According to Gordon, Nathan has the following hobbies :)

• warden of the house and making sure everyone in the household gets no more than 2 hours of sleep per night and no more than 1 hour straight
• making sure to save enough extra pee so he can whiz in all directions like a loose firehose when trying to change his diapers
• screaming at the top of his lungs like he was auditioning for a heavy metal band
• turning normal humans into walking zombies without needing to infect them

Weekend Report: AKB48 Members Attacked

Didn't do much this weekend, except work.  It's pretty handy to remotely log in and work from home.  I also watched alot of Fairy Tail anime when I got tired of work.  I just finished season 1 in the past week.  I'm way behind reading the manga, but the anime is really good.

Food this weekend ->
Made some fried rice with my leftover chicken rice.

I added some frozen veggies, eggs, green onion, and polish sausage.

I also tried to Shake n' Bake a Turbot.  The powder/crumbs don't stick to the fish's skin very well, but it turned out not bad.  I made it with a Ranch version.

Idol News:
On Sunday, 2 AKB48 members were attacked at the Handshake Event by a 24yr old man wielding a 50cm saw.  Iriyama Anna and Kawaei Rina were the victims.  Both have broken right hands, cuts, and Iriyama also had lacerations to her head.  They each had 3 hour surgeries but are OK now.  The attacker has been captured and charged with attempted murder.  A couple articles about it here and here.

Emptied 2 Ink Tubes in a Pen

First time ever, I completely used up the ink in my pen from beginning to end.  Not just 1 tube of ink, but 2 of them.  I used up the black ink before Christmas, and the red ink was used up today.  This pen has really good grip and the ink flows smoothly.  Too bad you can't buy it here.  I ordered it from Japan, along with a few extra :)

Dinner today -> Chicken Rice
Steam some salted chicken in with the rice I cooked.  The rice absorbs all the extra chicken flavour that oozes out of the drumsticks.  Very tasty.

Useless Idol News:
Yuko bought her 1st AKB48 CD "Labrador Retriever" and she is going to use the ballot inside to vote in the election.  She only bought 1 CD and I only bought 4 CDs; unlike this crazy fan!

AKB48's 36th single "Labrador Retriever" was released yesterday and was performed on Ichiban Show.  Not liking the song that much or the official video, but I do prefer the live performance.

I still like last year's election song "Koi suru Fortune Cookie" alot.  The short version was also performed.

Got some takeout from OX Head.  It was the Ox Head special vermicelli.  There was alot of food in the container, especially the amount of meat in there.

Today the AKB48 preliminary election results for the 37th single were revealed.  Last year's winner, Sasshi, is in the lead by alot.

Useless Softball News:
2nd game of the season and CMC Strike Fighters played DRS.  We took a 20-0 lead after 2 innings, but they came clawing back and beat us 28-34.  We lost Shannon after 2 innings and that's when we fell apart.  We really need to stop doing underhand lobs to Denise at 2nd.  Just throw it normally and she will catch it.
Even with the loss, I hit 5-for-5: 1 Triple, 1 Double, 2 Singles, and 1 Walk.  I think I got 2 or 3 RBIs too.  My triple hit the fence and I thought it was going to be a home run.
BTW: I watched this batting video Steve recommended and changed my hitting style to use a "snap" in my swing (and a overlap grip).  It helped alot and added a ton of power to my hitting.

Long Weekend Report: More Game of Thrones Season 3 Cards

Food this weekend ->
Tried baking a salmon fillet in the oven with some 5min fries.  It came out OK.  The salmon was raw in the middle.  I guess you can't cook salmon in the oven with 5 minute fries.  I also made a small bit of spicy salmon sushi topping.

Got a couple of small canning lobsters from FarmBoy.  I asked for females :)  They were cold, but nuking them for only 1 minute got them nice and hot.

I also picked up some Frank's #1 sandwiches.  The girls made them with lots of meat as usual.  I disassembled one into 2 more sandwiches.  I was super full after destroying these.

Game of Thrones: Season 3 Cards

Dinner today -> Mapo Tofu with Toast.
Got some ground pork and med-firm tofu to make some Mapo Tofu.  I added alot of chili garlic, chili bean paste, Tabasco sauce, and chili oil; so it was fairly spicy.

Picked up a couple boxes of Game of Thrones: Season 3 cards from Miraj Trading.  They have boxes for $74.95 ($5 cheaper than most other card stores.)

Montreal beat Boston 3-1 in Game 7 and win the series!  My hands were sweating while watching the 3rd period.  Now they face the New York Rangers on Saturday afternoon at home.

Today was the CMC Strike Fighters 2014 Softball Season Opener.  Our first opponent was "Sons of Pitches", a new team to our division.  We won in the bottom of the last inning 8-7, in a very close game.
I hit 0-for-3.  Popped fly out in the mid-right field for the first 2 at-bats.  The 3rd at-bat was a deep fly ball 2 steps from the center field fence.  I was so close to a home run.

I got mini-replica of Asuna's sword from "Sword Art Online" anime.  I forgot I had pre-ordered it last year.

Useless Lego News:
I had to go to the bank at lunchtime, and I stopped by Centrum Walmart afterwards.  I picked up a couple more Simpson's Lego packs.  I spent a few minutes feeling the packs for short legs (I'm missing all the kids).  I lucked out and got Ralph and Lisa.  I think I might go for the whole set, as now I'm only missing Milhouse and Nelson.

