Lunch today -> Willy's Pizza

Ordered a small Canadian from Willy's Pizza today. It had pepperoni, mushrooms, and bacon on it. Not chopped up bacon, but bacon strips! Lots of cheese too.

^ Small Willy's Canadian Pizza.
See the bacon!

Went to the place pictured below, Wednesday night with Ben and Susanna for some groceries. We bought hotpot ingredients for the long weekend.

^ Where Else?

My mom told me that there is a rumor that the Loblaws at Centrum is moving, and being replaced by another T&T! No clue about how true this rumor is, but that would be awesome!

Dinner today -> Nachos

Something dug up my front lawn last night. I think it's a dog or a skunk? I don't know what it is, but it is getting me pissed off and annoyed. It's the 2nd time it's happened this month.
Can anyone recognize the tracks?

^ Mystery Animal Footprints.

Anyone have any suggestions of how to stop whatever it is? My first idea is to keep watch at night, with my trusty BB Gun at my side, and pickoff whatever it is. Of course, if it's a skunk, I'll have to sniper it from the 2nd floor.

Dinner today was Nachos. Cooked up some ground beef, pour it over the nacho chips and added shredded cheddar cheese. A quick microwave to melt the cheese, and "POOF": Beef and Cheese Nachos.

^ Ground Beef and Cheese Nachos.

The nacho chips were abit salty, but otherwise pretty good. I forgot to add sour cream. It could have also used some Jalapenos in it too.

I needed something sweet afterwards.

^ Navel Oranges and Strawberries.

Dinner today -> Cold Noodles and Wontons

Dinner today was cold egg white noodles with shrimp and pork wontons. Good stuff I must say. Noodles was mixed with soy sauce, oyster sauce, olive oil, and sesame oil.

Useless Idol News:
The newest AKB48 show aired today. It's called "Ariyoshi AKB Kyowakoku".
This week's episode included a few tips on how to win at UFO Catcher machines. Also, 2 of the girls were hypnotized to cluck like chickens when they win... lol.
Not that great of a show so far... actually it was kind of stupid, but the UFO tips were neat. The teaching guy was annoying.
Download it here if you want to see it.

After watching this, I really want to play some UFO machines in Japan!

Weekend Report

Not much going on this weekend. Tried to clean up the house, but I didn't get as much cleaned as I wanted...

Friday:
Watch this week's Shukan AKB. It was the swim-meet special part 2. It was pretty good, Yuko finally showed up and then dominated the events :)
Also watched the last episode of Majisuka Gakuen. A wordy episode, so I'll need to watch the fan subs when they come out.

Saturday:
I bought some frozen Takoyaki from T&T. It's not bad. My issues with it is that they aren't completely round balls, only have a small piece of octopus in it, and comes with no sauce. I had to add tonkatsu sauce, mayo, and benito flakes to upgrade it to my standards.

^ Takoyaki.

Watched Zombieland while eating the takoyaki. OK movie, with some funny parts (aka Bill Murry part :))

Dinner was steamed Snow Crab Legs. It took me over an hour to eat them. They were so good.

^ Steamed Snow Crab Legs.

Sunday:
Went shopping with Susanna. She told me that the snow crab legs I just ate on Saturday, are on sale this week at the Superstore. So I got another bag of snow crab legs :) They are on sale for $18 (Reg $34)! Great deal. I may eat the ones I just bought this week and get another bag.

Dinner was steamed Soup filled Pork and Shrimp Potstickers.

^ Potstickers.

This is the good kind I was looking for. It's got a thicker skin, so the soup doesn't leak out until you bite it.
Warning: let it cool abit before eating. Otherwise, if you eat them in 1 bite like I do, the potsticker will explode in your mouth and the hot soup burn the insides. Aahhh, the pain! :(

Storm8 Victim

Found out that Gavin is also playing the Storm8 Live games on his iPhone. He's starting to be addicted to them like I am. Another victim to these time wasting Storm8 Live games.

Nothing much else going on today. Nothing special for dinner, so no pics. It was just tomato wedges, avocado slices, sliced squid, sour cream & onion chips, and mock chicken.
NOTE: The tomato is about 2 weeks old; the avocado is about 5 weeks old; squid was from Monday; and the mock chicken expires tomorrow. The only thing "fresh" was the chips. LOL
It was all still good to eat... I think? If I don't show up to work on Friday, you'll know why.

Finally!

Ben wanted to go to T&T tonight, so Susanna and I went to T&T with him. See what I scored :)

^ 6 Portuguese Egg Tarts.

That's not all...

^ 12 Portuguese Egg Tarts!

