Snack today -> Creme Brulee Lindt Chocolate.
Got this goodie from the Lindt outlet at Tanger.  I mainly went in to ask if they sold the individual creme brulee chocolates from the big gift box, but they don't.  The girl gave me a free sample and showed me a creme brulee chocolate bar instead.  This is now my new favorite chocolate.  It's sweet, creamy, and has bits of crunchy caramelized sugar in it.  I highly recommend trying it.

Dinner today -> Stew.
Made stew in my pressure cooker.  I put in some stewing beef, some chuck ribs (they were on sale at Sobey's), red potatoes, red onions, garlic cloves, beef stock, and organic baby carrots.  It was cooked fast in the pressure cooker, but it was impossible to stir afterwards.  Had to transfer it to a pot and then stirred in an egg to thicken the broth.

Picked up the G1 Seeker set from Walmart's Black Friday online sale for 50% off.  The set consistes of the 3 Coneheads: Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust.  It got delivered faster than I thought.

Made ramen on Saturday.  I upgraded it by adding red pepper paste, chinese greens, fish cakes, and egg, and green onions.  It was nice and spicy.

For Susanna's birthday we went to the Merivale Buffet.  My first plate was a bit of everything good.  The squid and mussels were very good today.

Useless Black Friday News:
Susanna got me this stuff from the US during her Black Friday trip.  Got some Cornfusion Popcorn, Wasabi Pringles, Kickin Chicken Taco Pringles, Cookies & Cream Hazelnut spread, and Cherry Cola Tic Tacs.

The Tic Tacs are awesome.  The outer layer is cherry and the inner layer is cola flavour.  Crunch it to get the cherry cola deliciousness.

Another week, and another Breakfast Bet win.  I beat K-Lowe in the hockey pool last week 5-4.  It was mainly thanks to Daniel Sedin's hat trick on Saturday night.  Breakfast is more yummy when it's free :)

My parents got me some wasabi peanuts from Kyoto on their trip last week.  They are really good and crunchy.  The wasabi wasn't overpowering, but just enough to give a small burning feel on the tongue for a second.  I wonder if I can get something similar at Balk Barn?

Finally found the new Game of Thrones McFarlane sets at Toys R Us on the last day of the sale.  Didn't see any blind packs when I was there tonight, but Gordon found them 1 hour after I left the store.  I did pick up the Stark Banner Pack set.  It was 25% off.

A thought crossed my mind while watching The Simpsons after work today.  I thought to myself, "Are there really any people out there who are actually named Homer Simpson?"  I did a google search and there are alot in the USA!  I was surprised there are that many.

Started watching Penny Dreadful.  I'm 3 episodes in and the story is really good, but definitely not for kids.  I need to watch Jessica Jones after too.

Dinner today -> Beef Chow Mein.
Made some home-made beef chow mein tonight.  Boiled the noodles and then pan fried them.  Topped the noodles with Chinese greens and sliced steak.  It was good, but I should have made the topping more saucy.

NGT48 collaboration with McDonalds in Japan by selling a 48 piece McNugget bucket that includes member cards.  If I was in Japan, I'd be eating nuggets every meal until I got a Kitahara Rie card :)  I wonder why there is no Kashiwagi Yuki card?

Got a package from HLJ today.  Inside was Masterpiece Tracks.  It includes a mini tape-mode Blaster and Raoul (from the G1 episodes).

Lunch today -> Pizza.
Got the Deep Dish and Cheese Bread combo at Little Ceasars for lunch.  The deep dish wasn't as good as I remember, and the cheese bread wasn't that good too.  The commercial makes it looks good, but I don't think it is.

Dinner today -> Ribs
Got 2 Monday Mania orders from Big Bone BBQ for dinner.  Took it to my parent's house to eat with the family.  I got 2 full racks, 1lb of smoked wings tossed in their signature sauce, 1lb of fried wings in fiery honey garlic sauce, 1 large fries, and 1 Caesar salad; all for $50.  4 weeks in a row I've had ribs on Monday, and a total of 5 racks.