Wilted Snapdragons

Dinner today -> Egg and Yoshinoya Style Beef on Rice.
Stir-fried some onions and thinly sliced beef together in a pan and finished it with some "No Limit" BBQ sauce.  I was thinking Yoshinoya beef bowl when I was making it.  Poured it over fresh hot white rice with a runny scrambled egg.  And yes, it was yummy yummy in my tummy :)

Montreal beat Boston 4-0 in Game 6!!!  Game 7 is Wednesday night!  Glad it wasn't tomorrow as I got my softball season opener.

This article talks about the Snapdragons flowers.  They look nice in full bloom, but I think they are even cooler when they wilt!  Maybe I should grow some.

Weekend Report: Happy Mother's Day!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

The family went to Fusion DimSum & Sushi for lunch on the weekend to celebrate Ben's Birthday and Mother's Day.  The menu had Chinese in it for all the items, so that helped alot with the ordering for my Grandparents.  Our table was filled with dishes as all the food arrived fast and at almost the same time.  The salmon rose sushi was very good as were the short ribs.

Useless Comic News:
I went to the Ottawa Comic Con on Friday (cheapest day).  Nobody else wanted to go this year, so Julie went with me.  Looked like this year's con was bigger as it used up more floor space.  We noticed alot of people were dressed up as different Doctors from Doctor Who, Stormtroopers, and Attack on Titan characters.  There was also a couple dressed up as a really good Enzo and Andraia from Reboot, but the most unique costume was Ms.Friz from the Magic School Bus.  She looked just like her with alot of detail, and was carrying a mini-school bus and Lizzy.  One Doctor had a remote controlled K-9 too.

The autograph lines for Christopher Lloyd, Amanda Tapping, and Bruce Campbell were long.  I decided not to get Christopher Lloyd's autograph.  He was $60 for an autograph, and I wanted him to sign a Lego Delorean, but that would have cost me an additional $40 from PlayValue.
We stayed for few hours but I ended up getting nothing for myself.  I wanted to pick up a shirt, but nothing stood out to me, and most of the designs were the same as last year.  Julie did pick out her early birthday present that I got for her.  She wanted a Moonglow necklace.  The necklace has picture of the moon in the phase at her birth date and year.  It also glows in the dark.  It's actually really cool.

Roast Chicken

Dinner today -> Roast Drumsticks with Veggies.
I roasted some chicken drumsticks on some potatoes, carrots, and onions in my stone cooker.  Just basic Kraft Chicken and Rib BBQ sauce on the chicken.

The liquid drained into the veggies and semi boiled them.  I removed most of the liquid and re-roasted them.

Useless Softball News:
1st CMC Strike Fighters practice was tonight.  We did abit of fielding, hitting, and then a scrum.  The new bat Steve bought is amazing.  I'm just tapping the ball and it launches.  I'm counting on getting some home runs this year with this bat.

Useless Gaming News:
Got my KickStarted Coconuts Crazy Monkey game in the mail.  Surprised I had to pay a customs charge of $13.20.  Sometimes my AKB stuff and Transformers stuff has customs, but never had customs on Kickstarted stuff before.
The game looks really fun game with the launching of mini-coconuts everywhere.

Simpson's Lego Bump Code Only Works for Serial 601B4 Packs

Got some Frank's on Sunday to fill my lunch needs for Monday and Tuesday.  There was a new guy training there, so the usual girls didn't make my sandwiches.  I was worried that the sandwich wouldn't be as full with as much meat, as when the girls make it, but he did a good job.  Still lots of meat.

Made some quick hot pot with a bunch of different fish cake types, corn, baby bok choi, and mushrooms.  The one at the bottom that's white and shaped like a drop is really good.

Went to Walmart at lunch and got some more Simpson's Lego.  Yesterday's code doesn't work with all packs.  It only works with serial "601B4" packs.  I found Mr.Burns and Krusty with the code, but felt for Flanders.  I thought Itchy was Lisa, but I was completely off.  The club somehow felt like the saxophone.

The Robot Hockey Awards Ceremony and lunch was held on Friday at Rideau Restaurant.  Only 5 of us could make it. 
The Championship Trophy and a chocolate Stanley cup was awarded to K-Lowe.  A chocolate Stanley cup was also awarded to iBear's Maulers for the Consolation Champion.

I also got some Wendy's.  2 large chili's and 2 junior bacon cheeseburgers.  I drowned some cheesy gold fish in the chili.  They go well in the chili as they retain their crunch even after stirring them in.

The new Lego Simpson's blind packs are out at the Kanata Centrum Walmart.  I got 6 packs: Homer, Marge, Bart, Maggie, Apu, and Scratchy.  Going back on Monday to find Lisa, Krusty, and Mr.Burns.  Not sure if I want to go for the whole set for not.

Saturday May 3 2014 is Free Comic Book Day

Dinner today - Rib Fingers, Potatoes, and Garlic Rosemary Focaccia.
Picked up Jamie Oliver's Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Focaccia bread at Sobey's.  Today was the last day of the sale price of $3.99.  It tastes pretty good and I like the big chunks of garlic cloves.

I also roasted some rib fingers that I had been marinating for 3 days in Korea BBQ sauce.  I roasted them over some mini red potatoes.  The potatoes elevated the meat so that the meat didn't boil in the juices, but the potatoes themselves did.

I can't believe San Jose Sharks blew the 3-0 series lead over the LA Kings, and lost the series yesterday.  Heads will roll.
But tonight Montreal beat Boston 4 to 3 in double Overtime, in Game 1!  Whoo Hoo!!!
