Dinner today -> Bayshore Food Court.
Went to T&T tonight, but I got there alittle late and there was nothing good left.  So I went to Bayshore and got some discount food.  I picked up 2 boxes from Shanghi360 ($4.99 each), 2 boxes of sushi for Ed (2 for $12), and 2 boxes at Manchu Wok ($4 each.).  Pretty good selection tonight as there wasn't many people at the mall.  Dropped half of it off at Susanna's house as it was too much food.

Useless Transformers News:
I got a package today.  It contained MP-24: Masterpiece StarSaber.  I didn't mind that Canada Customs opened the shipping box, but I was annoyed that they actually opened the Transformers box and pulled out StarSaber.  Luckily I wasn't able to order a second MP-24 to keep unopened and sealed for my collection, it wouldn't be mint anymore.  I think this one had nothing missing?

Useless Food News:
I found this neat little fruit called "Kiwi Berries" at Farmboy on the weekend (4 boxes for $5).  It's basically a kiwi inside a large green grape.  So neat and tasty.  The skin edible but is alittle tart.  Free samples at Centrum FarmBoy too (near the entrance).

Lunch today -> Pad Sew.
Went to Thai Express for some take-out, as I was in the area after going to FarmBoy and Toys R Us at lunch time today.  Picked up the Pad Sew.  I was surprised how the chef got all the food in the wok to fit in the box, but he did it.  It was really good.  I think I get more from Rideau Restaurant for the same price, but these guys make the dish in a couple minutes for speedy service.

Made myself a little snack tonight while watching the Tampa Bay @ Montreal game (FYI: MTL lost).  Chopped up some Melorange and threw in some Kiwi Berries.  I was thinking of pouring some Maple Milk on it too, but I didn't.

Weekend Report: Games at Brian's

Food this weekend ->
Made some tomato meat sauce with spinach and red pepper paste.

Mixed it into spaghetti.  Didn't feel like washing dishes, so I ate out of the pot :)

Got a poutine from Spuds Saturday night.  Got the Pigs Gone Wild again.  Ate half and took the rest home to eat in a sandwich.  Ben got the shawarma poutine.  Looked pretty good.

Useless Gaming News:
Went to the Geek Market Saturday night with Ben and Gordon.  We went during the last hour for $2.  Good thing too.  There wasn't much there.  I didn't get anything.  I was prepared to buy Magic boxes, but everyone was way over priced, even with no tax.
Ben bought steam punk goggle/sunglasses.  I forgot to take a pic.  He also wanted a shirt, but in the 10 mins for him to decide, some else bought it.
The Lego was really cool.  I really like the B-Wing and the Avengers/Ironman's Armoury.

After we played some games at Gordon's house.  With Judy we played 4 player Dixit.  It was really fun.  We also played Quirkle.  A tile matching game with strategy.  Finished the night with a couple games of Magic.

Saturday we gamed at Brian's.  Early start this Saturday too, but I'm not sure why we played.  Brian was sick and kept playing his ipad instead of playing the actual boardgames.  Really annoys me when he does that.  I'm fine having a relaxing evening at home watching TV, AKB shows, or Running Man.
We played 3hr game of DC:Crisis.  Brian totally pissed me off and I almost left.  He didn't want anyone else to buy the power level 7 cards or any Super Power cards because he was playing Superman and wanted them all.  I didn't want to play that way and I bought what I wanted to win.  Eventually Brian threw a fit and started to lose on purpose.  So I eased off on buying the good cards and bought equipment for my character's bonus (Nightwing can "Scry 1") which didn't help me very much.  In the end we still lost because only Brian's deck (who lost Superman and became Green Lantern) was able to deal enough damage to hit the Boss.  I couldn't do anything as my deck couldn't draw enough cards to deal damage, same for Ben and Paul.  This is why all co-op games with Brian is just powering-up Brian games.  Good game itself, but NOT fun game Saturday.

A few short games of Pass The Brain.  The object is to empty your hand.  Everyone is a zombie and some job cards require a brain to complete.  I like it.  I'll be getting it through one of my backed KickStarter games.

