Ate a leftover half a Franks #1 sandwich for lunch.  There were new guys working and they put a ton of meat in the sandwich.  I was so big, I had to split it in half to eat.

Wore my new glow-in-the-dark skeleton t-shirt for Halloween to work today.  I like it.  I think I'll wear it as regular clothing :)

Weekend Report -> Peach Pie.

Food this weekend ->
Tried out a couple new desserts this weekend.  First was a Peach Pie from Farmboy.  Susanna and my parents say it's really good and rare for Farmboy to make it.  I found one while there with Susanna and we split a whole pie.

I got to say it is really good.  Lots of big pieces of peach in it.  I think the crust was abit under cooked and soggy, but overall it is very good.

I also got these mini-parfait treats at Sobey's.  It's a thick cream (almost like sour cream in thickness texture) on top of some caramel sauce (?) in a glass cup.  I ate one and it was very satisfying.  They also had a chocolate flavour.

Daikon Beef Stew

Breakfast today -> Mini Blue Berry Muffins.
I picked up this package of mini blue berry muffins at Sobey's for breakfast.  I was planning on eating the whole box, but I stopped myself after 5.  I figured 4 mini muffins = 1 big muffin, so it wasn't too bad.  They are pretty good, but the Tim Horton muffins are better and more moist.

Dinner today -> Daikon Beef Stew.
I've been boiling and cooling some stewing meat and 4 soup bones over the past 3 days.  I made a great broth and I only added some salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed rosemary, oyster sauce, and shiracha.  I removed the boiled out oil plates before pulling out the delicious marrow from the soup bones and chopping it up.  So the only oil left is the flavourful oil from the marrow.  Last night I added some young daikon slices I got from Farmboy.  Now today, the daikon was full of beef flavour and ready to eat

I poured the broth, beef, and daikons over some fresh rice.  It was really good.

Depending on how much this is, I may be getting all of the Playmobils Ghostbuster toys.  It looks really neat.

Isle of Skye Board Game.

Lunch today -> Rideau.
Ran an errand at lunchtime today (bought some Philips Scene Switch lightbulbs at HomeDepot.  Now available in Canada).  I went to Rideau for some takeout lunch.  Got beef chow mein and dry fried beef rice noodles and ate them at my parent's house.  Checked in on the green tomatoes there and 1 is starting to turn red.

Dinner today -> Chicken Tenders.
Late dinner because of afterwork gaming tonight.  I went to Loblaws and picked up some 50% chicken tenders.  Then I hit Farmboy to get some pitas and lettuce, so I can make chicken wraps.

Useless Gaming News:
Played 3-player Isle of Skye after work.  It's pretty fun.  It's a tile placement game that includes some tile buying stragtegy.  Each game is different because only 4 of the 16 scoring tiles are used.  We played the game twice. 
In the first game we screwed up the scoring of the 3+ tile closed land scoring.  We didn't know it was only for 3+ tiles.  We were scoring them on 1 and 2 tiles.  When we discovered the error, we started a new game.
In the 2nd game everything was going fine until round 5 of 6.  We weren't sure how to play round 6 as there wasn't a round 6 spot on the board.  That's when we discovered we were playing on the 5-player side of the board!  We decided to finish it there and do final scoring after round 5.  Evan won, but we didn't play a correct playthrough game of the game yet.

Useless Food News:
One of my home-grown tomatoes has finally turned red.  I sectioned and ate most of it.  It was kind of mushy on the inside.  Maybe I waited too long for it to turn red or it was cold damaged?  Hopefully the others aren't like this one.

Dinner today -> Big Bone BBQ.
Got the Monday special today.  I wanted to eat this all weekend but had to wait.

I ordered and got home just in time to watch Supergirl.  I destroyed all of the poutine and only ate 3 ribs and 3 wings :)

Useless Japan News:
Backed this Kickstarter project on the weekend, 3D printed maps of Tokyo.  I ordered G-05 Tokyo Tower and C-07 Akihabara (of course) :).  I would have gotten Odaiba too, if they had it for offer.

