Happy Holidays!!!

Christmas has come and gone.  I hope everyone enjoyed it.
Our family feasted in Montreal this year.  We started eating on Dec 24th around 4pm and didn't stop until 1:30am!

Desserts at 1am.  The Score Cake was dropped but was still good.  The log cake was a "Limoncello" from Les Delices Lafrenaie in MTL.  The Limoncello cake is really really good!  I highly recommend it.

This year's NHK Kouhaku starts on Monday 5:15am EST.  AKB48 and SKE48 will perform separately this year.  Right after, AKB48 and Kasai Tomomi will perform at CDTV Special.

Dinner today -> Sushi.
There was a super deal on salmon at Superstore, so I got a large fillet for only $5.  I made basic rolls: 3 salmon rolls and 1 crispy salmon skin roll.  You can call this practice for out family Christmas party.  If the world ends, this is a pretty good last meal.

What the *Beep* is going on!

There is a house in Glen Cairn (I think it was 15 Ricky Place?) that has a Christmas Light show.  Drive up and tune in 92.7 and the lights will trigger to the music.  It's really cool.  This is how lights should be done!  Steve is probably drooling with envy.

Threw this quickly together, before going Christmas shopping with Susanna.  I think I'm done shopping now?  I just got alot of wrapping to do.

I was at the Super Walmart in Kanata.  New Fall of Cyberton combaticons were on the shelf.  Guess which combaticon was missing:  Swindle!  What the *beep* is going on!?!?  Why are people only buying Swindle!  It must be a conspiracy!  There is no other answer.

Bison Steak

Lunch today -> Bison Steak
Went out for lunch today at The Crazy Horse steakhouse.  It was a lunch for Jean and Gary who were layed-off a few weeks ago.
I ordered the 8oz Bison steak with a side of garlic smashed red potatoes and onion petals.  The bison was leaner, but tasted exactly like a regular steak.  I thought it would have a more "game" taste or something, but it didn't.  I could have gotten a bigger steak for the same price.

Lunch today -> Cheeseburger and Fries.
Ordered a cheeseburger with fries for lunch.  I topped the burger with tomatoes and spinach.  Taste good with spinach.  I should get this more.

Today was the AKB48 version Kohaku Uta Gassen.  Takamina's Team White vs Mariko's Team Red.  The girls did a live performance of Heavy Rotation for the last show of Hey!Hey!Hey!

The concert wasn't streamed this year, but Team Red won.  This was Masuda Yuka's last performance as an AKB48 member.

Weekend Report: Red Curry

Food this weekend ->
We were doing stuff for our grandparent Christmas present at my parents house.  I decided to make Red Curry with Chicken, Lobster, and Orange & Yellow Peppers.

It was really simple to make and was really good on rice.  I would even say that my dish rivals Baan Thai's dish.

Useless Gaming News:
Did some 4 player gaming on Saturday night.  We played "Merchants and Marauders" and "Last Night on Earth".
"Merchants and Marauders" is a game where players captain a ship to buy/sell goods, complete missions, investigate rumours, and/or become a pirate to raid other ships.  It's a long game and we didn't finish our game, but I like the game.

Then we played "Last Night on Earth" with a new expansion "Survival of the Fittest".  Ben and Brian were the human players, while Gordon and I were the zombie players.
I was able to draw and play all the "Last night on Earth" cards.  LOL  It causes any male and female character on the same square to miss a turn, so Jake the Drifter and Nurse Becky were stuck with no turns 4 times!

Team Surprise Banners

Got another package in the mail today.  I got me some AKB48 Team Surprise Pachinko Banners!  I got these of eBay and they are really neat.  These are the advertisement flags they hang outside the pachinko parlours.  There are 12 in the series and so far I have 4 and I've won another 5.  Hopefully the other 3 will show up for auction.

I finished watching Day 1 of the AKB48 Tokyo Dome Concert.  This the performance of "Blue Rose" by French Kiss members (Yukirin, Mocchi, and Akicha) + Kasai!

I wrapped my first gift this Christmas.  Some chocolates for buddies at CMC MTL.  I made the card too.

Lunch today -> Fries.
Made a trip to Canadian Tire at lunch to get some road salt and Santa stuff.  Picked up some chip wagon fries on the way out :)  Dropped by Farmboy too, but the sushi there isn't good anymore.

