Hot Cocoa Oreos

Dinner yesterday -> Pizza
Took a vacation day on Tuesday to finish Christmas shopping... or that was the plan, but Julie and I just shopped mostly for ourselves.  We went to St.Laurent and Carlingwood Mall and shopped for 5hrs.  (We bumped into Waffle and AnnaLisa too.)  We had pizza for dinner: pepperoni, roasted red pepper, and roasted garlic on it.  Really good.
Pizza.
We ate that while watching the last episode of a British family cooking competition, and a couple Ultimate Beastmaster episodes (Ninja Warrior-like show).  Different countries compete against each other in an obstacle course and each country has it's own hosts.  Team Japan had former AKB48 member Akimoto Sayaka as one of their host!

Snack today -> Hot Cocoa Oreos.
Take 1 day off, and a ton of work piles up.  Didn't do much today but try out the new Limited Edition Hot Cocoa Oreos.  They are OK.  It's basically 2 oreo cookies sandwiching a chocolate and marshmallow filling.  I guess it tastes like hot cocoa?  Katie thinks these are double stuffed too, but I'm pretty sure they aren't.

Marquesa de Chocolate

Lunch today -> Bake Sale.
All I ate today were sweets from the bake sale.  It was donate what you want and take what you want.
This was the pic I took at the beginning, but there was more later.
Bake Sale.
The best dish was Carlos's homemade Venezuelan dessert "Marquesa de Chocolate".  It's a frozen treat made of layered biscuits within frozen chocolate cream.  It was OMG good! It's like eating a soft serve icecream cake.

Useless News:
Today was also the final voting for the best decorated Christmas cube.  Ed won by 1 vote!  He got a $50 gift card to Bayshore.

Weekend Report -> Monkey Bread Dry Run

Food this weekend ->
Didn't do too much this weekend.  It was freaking cold outside and I needed to go to work to finish some stuff.  I did do abit of grocery shopping with Susanna.
Picked up some Farmboy brand liver pate.  It's very smooth and tastes pretty good.  I ate most of the block for dinner with some crackers and lemon Coke.
Liver Pate.
Got some Smoked Sockeye Salmon dip from Costco.  It's $12 for a huge tub.  It's also very good.  I ate it on crackers and pitas.
Smoked Salmon Dip.
CMC's Toy Mountain Bake Sale is on Monday.  I made Monkey Bread :).  The recipe I use uses alot of sugar and butter.  It turned out really well.
Monkey Bread Before Flipping.
Looked even better after flipping it over.  This is my dry run for Anthony's party.
Finished Monkey Bread.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Lunch today -> Egg Sandwiches.
Went home for a quick lunch today.  Made some simple egg sandwiches on buttered toasted bread.
Egg Sandwiches.

Useless Movie News:
Work Christmas Party was at 3 Brewers tonight, which conveniently coincided with the Star Wars: The Last Jedi advance showing at Landmark Theatres next door.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
I got tickets for the 7:01pm show for Ed, Peter, Nyc, and myself.  It was for non-3D, small theatre, recliner seats, back row, center.  Good seats but 1 or 2 rows closer would have been better.  Will try to remember that for episode 9.
Advance Showing Tickets.
The movie was great.  I enjoyed it alot.  I went in with low expectations or potentially an Empire-Strikes-Back-like movie, but it entertained me.  Great beginning, lots of action, Chewbacca part :).  Also a few stupid parts, awkward acting, and jumpy scene switches, but overall fun movie to watch.  Watch for "the ring".  The better be selling these, because I want one.

Useless Transformers News:
Late to the getting because of work and being sick, but I picked up some of the new Power of the Primes toys at Walmart after Star Wars.  I found Jazz, Starscream, Dreadwind, and Windcharger.

Mauna Kea Hawaii Golf Course

1st snow storm of the year today, and I went golfing at Mauna Kea Hawaii :)  Well, I went virtual golfing at Hawaii.  Jeff had a groupon for Golf-o-Max, and we used it tonight.
The groupon included beer and pop, and discount nachos.
Snacks.
The first 9 holes, Ant Thony played strong.

But during the back 9, Staypuft pulled away.

ARMEEof01 was in the pack too.

I finished with +49, but I birdied the last hole!  Took us about 4 hours to play 18 holes.

Thanks Jeff!  It was lots of fun :)

Weekend Report -> Stomach Bug

Food this weekend ->
Went to the grand opening of the Kanata Noodle House 2 on Friday with Ed, Steve, and Peter.  We started with Vietnamese wraps that we shared: Chicken, Pork and Shrimp.
Tasty Chicken, Pork, and Shrimp Wraps.
For my meal I got Pho #15 Medium.  It was just as good as KNH1.  This is going to be great as KNH2 is 5 minutes from work :)
Pho #15 Medium.

Friday night, I ate a polish dog from Costco and then some Triscuits.  One of these gave me the worst stomach ache/stomach issues for most of the Saturday.  (I'm leaning towards the Triscuits, as I can't even look at the box without feeling like vomiting.)  I was supposed to go shopping at the Christmas Craftshow and go see Thor with Julie in the afternoon, but there was no way I was leaving the vicinity of a toilet.  The only thing I was able to get down on Saturday was 1 can of ginger ale and half a glass of orange juice.

Sunday, I was feeling somewhat better but I was sore because of all the flexing I had to do to prevent my stomach from aching.  I did end up going to the Christmas Craft show in the morning, but I didn't try to eat any samples there.  I bought some Carmichael's meats for myself, Ed, and Steve.
Carmichael's Pepperoni
I made eggs and toast to try and eat something before Walking Dead mid-season finally, but I was only able to eat half of this plate before my stomach said, "No More!".
Only ate Half.