Susanna's birthday is coming up and she is going shopping in the US for Black Friday, so I brought the gifts Ben and I got for her incase she was going to buy any of these things for herself.  We got Susanna SUGAR lipstick, peanut butter and jam pillows, IT Clown key holder, a pack of 1991 Super Star cards, Big Bang Theory Lego set, Magic School Bus Season 2, and Sailormoon socks.  In the Super Star pack, she pulled Vanilla Ice card :)

Weekend Report: Pop Expo 2015

Food this weekend ->
Got fresh rice noodle wraps and sesame balls from the local Chinese grocery store.  The sesame balls were especially good today.  Crispy, chewy, sweet, and savoury all at the same time.  Must be eaten fresh on Fridays, and nowhere near as good the next day.

Went to House of Targ on Saturday with Ben and Jeff's family.  25 cent old school arcade games and $1 pinball machines.  Pretty fun.  I played 3 rounds of X-Men vs Street Fighter using Ryu and Cyclops, and my hand was tired afterwards.  I'm getting old and rusty.
They also served hand made to order peroges.  Although the peroges were good, they were expensive (12 perogies for $16 + $2 for sides).  To me, it's a try once thing.

Dinner at Jeff and Linda's house Saturday night.  Linda made salad, gumbo, and coconut rice.  It was all very good.  I've never had gumbo before and I ate 3 bowls.  I brought soy chicken on chinese greens.

Useless Gaming News:
Played some boardgames with the kids on Saturday.  Pie Face was fun.  We didn't use whip cream, as it would make a mess inside and it was too cold outside too.  We just used a wet sponge. 

We also tried out Garden Dice.  This is actually a very good game that requires strategy and luck.  I pulled away early, but Everett won in the end by 4 because I used up my sun token and he didn't (+5 bonus points for not using it).

Explored the Pop Expo on Sunday with Julie.  Lots of dealers there, but not that many guest or events from what we saw.  Found this uber rare StormTrooper :)

I pick up a Birthday present for Jeff.  I got him this shirt, but the guy forgot to ask me what size I wanted before he started to press the shirt.  I needed a medium but he used the 2XL demo shirt.  So he made another in M and threw the 2XLshirt in the $5 bin.  I bought the $5 version for myself afterwards :)  It's abit big on me, but I don't care.

We went shopping at T&T and Bayshore afterwards.  Julie treated for ice cream at Laura Secord.  We both got the French Crisp flavour after trying a sample.  It's really good and I recommend it.

Unicorn Poo Arrived

Lunch today -> Mr.Shawarma.
Team lunch today and we got 2 Family Platters from Mr.Shawarma.  Says it serves 5, but it really serves 8 each easy.  There were 12 of us and we thought we destroyed most of the platters, but after merging the leftover trays, we had 1 full platter (minus most of the meat) left.  Everyone was full and satisfied.

Took a random vacation day today.  Got up at 10am, watch some Star Trek TNG, went out shopping at Tanger Outlet Mall, and got a hair cut.  Then wasted away the afternoon watching more Running Man episodes.
I picked up from the Calendar Club store "Nefarious" baord game.  Looks like an interesting and quick mad scientist themed game.

Dinner today -> Sausage Rice.
Cooked a pack of "Grill'em Sausages" with white rice in my rice cooker tonight.  It made the house smell fresh rice and cooked meat.  A great smell.

I plated it and cracked a raw egg on the fresh and hot rice.  Then pour some soy sauce over the egg before mixing the rice.  Good stuff.

3-Player gaming tonight after work.  We played Power Grid.  A much simpler game with only 3 players, but still very fun.  I was 1 turn away from winning, but James beat me to it.

Devastator at Kanata Costco

Dinner today -> Big Bone BBQ.
It's 3 Mondays in a row now that I bought ribs from Big Bone BBQ.  Tonight I got the "Monday Mania" with smoked wings.  I got the Rasta Jerk sauce on the side (I was charged $1 for the sauce, but sauce is included with fried wings.).  The ribs were smokey and juicy as usual.  The smoked wings were good at first, but after that they tasted exactly like the ribs, but not as flavourful.  The Rasta Jerk sauce was OK.  Taste like a blend of Italian dressing mixed with peppercorn and chicken drippings?  It was more tangy than I would prefer.  Also a really generous portion of crispy fries were in the box too :).  I split this meal with Ben and Susanna and we still had 3 ribs and some fries left over.