We also played a complete game of Aquasphere.  I won, but we all finished 1 point apart from each other in the end.  I could have blown it away if I had known the squidbots make you lose more points when there are more than 1 a zone.  Brian might have won too, if he had paid attention to what I was doing, instead of playing his ipad, and didn't get stuck with no Time tokens left to move.

Season Finale of Walking Dead was awesome!!!  I need to watch it again.

Picked up a 1 litre carton of Maple Milk at Walmart for $2.  Never seen this milk before.  It tastes good.  A subtle sweetness.  When I was drinking it, I was thinking, "It tastes very Canadian".  I think this will go really well with non-sweetened cereal or oatmeal.

Today was the AKB48 members only concert.  3 announcements made:
1. AKB48 40th Single Senbatsu members announced.
2. Kawaeii Rina announced her intent to graduate from AKB.
3. AKB48 member shuffle.  Yuihan moved to Team A as Captain.  Kitahara Rie and Kashiwagi Yuki transfered to new to-be-formed sister group NGT48.  Rie will be Captain of Team N3.  Kashiwagi will be concurrent between Team N3 and AKB48 Team B.  There were other moves, but I mainly cared about these 3 moves.

I finally got my KickStarter copy of Japanese: The Game.  I was one of the last 3 people to get it delivered in Canada.  I thought I was going to get the KickStarter expansion delivered before the core game was.

Useless Transformers News:
Found some Transformers: Combiner Wars Wave 2 at Centrum Walmart today.  Got Aerial Bot AirRaid, and Stunticons Breakdown, Dead End, and Offroad.  Walmart didn't have MotorMaster on the shelf, so no forming Menasor tonight.  Maybe I'll find him at the Geek Market Friday night.

More Useless Gaming News:
Geek Market is this weekend at the Nepean Sportsplex.  It's like a mini-comiccon without guests. 
I'm going Friday night for the last hour.  I only want to see the Lego and vendors, so I'll just pay the $2 admission for the last hour.  (The $2 admission applies to the last hour for each of the 3 days.)
Looks like this years event is way bigger than last year.  Last year it was only in Hall A & B.  This year, it's taking the curling rink and another rink to contain everything.

Clean Car

Had to bring the car in for an oil change this morning.  When I picked it up, it was given a free carwash :)  It was super dirty with lots of grime at the doors.  I haven't washed it since December last year, but now it looks pretty clean.

Love Letter: Batman Edition

Lunch today -> Canadian Pizza.
Picked up a Canadian Pizza from Little Ceasars for lunch today.  It wasn't topped very well.  Very skimpy on the ingredients.  It looked like a pepperoni pizza with leftover bits on it.  Hopefully it's a one thing, as it's normally better topped.

Dinner today -> Red Curry Hot Pot
Boiled some instant red curry with a small can of coconut milk.  Added a variety of frozen hotpot balls, quail eggs, vegetarian balls, mushrooms, and nappa.  Simple quick meal.  The longest part was waiting for the vegetarian balls to deflate.

Useless Gaming News:
Picked up a copy Love Letter: Batman Edition from Comic Book Shoppe today.  Gordon told me we played it wrong at Brian's on the weekend.  There is 1 extra rule on the last page, and it wasn't in the rule section.  If you play Batman and eliminate a Villian (non-Robin card) you instantly get a victory token.  That's why this variant of Love Letter plays to 7 points.

Congee with Abalone

Dinner today -> Congee.
Made congee tonight.  I added almost 1/3 a BBQ chicken, mini-portabello mushrooms, preserved egg, red onions, and sliced abalone!  For the base I used some dashi, abit of salt, and white pepper.  The congee came out really well.  Very tasty and rich.  I was thinking of adding oysters, but the pot had more ingredients than congee already.

All Ottawa Targets will close April 1st, except for the St.Laruent store.  Looks like all leftover items will be consolidated there.

Weekend Report: Fish Roe

Food this weekend ->
Went to my parent's house for lunch on Friday.  Ate fresh rice noodle wraps.