Yummmm... they are so good.
I got 6 for myself and 6 for an evil, crazy lady at work who likes to send out inappropriate emails about Kurt :) Thats right, they are for Sandra. Kidding about the evil part :)

T&T now also stocks Black Sesame Ice Cream. In my opinion, one of the best ice cream flavours available.

^ Black Sesame Ice Cream.

Useless Idol Info:
I got my Morning Musume CD in the mail today. I got the collectors edition with the DVD.

^ Morning Musume Album "10 My Me".

Majisuka Gakuen Episode 11 Subbed, now available here.
It's the climatic battle between Maeda and Sado, with Maeda using all her ally's super moves in the battle. Last episode airs this Friday..., will Yuko live or die?
(credit to AKB-48.COM)

Speaking about Oshima Yuko. She now has her own Official Online Store. (Bookmark it people.) The store opens March 26.
BTW, my Birthday is in a few months...

Update:
I can't believe what just happened in the MTL vs BUF game!!! MTL was winning 2-0 with 3 mins left, and they take a penalty, and they totally blew the lead, and lost in the shootout, and, and, and argh!

Wheels on Meals

"Wheels on Meals", my favorite Jackie Chan movie ever! Everyone must watch it. Highly recommended. It's a great action comedy. Also features Sammo Hung.
Fans consider the final Jackie Chan vs boss fight scene in this movie, one of his best filmed fights ever.
Watch it here (on YouTube) in 10 parts and subtitled.

Dinner today -> Osaka Curry

Went to T&T and finally got the Osaka curry I was looking for. I didn't think I had enough meat in the pot too, so I added another pack of stewing beef. Now I think I have too much meat in the curry.

^ Curry on Rice.

Weekend Report -> DeferredCurry

Friday:
Felt like such a long day at work today . It was like time slowed down. But it was worth it when I got home. I had the latest Majisuka Gakuen and Shukan AKB episodes downloaded. Shukan AKB was a swim-meet special!

^ AKB48 - Iiwake Maybe (Swimsuit Version).
(Ripped from Youtube)

Saturday:
Got up early and went to Metro for some fresh baked Italian bread, Brie, and cream cheese. It was to go with some defrosted smoked salmon. (Still working on cleaning out the freezer.)

^ Smoke Salmon, Italian Bread, Brie, and Onion & Chive Cream Cheese.

Ate this while watching Saturday morning "Retro" cartoons. 2 back-to-back G.I. Joe and Transformers cartoons were on TV.

Sunday:
I prepared to make a rich beef curry for dinner today. Bought some maro-filled soup bones, stewing beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions.
Boiled up the bones and meat, let it cool, then re-boiled it with the veggies. When I went to add the curry, I found out I didn't have any in the cupboard!!! I forgot I used it up last time I made curry.
It was 7pm so I went to Super Store and Metro looking for Glico Curry (curry imported from Osaka), but both stores didn't have any. I should have gone to T&T, as I know they have some. So I was forced to defer the curry until Monday and made a simpler dinner:

^ Mock Chicken Sandwiches, Tim Bits, and Scallop Potatoes.

Tying a Tie

I had to wear a shirt and tie to work today. I had a meeting with the customer and I was representing SQA, so I had to look good. Ended up that I was the only one wearing a tie in the meeting :P
The tie I wore was from Kyoto and was hand-made. One of my favorites.

^ Kyoto Tie.

Watch the cool video below. It's how I learned to tie my tie :) (@2:25, or @7:00 for slower instructions.). The video is of a Japanese Variety show, showing instructions on how to get ready for work in 5 minutes.

10 My Me

Went shopping with Susanna at St.Laurent Shopping Mall, Best Buy, and T&T tonight. Wasn't planning on buying much stuff, but I ended up buying $40 in toys and $40 in cooked food. I'm set for meals for the next few days.

Useless Idol News:
Morning Musume released their new album today called "10 My Me". The setlist on the album is pretty good.
I'm waiting for my copy to ship to me, but I got it from the Torrent here.

^ Morning Musume "10 My Me" Cover.

Listened to it a couple times through at work. Nothing else to talk about today so here is my little review:
01. Moonlight night ~Tsukiyo no ban da yo~
Meh, not that great of a song.

02. Kimagure Princess
Single song. It's also "meh". Not a song I liked when it was first released.

03. Genki Pikappika!
This one is OK.

04. Namidacchi
Another OK song, until they start rapping. The girls can't rap, and it ruins the song.

05. Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai
Single song. It's growing on me.

