Weekend Report: 8 yolk Moon Cake.

Ben, Jeff, Linda, + kids, and I went to an Auction on Sunday.  It was way smaller than I expected.  They jammed everyone and everything into 1/4 of a soccer field.  The auctioneer was a good one.  Ben won a camera for $75.  I won a bread maker for $30 ($37 after tax and auctioneer's fee).

Food this weekend ->
Picked up a lobster on Friday night.  I can destroy a 1.25lbs lobster in about 45 minutes.  It's completely stripped of meat, including from the antennae (sucked it out like a straw).

We also got T&T foods.  The salmon bones tastes like jerky.  The lotus root was crunchy and tasty.

Sunday night was the "Autumn Moon Festival" at my parents house.  They ordered Rideau.  It was alright.  I was under the impression we were going to get Pho from Kanata Noodle House for the past week, so I didn't get any myself this week.  I was utterly disappointed.

Polident Denture Cleaner

Dinner today -> Sterling Silver Steak and Mushrooms on Rice.
Lobster and Sterling Silver Steak are on sale at Sobey's.  I was going to get both but decided on only getting the steak.  Maybe I'll get lobster on Friday, but Louisiana Wings are on sale at M&M this weekend only ($6 off).  These M&M Wings > Lobster.

My travel cup is stained brown by the roasted green tea I drink everyday.

The trick to cleaning it is to use Polident Denture Cleaner overnight.

Overnight results: it looks like new.  A little stain left on the bottom, but I'll just use 1 more tablet tonight to finish it off.

Birthday Takeout

Dinner today -> Rideau Takeout and Cake.
My mom's birthday dinner was Rideau Takeout (Fish Fried Rice, Beef Chow Mein, Dry Fried Beef Rice Noodles, Shrimp in Egg Sauce on Rice Noodles, Cantonese Chow Mein, and Singapore Noodles).

Useless Manga News:
Picked up some new manga.  I got the latest Bleach, Naruto, and Yotsuba&!.  Out of all my manga, Yotsuba&! is my favorite.  It is LOL hilarious.  It follows a 4 yr old Yotsuba with her dad and neighbours in everyday situations in Japan.  ie in Volume 11, Yotsuba learns about pizza and not to over eat (because it makes you barf!)  LOL  I highly recommend it.

Weekend Report: Panda Garden Surprise.

Food this weekend -
Went to Jeff and Linda's on Friday for Everett's Birthday.  I made tempera shrimp on a stick with a mayo dip.

Saturday I made a Mock Chicken and Cheese Sandwich and deep-fried some Vietnamese Spring Rolls.

I watching a cooking showdown show on NHK Saturday night.  It was the combo of Pork Gyoza and Crab & BBQ Pork Fried Rice vs the combo of Chicken Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) and Seafood Chow Mein.  The Karaage combo won.
The show made me hungry and I made a steak for a late dinner.

Family went to Panda Garden Buffet for dinner.  I was super surprised that they had alot of good selection for dinner!  It included crab legs, sashimi, korean short ribs (but not as good as mine),  roast beef, BBQ ribs, and alot of seafood.  The tastiest dish:  Bacon wrapped Shrimp!

Potato Wedges

Dinner today -> Wings and Wedges.
I went to Loblaws around 9:30pm and picked up some 50% off food.  I got a box of wings and a large box of potato wedges.  The wings were a bit dry, but the wedges were really filling.  Eating 20 wedges is like eating 2 whole potatoes.

I went to Walmart tonight.  No new NHL figs, Transformers, or TMNT figs.  I did find a huge bag of cooked mussels for only $7!

After the Janken tournament last night, the older winners along with Yuko, Mayu, Kojiharu, and Takamina went to their live show "Kayou-Kyoku" and performed Heavy Rotation Janken Version (the members are still in their Janken cosplay costumes).

Steve and I went to Farmboy for lunch.  We got the Combination Calzone with Light Potato Salad.  The calzone was good.  The light potato salad... not so much.  It had a weird spice in it, that tasted like chocolate.  It was like chewing in mushy chocolate.

Dinner today -> Meat Sauce on Rice.
I wanted to meat sauce, but I didn't have any tomato sauce left.  I made the meat sauce with ground beef, ketchup, mustard, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and water.  I thickened it with an egg and added mushrooms and mini-potatoes.

The AKB48 29th Single Janken Tournament was today.  I got up at 5:30am to watch it this morning.
Kasai got eliminated in the 1st round by Matsubara Natsumi.  That sucked, but it's ok since I like Natsumi too.
Lots of cosplay by the members for the tournament: Mayuyu as an angel, Kasai as sexy teacher, Yuko as cop from Gingham Check, Akicha as bunny, Milky as bubble bath, etc.

I got 2 dozen PEI oysters from Farmboy today.  They are on sale for 39 cents each.  I shucked them pretty easily with my shucker.  I think the trick is to pry them open from the hinge side.

I ate some raw with a bit of lemon juice.  I also steamed some with chopped garlic, soy sauce, and green onions.  I made some neat chain-link cucumbers on the side.

Weekend Report: Cheap DVDs

I bumped in to Ben at Sobey's in Stittsville Sunday morning and we went to the Flea Market afterwards.  I got some Cherry Jam, some NES games for $5 each, and a bunch of DVDs for only $2 each!  I mostly got the DVDs that I haven't seen yet.

Picked up the new Transformers Bot Shots Wave 3 from the old Kanata Walmart.  The new Kanata Walmart is disappointing.  It doesn't get any of the new stuff.  No new Transformers or TMNT figs.

AKB48 29th Single Janken Tournament is on Tueday Sept 18 at 19:00 JST (6am EST).  It'll be streamed aired live on KayouKyoku (TBS - Use KeyHoleTV to stream Japanese TV channels).  Sasshi will be MC as she didn't qualify in the HKT48 preliminary tournament. 
Kojima Haruna needs to make Senbatsu (top 16) to maintain the only member to be in every AKB48 single.
I'm hoping for Kasai to win center :)

I got a couple of packages in the mail on Friday:
AKB0048 Series 2 Keychains.  The set includes Itano Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Oshima Yuko, Mimori, and Chieri.  I completed 3 sets with extras.  I hung an extra Yuko on my iPhone.

I also got the AKB48 Saitama Super Arena Concert DVD box.  It's 7 discs!!  It's the concert where Maeda announced her graduation.  I got Mariko, Mocchi, Kasai, Ucchi, and Paruru photos inside.
I had a headache all day Saturday, so I didn't get a chance to watch any of it yet.  I think the headache was from not getting enough sleep because I was playing Diablo 3 til 4am Friday night :)