Saturday morning, Ben, Susanna, and I went to the Lindt outlet by St.Laurent.  I picked some goodies.  The big box was on clearance for $19 from $36, because the expiry date was for April.  I also got a mini-version of it for $3.59, and a bunch of balls.

4-Player gaming at Brian's place.  Started with Rue Morgue.  We found the "Orangutan" to be broken.  Ben and I won easily with it.

Next was a quick game of Batman Love Letter.  Just like regular love letter, but in the Batman universe.  We only played to 4 tokens too.  Not sure why they changed the rule to get 7 tokens.  It makes the game way too long for a short game.  I think I prefer the Munchkin version more.

Finally a long game of Dead of Winter.  Gordon was the Betrayer, and none of us knew!  He won too, as everyone else lost the game on the very last turn.

Read a CBC article about "Vampire Crabs".  They look really cool with yellow eyes and purple armour.  I wonder how big they are and if they are good to eat?

FYI: Amiibos are on sale Friday 3 for $30 at Toys R Us.  This coincides with the release of Mario Party 10 on Wii U.

Lunch today -> Donuts and Sushi.
Went to Hazeldean Mall and Walmart at lunch time.  Only picked up mini-donuts and some sushi for lunch.  It was a satisfying combo.

Susanna and I went shopping tonight.  We got to T&T at 8pm and it was too late.  There was nothing good left.  So we hustled to Bayshore for discount foodcourt food.  We got 1 box from Shanghai 360 for $5.  I then got 2 boxes of sushi for $12.  After that, I got 2 boxes of food from Manchu Wok for $7.  Manchu Wok was the best deal.

I picked up some new "Laser-Sight Fly Swatters" at Merivale Target.  They were 50% off, so each of these were $6.49.  Everything at Target is now 40%-50% off, but there isn't much left to pick from.

HAPPY ST.PATRICK'S DAY!!!

Dinner today -> Salad and Chicken.
Made a big salad with red lettuce, spinach, mini-portabello mushrooms, red onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers.  I made it in a smaller bowl but I couldn't mix it, so I flipped it into a big mixing bowl.  It came out looking camera-perfect as in the picture below.  I also ate half a BBQ chicken with the salad.

Read this Game of Thrones article today about the cast describing Season 1-4 in 30 seconds.  The video is a must watch for fans.  Great ending :) "Ding!"

Useless Food News:
Nothing much going on for a Monday.  The 1st highlight of the day was Peter's homemade cookies.  It was a chewy cookie with bakers chocolate, butterscotch chips, and splashes of toffee.  A really good cookie.
The 2nd highlight was the free cone from DQ.  Ate the cone before eating a steak and salmon salad I made from Farmboy.

Food this weekend ->
Went to Fusion on Friday for a very late lunch.  Peter, Steve, Ed, and I showed up at 1:30pm and started ordering right away.  The food orders came out to us so fast, as most of the other customers were finishing up and not ordering.  It was an awesome time to go!  We ordered alot of meat dishes, especially the short ribs.

Saturday I got up at noon and made breakfast.  Toast, maple bacon, and eggs.  Watch some Running Man while eating it.

Tonkatsu flavoured ramen with seaweed miso soup and vegetarian balls.  Boiled the balls in the miso soup and ramen soup base first to deflate them.  While that was cooking, I softened the dry ramen in a bowl of hot water.  After the balls deflated, I added the dried seaweed into the soup base.  Finally drained the ramen and added it into the soup.  It taste really good mixed together.

Sunday night I steamed a Turbot fish in the oven.  Seasoned with some oyster sauce, ginger powder, white pepper, and olive oil.  The fish was a little freezer burnt on the ends, but good.

Useless Gaming News:
Gavin was in town this weekend.  Ben and I dropped by his parent's place for dessert and some gaming.  We ate apple pie (Pi day) with ice cream and Melorange.  Gaming started with some boardgames: Castles of Burgundy, Smash Up, and Munchkin Loot.  Then we moved on to some Magic.  I haven't played Magic since Gavin was last back in town.  It was good to play Magic again, even-though my decks haven't changed in a long while.