06. Ooki Hitomi
Sounds like an anime-type song. Good song. Lots of Reina singing in it.

07. Ano hi ni modoritai
Pretty good ballad song between Takahashi Ai and Niigaki Risa.

08. Nanchatte Renai
Single song. Good single.

09. Osaka Oishiinen
Worst song on the album....

10. Loving you forever
...Followed by the best song on the album. A group ballad.

11. Shou ga nai Yume Oibito
Another Single song. I like this one too.

12. Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou? (Chinese Ver.)
A good older song remade. Still good in Mandarin Chinese.

Dinner today -> Flintstone Ribs

I bought a rack of Texas BBQ Ribs from "The Butchery" on the weekend. They are pre-marinated and are huge! Each rib is about the length of my fore-arm.
There is a decent amount of meat on the ribs, not alot, but enough. When you eat them, you have to get messy and rip the meat off the bones with your teeth :)
My cousin Linda coined them "Flintstone Ribs", because they are big like in the cartoon.

^ Texas BBQ Ribs (aka Flintstone Ribs) Uncooked.

I cooked the ribs in the oven, but I think they are better on the BBQ. Plus, I think the ribs tastes better on the BBQ too.

^ Flintstone Ribs Oven Cooked.

I only ate 2 ribs and I was satisfied. I could have had a 3rd, but they were abit greasy. I think I needed some veggies or Navel Oranges as a side-dish to cut the grease.

Weekend Report

Friday:
Bought a little section of salmon to make some salmon sushi rolls. I used the leftover Chinese Sausage Rice to make it. Since the rice is abit oily, it didn't stick together very well in the roll.

^ Salmon Rolls.

Saturday:
Went to T&T for some Portuguese Egg Tarts, but again there were none. I should have expected it. They said they ran out of the tart shells and can't make anymore until they get more (sometime next week). I should really call ahead.

Went to Toys R Us afterwords and picked up some travel board games. They were on sale for 1/2 price ($5.99). So I got the whole set.

^ Travel Board Games.

My continuation of cleaning out my freezer resulted in me eating frozen Lobster for lunch :) I think I bought the lobster last summer.

^ Lobster and Rice.

Was still hungry after that, but I wanted something sweet. I toasted some Eggo's, spread on some peanut butter, and topped it with abit of maple syrup.

^ Peanut Butter Eggo's.

Sunday:
"Spring Forward" with the clocks today.
FYI: By the time your reading this, and if you didn't change your clocks, then you've been 1 hr late for everything :)

Made a steak, potato, onion, and tomato medley for lunch/dinner.

^ Steak & Potato Medley.

Lazy and relaxing Sunday today. Watched downloaded stuff on my media player most of the afternoon: District 9, Majisuka Gakuen ep9 (subbed), and the brand new AKB48 Team K 6th Stage concert.
Also watched parts of Star Wars Ep1, 2, and 3 on TV. Star Wars seem to be on alot of channels this weekend, and all the time.

Mysterious Strawberry Plant Growth

When I got home today, I noticed my potted strawberry plant I was storing in my garage during the winter; has sprouted some new growth!
I'm not sure how this is possible? There is no sun in my garage, I'm not watering it, and I don't think it is warm enough outside yet. It's still pretty cool that this is happening.

^ Mysterious Strawberry Plant Growth.

For dinner today I made Chinese Sausage Rice. The Chinese Sausage I used was made of fatty pork and duck liver. Tasty stuff.
Normally when my mom makes it, she puts 2 or 3 sausages in the rice cooker to flavour the rice. Today I decided I would make Super Chinese Sausage Rice. I put 6 sausages in the rice cooker :) I tried to put in the whole pack of 8 sausages, but there was no room left in the surface.

^ Super Chinese Sausage Rice.

Dinner Today -> Jamaican Patties

Dinner today was again something simple: Microwave Jamaican Patties, mixed Veggies, and Rolo Dibbs. I'm trying to clean out the older frozen foods in my freezer.

^ Jamaican Patties, Veggies, and Rolo Dibbs.
Ate this while watching this week's AKBingo!, Majisuka Gakuen ep8 (Subbed), and Planet Hulk on my new Media Player. The shows are so much better on a 100" screen :) Planet Hulk was good too. I may buy the DVD.
(Majisuka link credit to AKB-48.COM and AKB48 Online)

Ordered Pizza from Willy's Pizza today for lunch, with Kurt and James. We got the medium Meat Lovers Pizza. It was really good. What makes Willy's really good, is they use whole bacon strips on their pizzas. This may be my new favorite Pizza place. (It helps that it's a 5 min walk from my house too.) I recommend people try out the place and order bacon strips on your pizza.