Useless Gaming News:
4 Player gaming at Brian's Friday night.  We played a few quick rounds of Between Two Cities.  Excellent starter game that is pretty fun.
We then finished another Time Stories mission.  We finished the Expedition expansion.  It started off really good, but it wasn't that good towards the middle and end.  We found it fairly easy, but was also made good rolls so none of us went insane.  I can see it was a good attempt at trying something new, but it didn't work for us.

Unicone Rainbow Swirl Maker (aka Unicorn Poop Machine)

Breakfast today -> McDonalds
I beat K-Lowe in a head-to-head match in my hockey pool a couple weeks ago.  We wagered a breakfast meal for the victor.  I got my victory breakfast today: sausage egg mcmuffin, hash brown and coffee!
Victory Breakfast.
I tasted just like victory :)  Thanks K-Lowe!

Snack today -> Snowflake Cheetos.
Got the winter themed Cheetos.  They are snowflake shaped and made with white cheddar.  Very good.  Will need more.
Cheetos Snowflakes.

Useless Toy News:
I was looking through the new Toys R Us flyer today and I noticed the "Unicone Rainbow Swirl Maker".
Edible Unicorn Poop Machine.
Everyone knows Unicorns poop rainbows.  This machine proves it by making edible unicorn poop by squeezing the rainbow poop out of the "squatting" unicorn!  (Zoom in on the machine in the link)  LOL  How did this toy make it through the test censors!?!?  But I'm glad it did.  I'm really tempted to get one (or get it for someone).

Pink Snowballs and Chicken Skin

Snack today -> Pink Snowballs.
Got this box of Pink Snowballs from the US before Halloween.  Tried them out today.  They are pretty good.  Definitely a good treat when you want satisfying snack.  It's got a cream core, surrounded by a chocolate cake, wrapped in a layer of soft marshmallow and then covered in pink coconut sprinkles.  Will definitely get another box next time I go to the US.

Snack #2 today -> Chicken Skin.
Got this bag of garlic chicken skin from an indian grocery store on Bank Street a couple months ago.  I forgot about it til now.
It's OK.  I think the oil has gone abit bad.  I was hoping it would be like KFC, but it wasn't .  This would be good in congee.

Dinner today -> Omelette Rice with Sardines.
Didn't know what to make for dinner today and I didn't feel like going out to get some groceries.  I just made a 3 egg omelette and filled it with red kidney bean instant rice.  I wanted some meat, so I opened a can of smoked sardines.
Meal was OK.  The rice and omelette was good, but the fish was too smokey.

Cool Runnings

Snack today -> Gateau.
Picked up a couple cakes from Loblaws.  It was BOGO free.  I got a cinnamon swirl and a golden loaf.  Both were pretty good.  Would have been perfect with abit of whip cream.
2 Cake Snack.

Dinner today -> Croissants.
Susanna and I went to Costco tonight and we bought some croissants.  I made a couple sandwiches with mock chicken in them for dinner.
Croissant Sandwich.

Useless Food News:
Saw this "Cool Runnings" Jamaican curry powder at Loblaws.
Cool Running Jamaican Curry Powder.
No bobsled on the bottle :(, but neat name.  I wonder what it tastes like?  If they had a smaller bottle, I'd get it, but I can't risk buying a big bottle and then not liking it.

Weekend Report -> Montreal Business Trip

Was in Montreal from Thursday to Saturday.  Went there for work and for my boss's retirement lunch.   Stayed at the Airport Courtyard Marriott.  The room was pretty nice.  Seemed to be exactly like the same layout from the last time I was there, except my window now faced the front of the hotel.  I preferred that it faced the highway so I could watch the rush hour traffic clear up before going out.
Hotel Room.
Bathroom was nice too.  The shower head had the water flowing like a waterfall.  I think I might get my shower head changed to be like this.

Hotel Bathroom.

Food this weekend ->
For my boss's retirement lunch, we went to a Greek place called "Au Vieux Duluth".
Started with an excellent soup.  A creamy tomato based soup with bits of vegetables and rice.
Excellent Soup.
For my meal I got the hamburger steak.  It was pretty good, but most of my plate was salad.  My hamburg also had a bone chip in it.  The soup was better than this plate.
So-So Hamburger Steak.

For dinner, I got Scores Rotisserie both nights I was in Montreal.  It's too bad Scores closed in Ottawa, because the 2 leg meal is an awesome meal.
On the Thursday night after I ordered my take-out and had a seat; some guy came in, looked at the menu, and then asked the waitress "Do you have fish and chips?"  I was laughing in my head "Why would you ask for fish from a chicken restaurant!?!?"  The waitress also had a weird face and said "No".  That's when my food came, so I don't know what that guy ordered.
Scores 2-Leg Meal.
Washed it down with my favorite Orange Maison drink.  I thought they stopped making this, but I found it at Adonis!  I bought the "without pulp" by accident.  I thought "sans" meant "with", but it meant "without".  I bought 4 more bottles (with pulp) before going home on Saturday.

Lunch at CMC's cafeteria on Friday was Montreal Smoked Meat.  Can't really tell in the pic, but it was a big portion of smoked meat in the container.  There was also some wedge fries, pickles, and bread.  I should have taken more bread as there was too much meat for just the 2 slices.
Smoke Meat Lunch.

I made an omelette rice for lunch on Sunday.  The rice was the new instant jambalaya rice.  Folded it with a 3 egg omelette and topped it with some garlic aioli.  Had some slices of Montreal smoke meat from Farmboy with it.
