Curry Ramen

Lunch today -> Frank's Fries.
Impromptu trip to Canadian Tire today at lunchtime.  So I hit Frank's Fry Truck afterwards and got a large fry with salt vinegar.  Haven't had it inwhile and it's still good.  $6 for a large now.  I think it went up in price abit.

Dinner today -> Curry Ramen.
Made a couple packs of instant ramen and added it to the remaining leftover curry.  Mixed it together and topped it with a raw egg.  It was good and filling, but I'm kind of getting sick of curry now.

Weekend Report: 3-Day Curry

Food this weekend ->
Made a big batch of curry to eat all weekend.  I started on Wednesday by boiling and cooling the leftover roast rib bones to get all the meat, marrow, and bone flavour out of it.  The meat broke down and became very tender and the broth thickened up due to the bone jelly.
I added potatoes, carrots and huge 50% off portabella mushrooms.

Then I added a couple eggs and the Japanese curry rue.  It became nice and thick with lots of meat bits.

Scooped it over some vinegared white rice.  I was so good.  Took 3 days to make this but it was totally worth it.

Useless TV News:
Binged watched all of Luke Cage this weekend.  It's really good (except for the 2nd last episode - It was really slow).  I recommend watching it.  

Useless Gaming News:
4-Player Pandemic Legacy on Friday night.  We played months June and July.  We beat June on the 2nd try, but we lost both games of July.  Alot of cities in Asia fell to the Faded (aka zombies).  Next time we head in August on a loss and and it will only get tougher.

Horrible Shipping Packaging from Sears

Snack today -> Bag of Bones Cheetos.
Got these Limited Halloween Cheetos called Bag of Bones.  They are good.  A white cheddar cheeto and they molded to form a skeleton.  I'll probably get more.

Nuked another bowl of leftover roast beef, veggies, and instant rice.  I still have enough left for another big bowl of this.

Useless Drink News:
I tried out the Mountain Dew Baja Blast.  It's nothing spectacular.  I think it is alot like 7-up, but less citrus flavour and less sweet.

Useless Toy New:
Got my package of Lego stuff from Sears in today.  I got Poe's X-Wing and a couple of flashlight keychains of Vader and Emmet.

The packing of these items is horrible!  The Lego box was wrapped in a plain plastic bag with no bubble wrap.  Because of this, the box was unprotected and got squished.  The keychains were slightly better, as each was in a bubble wrapped envelope and shipped together in another plastic envelope.  I paid for shipping so I expected a packaging box with all the items in it from a large company like Sears.  I probably won't order from Sears again and I don't recommend others either.  I'll just price match stuff at Walmart or Toys R Us.

New Drink Flavours

Lunch today -> Little Ceasars.
Got the $11 Box from Little Ceasars.  It includes 1 deep dish pepperoni pizza and 1 deep dish garlic bread with marinara sauce.  Not bad for $11.  Very greasy.  I think I will stick to the regular pizzas.

Useless Food News:
Got some U.S. drinks from Suzanne yesterday.  Melo Yello (I think I've tried before, but I don't remember how it tastes.), Dewshine (new to me), and Mountain Dew Baja Blast (also new).  I'll try these by the end of the weekend.

More Useless Food News:
Went to Loblaws after finishing "after work boardgames" today.  I was there around 8pm, right when the butcher kid went to put 50% off stickers on the near expiring foods.  I was lucky and got myself another beef roast.  I might slice this into steaks and freeze it... or I might make another roast tomorrow?

Snack today -> Ed's Apple Pie.
I got a slice of Ed's apple pie to sample.  It was pretty good.  It tasted alot like Steve's.  Ed told me afterwards, that it was because it was Steve's recipe!

Dinner today -> Roast Beef Leftovers
Re-heated some roast vegetables and leftover roast beef in the microwave.  I added a pack of instant rice too.

Useless Food News:
These are the drinks we got from Watertown: 3 different Mountain Dew's.

Mountain Dew Pitch Black, Mango Heat, and Code Red.

Pitch Black tastes like black grape.  Not bad.
Mango Heat has a strong mango taste.  I don't like mango.  If I did, I would like it.
Code Red, usual cherry flavour.  Not sure why they stopped making the cans in Canada.  And I can only find the bottles at Dollar Stores.  They should have kept Code Red over Blue Voltage.

Long Weekend Report -> Canadian Thanksgiving

Food this weekend ->
Gavin and his family were in town this weekend.  We went out for lunch at Sansotei Ramen.  It's similar to what I ate in Japan.  Very good ramen.

I got the Miso Black:  The waitress said I could even eat the flower.  I ate 1 petal.  Didn't taste of anything and had the texture of boiled lettuce.

We went hiking in the Gatineau Park on Sunday and then ate Pho.  That's when my phone battery died, so no pics of the food, but it wasn't anything special.  Afterwards we ate Strawberry Whip Cake (from Swiss Pastries) for Emi's Birthday.  She's pregant with a girl too.  Congratulations!

I also made a nice roast beef this weekend with my 50% off meat.  It was cooked to medium rare, according to my thermometer, but I think it was abit over cooked to a medium.  I'm going to use the leftover bones to make a soup.

We played 3-player Artic Scavengers.  It's a different type of decking building game than Dominion.  It's pretty good.  I would play it more.  We played Magic after that.

On Thanksgiving Monday: Susanna, Ben, and I went to Watertown for a US shopping trip.  We went to Salmon Run Mall, Walgreens, Home Depot, Walmart, and Target.  For lunch we went to Sonic's.  I got a cheesy bacon dog in a pretzel bun and foot long dog.  Got a tasty Strawberry Limeade for a drink.
