Vacation Monday IV

Another Monday, another vacation day :)

It was really humid today, so I did some shopping at Carlingwood Mall and Bayshore. I think both malls left the heat on? It was warmer inside than outside.

Other than shopping, I finished cleaning my fish tank. I added some fake jewels I won from the arcades in Japan, to the tank. I'm going to use these jewels instead of using aquarium pebbles this time.

I might get some Sponge Bob Square Pants builds to add to the tank too :)

I'm not sure what kind of aquatic life I'll put in my tank this time. I want some ghost shrimp, neon tetras, or normal goldfish... It's currently leaning towards the goldfish, as I want something simple to take care of. I'll decide when I go to Big Al's tomorrow.

Homemade Jucy Burger

Food this weekend ->
I got some buns from a bakery in Chinatown, Saint Honore Bakery Cake Shop. I got some Fried Curry Buns, Hotdog Buns, Fried Pork Mocchi Ball, BBQ Pork Bun, and some Sticky Rice

My parents went to MTL on a day trip to see my aunt and uncle. They brought me back some home made lobster!!! This is the good stuff :) Lobster in Lobster sauce!

An episode of "Man vs Food" on Thursday featured the Jucy Lucy Burger. I decided to copy it. It's basically 2 beef patties with slices of cheese sealed in the middle.
I went to Farmboy and got 4 fresh patties and cheddar cheese. Squished the cheese between the patties and fried up the burgers. Topped the burgers with Bread & Butter pickles, ketchup, and honey mustard.

Xploderz Ammo, the New Ammo of Choice.

I bought some Xploderz Ammo refills yesterday. I was intrigued by how this new type of toy gun ammo works.
In the ammo pack, there are these tiny little blue beads that are about the size of a pin head. You soak the beads in water overnight and they grow to about the size of a small marble. The ammo texture is similar to firm jello, and explodes when shot/thrown.
It's really cool, but now I just need to buy the blaster. I want the XBlaster 200, but it's sold out at Walmart Kanata.

No Lego Frankenstien

I got decided to get a few packs of the Lego Minifigures Series 4. I was hoping to get the Frankenstien by squeezing the pack until I felt a larger sized lego head. I thought I got it, but it ended up being the Hazmat guy. The helmet threw me off. The Hazmat guy is neat too.
I also got the Fishing Gnome and the Surfer Chick. These Lego figures are cooler than I thought :)

Susanna, Ben, and I went to T&T tonight and I got alot of discounted food. I got Green Beans in Black Bean Sauce, BBQ Chicken Legs, Beef Brisket with Daikon, and Deep Fried Squid Tentacles.

Last of the Korean Short Ribs

Dinner today -> Korean Short Ribs on Rice
Cooked the last of the Korean Short Ribs today, but even after eating them for 4 days, I still want more of them. The ribs are THAT good :)

This is the marinade I use for the short ribs. I've tried 2 other kinds, but only this brand and type is the best.

I get the large bottle from T&T. I used to get the smaller bottles, but I can't find them anymore. Be sure to get the "Short Rib" version and not the "Steak" or "Chicken" versions. They don't taste as good on the ribs.

Vacation Monday III

Didn't do much today on my day off. Was planning on going to Bayshore in the morning but didn't. I ended up cleaning my fish tank for 4hrs instead, and it's still not completely as clean as I want it. The problem was with my water changing hose device. It doesn't fit correctly with the design of my kitchen tap, and the tap is really weak. It took forever to change the water.

Useless Hockey Pool News:
I got eliminated in 2 out of 3 of my hockey pools on Sunday, but I won the 3rd one. I won the CMC/Sikorsky Pool!
I won mainly on the backs Fleury, Selanne, and Visnovsky. It helped that I had drafted D.Sedin, St.Louis, Kolvachuck, and Briere too :)