Weekend Report -> Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere

Food this weekend ->
Friday was Apple Day.  We had apple pie, apple crumble, apple cider and freshly picked apples with stuff to dip them in.  The apple pie and crumble disappeared within minutes of me setting it up!

Didn't make anything special to eat on the weekend.  I made some chinese sausage rice, but the picture was too dark.

Useless TV News:
Watched the Walking Dead Season 7 premiere on Sunday night.  It was a really intense and brutal episode.  Apparently it still goes downhill from here for the remaining group.  The Talking Dead afterwards had the full cast and was good to watch too.

Dinner today -> Crab Cake Stuffed Mushroom Caps and Meat Sauce on Rice.
Made a meat sauce with chunks of portabella mushrooms.  I was going to make spaghetti for it, but I still had some leftover rice so I scooped some sauce over the rice instead.  I also got some crab cake stuffed mushroom caps at Sobeys.  I pan fried and steamed them.  They are good, but lacked some salt.

Some news about the new Nintendo console was released today.  It's called the Nintendo Switch.  It looks really cool so far, especially how it supports multiplayer portablility.  I think I will be pre-ordering one of these systems.

Lunch today -> Korean Food.
Went to Hana Hana at lunchtime.  Picked up a Korean Pancake (A1) and some spicy Tteokbokki (A6).  The car smelled awesome while driving back to work.

The pancake portion was big and it was very good, but didn't have very much seafood bits in it.  Also some of the green onion stalks were abit old, so it was tough to chew.  The tteobokki was good too.  lots of rice sticks and good amount of fish cake.

Snack today -> Bacon Poutine Chips.
Tried the limited Lays Bacon Poutine chips.  They are pretty good.  Usually the bacon flavoured chips have overpowering bacon flavour, but this one doesn't.  The gravy flavour really comes out with a hint of bacon.

Gaming after work today.  We played a new game: Camel Cup.  It's a fast 30 minute game where you bet on a camel race.  We learned quickly that anything can happen and any camel can win.  Lots of strategy and luck involved.  Fun too.  We played it 3 times

Green Tomatoes

Harvested my tomatoes today.  They're still green and they've been green forever.  I don't think there are any more sunny and warm days for them to ripen on the vine.  I stuck them in a box lined with paper.  I then covered them with more paper and added some bananas.  The bananas are suppose to help them ripen faster.

Lunch today -> Frank's Fries.
Impromptu trip to Canadian Tire today at lunchtime.  So I hit Frank's Fry Truck afterwards and got a large fry with salt vinegar.  Haven't had it inwhile and it's still good.  $6 for a large now.  I think it went up in price abit.

Dinner today -> Curry Ramen.
Made a couple packs of instant ramen and added it to the remaining leftover curry.  Mixed it together and topped it with a raw egg.  It was good and filling, but I'm kind of getting sick of curry now.

Weekend Report: 3-Day Curry

Food this weekend ->
Made a big batch of curry to eat all weekend.  I started on Wednesday by boiling and cooling the leftover roast rib bones to get all the meat, marrow, and bone flavour out of it.  The meat broke down and became very tender and the broth thickened up due to the bone jelly.
I added potatoes, carrots and huge 50% off portabella mushrooms.

Then I added a couple eggs and the Japanese curry rue.  It became nice and thick with lots of meat bits.

Scooped it over some vinegared white rice.  I was so good.  Took 3 days to make this but it was totally worth it.

Useless TV News:
Binged watched all of Luke Cage this weekend.  It's really good (except for the 2nd last episode - It was really slow).  I recommend watching it.  

Useless Gaming News:
4-Player Pandemic Legacy on Friday night.  We played months June and July.  We beat June on the 2nd try, but we lost both games of July.  Alot of cities in Asia fell to the Faded (aka zombies).  Next time we head in August on a loss and and it will only get tougher.