New Media Player

I just picked up this Western Digital TV Live Network HD Media Player. It's awesome!
It allows me to watch any of kind of media file from my USB Stick or External Hard Disk, on my TV or my projector.

^ WD HD Media Player.

It's easy plug and play setup. It comes with software for your computer to setup direct streaming to YouTube, Pandora, and your computer files; but I didn't install it.
I tested out the media player with some .avi, .wmv, .mp4, and .mkv files and it works with no problems. It recognizes most file types including .vob and .ts. It even detects and uses subtitle files for the videos too.

Now I can watch everything I download on my 100" Projector. Ofcourse I started with AKBingo! :)

^ AKBingo! on my 100" Projector.

The WD Media Player is on sale right now at the Dell.ca site for $129.99. I printed out the sale and bought it at BestBuy. BestBuy will price-match it and give you an addition 10% off the difference. The regular price is $169.99.
(FYI: there are 5 left at Kanata BestBuy as of Tuesday)

Saw this awesome Truck in the parking lot, outside BestBuy today.

Final Notice Mail

Dinner today was Spaghetti and Shrimp. It was good, but I forgot to put chopped bacon in it. The dish could have been so much better.

^ Spaghetti and Shrimp.

Got a "Final Notice" in the mail today for a package delivered on March 4th. Final Notice!... I never got the 1st notice.
I picked up the package and it was my Oshima Yuko Trading Cards! Yes! And if my mailman had left me a "1st notice", I could have had these last week!

I ordered the Special Collectors Box. It includes 3 Boxes of cards and a Collector Binder. Each box has 12 packs, and each pack has 7 cards.

^ Oshima Yuko Special Box.

It took me a couple hours to open all the packs, sort the cards, and then sleeve them. In the end I got:
- 2 complete 72-card sets (3rd set missing 3 cards),
- 1 complete 36-card rare set,
- 3 box toppers,
- 1 rare photo card (011/200),
- 2 rare costume cards (#2: 1221/2530 and #3: 305/900). These are similar to the jersey cards in sports cards.
It seems that the really good rare cards are only 1 per box. Way harder to get good rares in this set than the Kasai card set. I'm disappointed I didn't get any autograph cards too.
I'm tempted to get another box, but its sold out everywhere.

^ Yuko Cards Score.

The collector binder is a 4-ringed binder. That's unusual. Most card binders are 3 ringed. It also makes it hard to find 9-pocket sleeves to use in it.
Anyone know where to buy 9-pocket sleeves for a 4-holed binder? I need about 28 pages. (14 for the Yuko cards and 14 for my Kasai cards.) Comic Book Shoppe doesn't have any.

Update:
I just read that some dork ordered 1 box of cards and pulled 5 rare costume cards from it! That's @#$%^&!!!!

Weekend Report -> Seafood Galore

Friday:
Went to "Wild Wings" with James and Kurt for lunch. I think the wings are overpriced, but they are good. We got 4 pounds of wings and 4 different flavours: Garpar, Canadian, Smokey BBQ, and Dill-icious Honey.
My favorite was the Dill-icious Honey. It's honey glazed wings with a buttermilk-dill sauce (I need to figure out this sauce so I can make these myself).
No pics. We were too busy destroying the wings :)

Dinner was Potatoes and Eggs. Didn't feel like making anything big, so I made something simple.

^ Potatoes and Eggs.

Saturday:
The Seafood event was happening this weekend at Costco (FYI Stefano). Picked up 6 pounds of Mussels for $9.99. What a deal! I also got some Crab Legs from Loblaws. They were on sale for 1/2 price this weekend.
Cooked it all up at my parents house for lunch.

^ Mussels and Crab Legs (forgot to take pic of the cooked Crab Legs).

Sunday:
Went to T&T and was planning to pick up some Portuguese Egg Tarts, but again they were all sold out. It was only 12:20pm too. This is getting abit annoying.
Some lady before me in line was also asking for them. She wanted to buy 12 too, but she settled for 1 Chinese Egg Tart to tryout. She is going to be so disappointed, as in my opinion the ones T&T make are disgusting.

Dinner today was steamed Large Head Fish. Ate this while re-watching the new Star Trek movie on DVD.

^ Steamed Large Head Fish (Before and After).

Useless Idol News:
Janken-Pyon (Rock-Paper-Scissors) vs AKB48. Simple flash game, but pretty cool. Takes a little bit of time for the flash to load.
I got to Stage 5 vs Takamina before losing. Everytime you lose, you have start from Stage 1. You need to be 9 girls to win.
I think the game is to promote a new ride in Universal Studios Japan.
