More Glass Catfish

Last Thursday, Blogger was down, so I couldn't post.

I spent 3hrs re-arranging/cleaning my fish tank. I added dark blue gravel to the bottom. It makes the tank look alot cleaner and the fish stand out more.
I also got 3 more Glass Catfish too. They are so neat, I had to get more before they were all gone.

^ Tank Redesign.

Useless Gaming News:
Got the new Magic: the Gathering cards on Friday, "New Phyrexia". I got 2 booster boxes and a Fat Pack. Alot of good cards in this set. I really wanted a Karn Liberated, but I didn't get one!

^ M:tG New Phyrexia Cards.

Went to the big Card Show at Lansdowne Park with Gordon. Not too much there, but I picked up a few Magic singles and 3 (knockoff) rookie cards :) Patrick Roy, Wayne Gretzky, and Mario Lemieux Rookie cards.

^ Patrick Roy, Wayne Gretzky, and Mario Lemieux Rookie Cards.

Food this weekend ->

^ Mock Chicken and Avocado Pita Wrap.

^ Steamed Big Head Fish (Before & After).

^ Steamed Soup Filled Steam Pork Buns.

My Aunt and Uncle were visiting from Connecticut this week, and we went to Chu Shing for dinner:

^ Chu Shing Meal.