First Escape Room

Food this weekend ->
Brought in chocolates to work on Friday.  They were from last Christmas but they were all still good.  The creme-brule one was excellent.  The chocolate was creamy with a milky taste and had bits of crunchy crystalize sugar in it.  Will need to check if the lindt outlet just sells these by themselves.

Went to The Clock Tower for a late lunch on Saturday.  I ordered the 2-2-2 Breakfast: Sunny-side-up eggs, 2 toast, 2 bacon, 2 peameal bacon, 2 sausages, some potatoes and fruit.  I was hungry so it was very good.

Made popcorn for a snack while watching some new episodes of Running Man I got from Ben.  The popcorn was expired in May 2014 but they all still popped except for 7 kernels.  Washed it down with some Black Cherry Soda from Bulk Barn.  Tasty drink.

Useless Gaming News:
Ben, Gordon, Brian, Paul and I went to an escape room on Saturday.  We went to Tick Tock Escape downtown and attempted "The Hangover" room.  We had 45 minutes to complete the escape, but we didn't make it.  The room had a 15% success rate and were one of the victims.  We got stuck early and wasted 15 mins getting the 1st puzzle complete.  We got pretty far in the end, but we used 3 hints.  We were told we were about 4-5 puzzles from getting out.  The puzzles in the room were really good and well thought out too.  I highly recommend this place to try out.  You won't be disappointed.  I definately want to go back and try his other room (5% success) and his new rooms.  Owner is an Earl of March grad too :)

Went to Lone Star for a farewell lunch.  Jamie is leaving for Spotify.  Seems like an upgrade to a cushy job with a Google-like workplace.  The staff made him wear the foam cowboy hat and dance on a chair while they sang a farewell song.

Today was Remembrance Day and Pocky Day!
Steve took today off to go Christmas shopping, but I wonder if he knew most stores opened at 12:30pm today?

Didn't have to go home for lunch today and I spent the last of my cash on the United Way 50/50 draw today (Ethan won $205!), so I drank a couple cups of instant Cream of Chicken soup.  It was enough to hold me over til dinner.

Made shredded Pot Roast from a package I got at Costco for dinner.  While it was heating in the microwave, I pan fried some zucchini with salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and some soba sauce.  Ate it on fresh rice.  Initially I was thinking of stirring in a raw egg, but I forgot to do it.

I went to Kanata Costco at lunchtime today.  I was hoping Combiner Wars: Devastator was in (as it showed up in Calgary last week), but it wasn't there.  I did pick up some mini cinnamon rolls.  Never had them before and they are really good.  I ate 5.

Gaming after work today.  Today we played 3-player Flash Point.  We finished 3 games in about 2 hours, with 1 learning game.  We beat 1 game, but lost 2.  We couldn't control the explosions and both times we lost, the building collapsed.

Spider Attack

So I was minding my own business this morning, working at my desk, when this spider lowered itself from the ceiling to right infront of my face!  It was only a few centimeters infront of my left eye when I saw it.  I freaked and accidentally batted the spider over my cube wall into my neighbour's cube.  I don't think he noticed.  What the heck was the spider doing!

Ed and I got takeout from Big Bone BBQ today.  We both go the Monday Special (full rack, 1lb wings, and fries).  We both also got the 911 hot sauce, because the 5 star Wicked sauce from last week was pitiful.

We didn't realize the step from Wicked sauce to 911 sauce was huge!  I dipped a wing in the sauce, took 1 bite and it stopped me flat.  It had a nice initial sweet taste, then the heat kicked it hard.  My tongue, cheek, and lips were painfully tingling and I was jumping up and down at my desk.  I almost started hiccuping too.  I was sweating and had a runny nose a few minutes later.  This was the hottest sauce I've ever tasted!  I was really hungry at first too, but the heat suppressed my hunger to only 3 ribs, and 2 wings.
