Dinner today -> Steamed Salmon on Shanghai Bok Choi.
Finally finished off the last of the salmon.  Steamed the salmon on top of some bok choi with a bit of oil, soy sauce, and oyster sauce.

The Ottawa ComicCon 2013 tickets went on sale today.  Ben and I got our tickets.  We're just going for 1 day this year, Saturday.

Useless Shopping News:
According to a CBC article, a bunch of Best Buy and Future Shop stores are closing, including the big one at the old Montreal Forum!  They want to switch to using mobile Kiosks instead.  I don't know if that is a good idea.  I like to pick up stuff that I want right away instead of waiting for it in the mail.

Salmon Overload

Lunch today -> Seared Salmon Tail, Sashimi, Spicy Salmon.
Went home for lunch today.  I pan seared some salmon tail, finished off the salmon sashimi and spicy salmon.  Still have a whole other salmon fillet to eat tomorrow.  I'm starting to get sick of salmon.

Snack today -> DQ Raspberry Ice-cream Brownie Cake.
Last Saturday was the DQ customer appreciation day.  Almost everything was 50% off.  I would have posted it but I only found out when I saw the sign Saturday morning.  I picked up a Raspberry Brownie Cake.  The lady who was after me in line bought 10 cakes!  I should have bought a box of Ice-cream bars.
This cake is OK.  The chocolate on the outside is not very good.  It's gooey soft and thick.  The insides was good.

Perfectly Clean Teeth

Had my dentist appointment today for check-up and cleaning.  There wasn't much for him to clean, as I've got perfectly clean teeth again ;).  My dentist did find that I had chipped a tiny bit of my molar, and he guess correctly that I shouldn't be chomping down on lobster shells :)

Dinner today -> Salmon Sashimi and Spicy Salmon.
Bought some salmon from Costco today.  To make some spicy salmon I cubed some of the salmon belly and added 2 spoon fulls of mayo and 1 spoon of Sriracha. Sliced some other salmon to eat as sashimi.  Made a little rice to go with it.

2hr+ Wait.

Was at the doctor's today.  My appointment was at noon, so I got there early at 11:45am.  There were only 5 people ahead of me.  I sat and waited, and waited, and waited.  I think I fell asleep for a liitle bit.  Anyways, I didn't see the doctor until 2PM!!!  I was done in 10mins too!

Dinner today -> Shanghai Bok Choi and Sausages.
Doc said I need to reduce my starch and sugar intake.  I don't think I eat very many sweets, but I like starch, especially rice.  Tonight is just meat and veggies.

Picked up the new Transformers Prime: Beast Hunter Prime and Predaking, Generations Soundblaster, and the new Botshots Series 2 on the weekend.  Couldn't find any Kre-O packs anywhere.

I immediately broke the Ironhide Botshot :(  The instructions said to wind it up with 2 rotations, so I did, and I snapped the spring.  I never got to see Ironhide's spinning action.

Food this weekend ->
Made some stew Friday night and it lasted most of the weekend.  Stewing beef, red potatoes, organic carrots, garlic, red onions, and shitake mushrooms.

Friday morning was Day2 of the AKB48 Request Hour Setlist Best 100".  "Candy" ranked in at #62!  So low!  My 6 votes went here.  Lemon replacing Yuka doesn't work for me. I was hoping for Yukirin or Rie.

Day 3 on Saturday.  I almost missed it.  My alarm didn't go off because it was set to go off on weekdays only.  I just work up naturally at 4:05am.  I made it in time to see "Everyday Kachuusha" centered by Kasai!

Day 4 Sunday morning.  It was an interesting Request Hour this year.  Alot of top AKB singles ranked really low while stage songs finished high.  "Heavy Rotation" did not 3-peat and finished at #4, but it was performed in animal cosplay!

I just watched an episode of Storage Wars.  One of the guys won a locker with Magic cards in it.  It include a Mox Pearl, Time Twister, and a Black Lotus.  A dealer appraised those 3 cards to be only worth $600!  He completely ripped off the storage guy!

BBQ Chicken Feet, Not Beef Tripe

Lunch today -> Panda Garden Buffet.
Went to Panda Garden Buffet today for lunch.  I met Ed's friend Sue, who is a regular reader of my blog (Thanks!).  I didn't get the chance to ask her, but I was wondering if she's been converted into an AKB48 fan :)
I only ate 3 plates today, and most of it was sushi, chicken wings, mussels, and BBQ chicken feet.  The BBQ chicken feet was really good at Panda.