Dinner today -> Wasabi Lemon Steak.
Cooked a steak for dinner today.  Sliced it up and put it on rice.  Then I topped the steak slices with dabs of wasabi and freshly squeezed lemon.  It was good.  I copied this style from a Japanese cooking show, except the steak was BBQed.

Peanut-butter Rice Crispy topped with Chocolate Fudge Thingies

Breakfast today -> Sweets.
Bob brought in home-made sweets his wife made for everyone to enjoy at CMC this morning.  There were lots of cookies, cinimon buns, muffins, and "peanut-butter rice crispy topped with chocolate fudge thingies"!  Those peanut-butter thingies (in the top containers of the tree) are the best!  I ate 4 :)

I got the latest AKB48 Puccho candy and straps on the weekend.  The flavour is strawberry this time, and it's a nice change from the usual rainbow flavour. 
I've opened 1 box so far and I think I got 2 chase Yuko figs.  They came in box #9, but #9 is normally Jurina (which I got in another box #9).

Weekend Report: Double #15 XL

I got some KNH pho #15 XL on Friday night.  Got my order in record time again.

5 player gaming at Ben's on Saturday night.  Started with Cosmic Encounter but we played it wrong.  We missed 1 crucial rule.
Then we played Star Trek: Expeditions.  It's an alright game.  Took more time to play it than I thought it would.  It's also got limited re-playability.

Christmas Lunch 2012

Lunch today -> CMC Christmas Lunch.
Our Annual Free Christmas lunch in the CMC cafeteria today.  The full spread was there: turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, veggies, salad, fruit, and lots of desserts.  I took abit of everything and was full.  I should have grabbed a few more cream puffs to snack on later at my desk.

Fry Safety First

I was so tired today.  I stayed up last night til 3am just to make sure I win an item on eBay (I won).  Then I went to bed.  I was suddenly awakened at 4:30am, because my fire alarm's battery backup was low, so it kept beeping every 30 seconds to let me know.  I shut the door but the beeping went through the door!  Hushing it would only last 10 minutes.

I made a trip to Walmart to get some stupid 9V batteries for the fire alarm and dropped by Glen's Fries for some fries.  As usual, I seat belted the fries in, before leaving the parking lot.  Fry safety first!  Don't want to lose any precious and delicious fries to the floor on stops and turns :)

Dinner today -> Steak and Shrimp on Rice.
Cooked and sliced a steak and put it on a bed of instant rice.  Added some defrosted shrimp (They are on sale for $5 a bag at Superstore ($5 off)) and a few pan cooked carrots.

Plan B: Baan Thai

Lunch today -> Baan Thai.
Lunch Plan A was to go to Rideau Restaurant.  Since people started dropping out for various reasons, we went with Plan B: Baan Thai (The online menu is not exactly the same as the Kanata menu).  Marc, Ed, and I ordered 3 dinner sized dishes to share with some rice.

We got a Pork Stir Fry.  I think we got spice level 3, but it wasn't spicy at all.  This dish was so-so.

Red Curry with Chicken, spice level 2.  This dish was really good.  The coconut red curry sauce is really good on rice.  Maybe spice level 3 next time.

Pad Thai with Beef, spice level 4.  The dinner size is a good large portion with lots of beef.  It's really good and level 4 is probably the perfect level without getting too spicy.  The initial bite is a sweet pad thai, but then a few seconds later the heat kicks in.  My recommended dish.  Red Curry would be my #2.

Blood Veins

Went to get a blood test this morning.  The guy couldn't find any veins in both my arms.  He had to find and use one on the back of my hand!  That poke actually hurt and he said that there is a higher chance of bruising when blood is taken from the hand.
Also he told me it's not eat and drink anything for 12 hrs, it's only not eat anything for 12hrs.  Your suppose to drink water if your thirsty.  The liquid helps the veins puff up.  This is probably why every time I get a blood test, it's so hard to find my veins!

A couple "Grill'em" sausages in some Italian Hoggie buns.  Just nuke and eat.  I prefer the "Grill'em" sausages, because the skin on them "snaps" when you bite into them.  I believe this means the sausages are cased in real intestine, and not the artificial casing.

Weekend Report: Bundle Not Working

My Cable TV and Internet wasn't working most of the weekend.  I exchanged my Rogers box and my Rogers router for new ones at the store.  TV returned, but the internet didn't comeback til late Saturday afternoon.  I couldn't call for customer support, because my phone is with Rogers and it didn't have a tone either.  At times like these, I wish I didn't bundle everything with Rogers.
