TV Problems Day 2

The Rogers tech guy showed up today to fix my stuff.  He looked like he fixed the weak signal and my cable box, but wasn't able to complete the very last step of authorizing my cable box.  The line was too busy.  I called to activate it when I got back from work and it still doesn't work.  Now another tech guy will come back on Friday to fix it...  Another night without watching TV before going to bed.  It seems totally weird.

Re-heated the T&T beef tendons over rice.  I was busy calling Rogers to make anything else.

TV Problems

My Rogers box wasn't working when I got home from work today.  It's still doesn't work now.  I've made about 6 calls to Roger's automated service and 3 calls to customer service to get it fixed, but in the end they have to send a technician to my house fix it.

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strikefighters vs GDC tonight.  We lost 8-23 (I think).  We gave up 10 runs in the 3rd inning.  GDC seemed to have picked up a trio of ringers.  3 of their new players were homerun hitters.
I went 2 for 2 with 2 singles.  Both of them in the opposite field, where they weren't expecting it.  Dave and Paul got homers for us.
Mark relieved Gary for 1 inning of pitching and he got a sweet strike out on 3 straight pitches :)

The Boston Cream Cake is on sale at Sobey's.  The last time it was on sale, I wasn't able to get one to try it out, but today I was finally able to get one.  It's an alright cake.  I thought it would be better...

Reminder to all StrikeFighters, our 1st game will be Tuesday night.  It's against GDC.  It's the team with the pitcher who wears an Australian hat, and with the guy that umpires who smells like cigarette smoke.

Episode 1 and 2 for the AKB0048 anime has been translated.  I've only watched episode 1 and I had no idea that it was a mecha anime!
You can download episode 1 here and episode 2 here.  (I got the 8-bit.  I have trouble watching the 10-bit even with my brand spanking new computer.  Something to do with the settings I can't be bothered to fiddle with.)

Just watched Episode 2.  This anime is really cool.  The Mayu character is awesome!  "Watanabe Mayu MK3"  They better make a toy of her!

Just checked HLJ for AKB0048 stuff.  Didn't have anything, but I found these AKB48 Swing #01 and AKB48 Swing #02 boxes.  Don't know what these gashapon toys are, but I pre-ordered them :)

Weekend Report: Super Moon

Saturday night was the Super Moon.  It's when the moon has a very close orbit with the earth, so it is bigger and extra bright.  It also seems to give Jeff the ability to win board games.

Jane, Ben, and I went to the Beddington's sale before they closed on Friday night.  I got a few little things.  Afterwards we went to the Kanata Noodle house for a late dinner.
Ben got the Pork Vermicelli without spring rolls.  It's the same price as the one with 2 spring rolls, but we think there is more pork to compensate.  We don't know for sure?

I got the Pho Special #15 Large.  I almost finished all of the soup this time.  I was probably 6 big gulps away from finishing, but I was so full of water I couldn't.

We went to Le Buffet des Continents on Sunday for Ben's Pre-Birthday lunch.  I was really disappointed.  It was mostly breakfast food.  No sushi, crab legs, or any chinese stuff.  Dinner is so much better there.  The highlight of the meal was freshly made pork-rinds.  They were so good.

Anthony, Derek, Jeff, and I played the Soccer board game and RoboRally on Saturday night.  As I said above, Jeff with his moon powers, won both games.  We also retired the Soccer game.  It takes too long and is only OK.

The latest Magic set was released on Friday: Avacyn Restored.  I picked up 2 booster boxes and a Fat Pack.  I was hoping to get an Avacyn, Angel of Hope but I didn't get one :(  Ben got it.

Beddington's Bed & Bath Warehouse sale is going on now til Sunday.  I hear it's a really good sale with lots of stuff.  I think I'll try and check it out.

I was thinking of making sushi out of the salmon, but I didn't have any seaweed left in the house.  The french beans were really good.  I boiled them, drained them, and stirred in olive oil and oyster sauce.

This Saturday is "Free Comic Book Day".  No strings attached.  Just go to a comic store and get free comics.  Not just Ottawa, it's world wide.

The guest line-up has changed for the Ottawa ComicCon: Captain Picard is out, and Captain Kirk and Mr. Data are in!  It's too bad that Patrick Steward is no longer attending.  I kind of wanted to meet him and get his autograph.