Reza was following me getting food, and he saw that I took some BBQ chicken feet, so he took some too.  When he ate it, he thought it looked like little fingers but tasted good.  He asked me what he was eating and I told him it was BBQ chicken feet :)  He told me the sign said Beef Tripe.  I looked later and I told him the sign was mixed up with the dish beside it, LOL.  I don't think he finished the feet.

Stayed late at CMC today, and didn't feel like making stew so I threw in some frozen Highliner Beer Battered Fish into the oven.  I think I was tired from getting only 4hrs sleep today and 5hrs yesterday.

Picked up 2 Kre-O combiners at the new Kanata Walmart: Bruticus and Superion.  Predaking was also there, but it was opened.  Didn't see Devastator there.  I'm on vacation Friday so I'll go hunting for Kre-O blind packs and the other combiners at Barrhaven and Merivale.

Day 1 of the "AKB48 Request Hour Setlist Best 100" concert was this morning at 4am(EST).  I was surprised some of the big singles like "Beginner", "RIVER", and "Kaze wa Fuiteiru" dropped rank way down to the 80's this year.  One of my favorites "Ponytail to Shushu" dropped from #25 to #80 this year.

The chicken pie and beef pie were 2 for $2.  I got some fresh french bread to make the garlic cheese bread.  The Cracker Barrel cheese didn't melt like I thought it would.  Maybe I need to shred it?

I got up at 4:30 this morning to watch the AKB48 Unit Festival.  It was pretty good.

Itano stood out throughout the whole show.  Kasai only performed 1 song and I don't she participated in any of the other group songs too :(

Scarring Mushroom Caps

Dinner today -> Mizutaki
I threw together chicken drumsticks, white mushrooms, shitake mushrooms, and nappa to make an impromptu mizutaki (aka chicken hotpot).  Lots of flavour from the shitake mushrooms, and the nappa adds a peppery crunch.

Weekend Report: Only 2 Games

Not much going on this weekend.  I went to work for most of Saturday, but I did get some gaming in.  Caught up on a bunch of AKB shows too.

Food this weekend ->
I made a big batch of pasta with tomato sauce, bacon, mushrooms, and sweet orange pepper.

Fried some leftover rice with eggs and some frozen vegetables.  Finished with a ketchup smiley.

Useless Gaming News:
5-player gaming at Brian's.  We only got 2 games in from when we started around 7:30pm, until when we ended at 2:10am.  The 1st game was "Touch of Evil".  We played cooperatively and with advance rules.  Gordon didn't do much during the game except ride his horse and destroy most of the guns (again).

We need to play this non-cooperatively.  I think it would be way more fun.  Co-op is just us moving around powering up, sharing equipment, and then facing the boss. 

We then played "Zombies 4".  That game took forever because the very last tile was the tile we were all waiting for.  We all had a chance to win, but Brian came from behind and won.

Beast Hunters Found, Kre-O Not.

Dinner today -> Leftover Roast Beef.
Took my leftover roast beef to my parents house for dinner because there was too much meat for me.  It actually tastes better overnight and the meat was still very tender and soft.  The Coke did it's magic to breakdown the meat fibers.

Boiling Water with Kelly Kettle

Dinner today -> Bacon Wrapped Beef Roast.
I bacon wrapped a beef roast :)  I put it in my stone cooker with some onions, garlic, and a can of Coke.

Topped it with some ketchup and cooked it for 1.5 hrs.

It came out a nice medium rare.

I made some garlic cheese bread too.  The roast flavour was only OK.  It was alittle too sweet for me.

Steve brought in his Kelly Kettle today.  We used it outside to boil water for coffee and hot chocolate.

To me, the Kelly Kettle seems to be a modified Chinese hot pot.  It's a kettle with a chimney up the middle.  This helps boil the water really fast.

I remembered I had some Royal Milk Tea powder packs at my desk.  I had a nice hot cup of it today in the afternoon.  It's a milk flavoured tea that is not very sweet.

It wasn't enough, so I then took the leftover oden broth and made it into congee.  Added a couple of preserved eggs too.  The congee was really flavourful.

I used daikon, mini-red potatoes, devil tongue, konnyaku noodle knots, abalone, white mushrooms, straw mushrooms, and sliced beef.  The leftovers should taste even better tomorrow, when they soak-in more flavour.

I put together my nano block buildings: Kaminarimon (red) and Kinkaku-ji (yellow)  These mini lego type blocks and are so cool.  I still want to get a few others, including Tokyo Tower and the Sky Tree.