Got these Limited Halloween Cheetos called Bag of Bones.  They are good.  A white cheddar cheeto and they molded to form a skeleton.  I'll probably get more.

I tried out the Mountain Dew Baja Blast.  It's nothing spectacular.  I think it is alot like 7-up, but less citrus flavour and less sweet.

Useless Toy New:
Got my package of Lego stuff from Sears in today.  I got Poe's X-Wing and a couple of flashlight keychains of Vader and Emmet.

The packing of these items is horrible!  The Lego box was wrapped in a plain plastic bag with no bubble wrap.  Because of this, the box was unprotected and got squished.  The keychains were slightly better, as each was in a bubble wrapped envelope and shipped together in another plastic envelope.  I paid for shipping so I expected a packaging box with all the items in it from a large company like Sears.  I probably won't order from Sears again and I don't recommend others either.  I'll just price match stuff at Walmart or Toys R Us.

New Drink Flavours

Lunch today -> Little Ceasars.
Got the $11 Box from Little Ceasars.  It includes 1 deep dish pepperoni pizza and 1 deep dish garlic bread with marinara sauce.  Not bad for $11.  Very greasy.  I think I will stick to the regular pizzas.

Got some U.S. drinks from Suzanne yesterday.  Melo Yello (I think I've tried before, but I don't remember how it tastes.), Dewshine (new to me), and Mountain Dew Baja Blast (also new).  I'll try these by the end of the weekend.

Went to Loblaws after finishing "after work boardgames" today.  I was there around 8pm, right when the butcher kid went to put 50% off stickers on the near expiring foods.  I was lucky and got myself another beef roast.  I might slice this into steaks and freeze it... or I might make another roast tomorrow?

I got a slice of Ed's apple pie to sample.  It was pretty good.  It tasted alot like Steve's.  Ed told me afterwards, that it was because it was Steve's recipe!

Re-heated some roast vegetables and leftover roast beef in the microwave.  I added a pack of instant rice too.

These are the drinks we got from Watertown: 3 different Mountain Dew's.

Mountain Dew Pitch Black, Mango Heat, and Code Red.

Pitch Black tastes like black grape.  Not bad.
Mango Heat has a strong mango taste.  I don't like mango.  If I did, I would like it.
Code Red, usual cherry flavour.  Not sure why they stopped making the cans in Canada.  And I can only find the bottles at Dollar Stores.  They should have kept Code Red over Blue Voltage.

Long Weekend Report -> Canadian Thanksgiving

Food this weekend ->
Gavin and his family were in town this weekend.  We went out for lunch at Sansotei Ramen.  It's similar to what I ate in Japan.  Very good ramen.

I got the Miso Black:  The waitress said I could even eat the flower.  I ate 1 petal.  Didn't taste of anything and had the texture of boiled lettuce.

We went hiking in the Gatineau Park on Sunday and then ate Pho.  That's when my phone battery died, so no pics of the food, but it wasn't anything special.  Afterwards we ate Strawberry Whip Cake (from Swiss Pastries) for Emi's Birthday.  She's pregant with a girl too.  Congratulations!

I also made a nice roast beef this weekend with my 50% off meat.  It was cooked to medium rare, according to my thermometer, but I think it was abit over cooked to a medium.  I'm going to use the leftover bones to make a soup.

We played 3-player Artic Scavengers.  It's a different type of decking building game than Dominion.  It's pretty good.  I would play it more.  We played Magic after that.

On Thanksgiving Monday: Susanna, Ben, and I went to Watertown for a US shopping trip.  We went to Salmon Run Mall, Walgreens, Home Depot, Walmart, and Target.  For lunch we went to Sonic's.  I got a cheesy bacon dog in a pretzel bun and foot long dog.  Got a tasty Strawberry Limeade for a drink.
