Long Weekend Report -> Happy Canada Day!!!

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

Food this weekend ->
Bought a box of cakes Costco.  The are pre-sliced lemon and raspberry cakes.  OMG, they are so good.  I highly recommend trying it.  I think 1 slice with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream would be a perfect dessert.
Yummy Cakes!

Gavin was visiting from Toronto this weekend.  I thought he was bringing the whole family, but it was just him.  Emi and the kids are in Japan.  We hung out at Gavin's parent's house on Friday night then at Ben's on Saturday.  Saturday morning we went fishing in Pakenham.  The water was very high and rough.
High and Rough River.
We did some fishing as it wasn't raining in Pakenham, but we didn't catch anything.  We couldn't cast far enough to the deeper parts of the river because the water was high into the grass.  The water looked very polluted too.

For lunch we ate BBQ burgers and hot dogs.  We were hoping for fish, but we didn't catch any.  I ate 3 burgers :).

Dinner was more of the same, but I only ate 2 burgers.

Later that we drove to the back of Lowe's to watch the Kanata fireworks.  Alot of other people had the same idea.  We saw lots of glowbugs flying around in the darkness.  It was really cool.  I've never seen them before.  The fireworks started really late at 10:33pm, but it was worth it.  It was really amazing.

Useless Gaming News:
Gavin, Ben, and I played alot of Magic and boardgames Friday and Saturday.  Friday night we started with Clank!  (I had just played it 4-players with the guys at work at lunchtime)  It's a really fun game.  I got killed in the depths again.  I got the Boot of Speed early and was able to get deep into the depths and grab good stuff, but couldn't make it back up.  I think Gavin won.

We also played Imhotep.  We played all A-sides as it was Ben's and Gavin's first game of it.  Ben got an early lead but I won in the end.

On Saturday we played "Betrayal at House on the Hill" with the Expansion.  It took us a long time to trigger the start of the betrayal.  Gavin ended up being the betrayer and almost won.  I defeated him in the last round before he won.  Ben got killed

We also tried out Spy Alley.  Everyone is a spy from a different country in the game.  Game play is either roll a 1D6 or use a Move Card to move along the spaces on the board.  As you land you can buy spy item of your country or another country.  The object is to 1) collect all the spy items of your country and land in your embassy space, or 2) guess the country of the other spies to eliminate them from the game, but if you guess wrong, you are out (unless you use the free guess from Spy Alley).  It's a simple and pretty fun game.
