I thought my coffee maker was broken on Saturday. I filled it with water, turned it on, and nothing happened. I tried poking around the water drain with a chopstick and shaking it. Didn't work. I was thinking, "Damn, now I have to get a new coffee maker too. What's next to go wrong? (because I beleive everything happens in three's)". Saturday went by without my caffeine fix from my daily cup of milk tea. Sunday morning rolled around, and I woke up to a huge caffeine headache. I drank a can of Coke but it didn't work.
Steve told me today that I should try adding 2 parts vinegar with 1 part water, into my coffee maker. It might be clogged with debris buildup from the water. The vinegar will break it down. I tried it Monday night, and it worked!!! My coffee maker is fixed, but smells like vinegar. Thanks Steve. (Steve also showed off his new iPhone. I'm so envious. I want one too!)
At CMC I'm doing QA (Quality Assurance) work now. I did a SIL audit today and sat through some manual testing. Also auditing a bunch documents for CMC MTL.

Weekend Report -> Dragon Age
Was planning on getting an iPhone on Friday, but I decided to get a new 19" HDTV instead. My projector was losing video whenever I used my XBox360, and I really wanted to play Dragon Age.

^ New TV
Other than Dragon Age, I didn't do much else this weekend. The only notable meal I made was on Saturday for lunch: Garlic Oysters and Potatoes.

Dinner today -> Fish and Pork Intestines
Steamed some Big Head Fish in soy sauce, olive oil, and green onions tonight for dinner. Also had some marinated pork intestines too.

^ Steamed Fish.

^ Marinated Pork Intestines
The marinated pork intestines were from T&T. You'll notice on the label that it says "Marinated Pork Bung". I guess "intestine" was too long, so they used "bung". What a great choice of words... it sounds so appetizing. :P
Weather Report:
Snowed alot today. It came down heavy at times. Doesn't look like any of the snow will stay on the ground though. Even with all this cold weather, my strawberry plant still bares some fruit, mostly unripe strawberries. It's suppose to get warm on the weekend. Maybe the berries will ripen? (forgot to take a pic)

Package Today and T&T Trip
Package:
Got the 2nd half of my package from YesAsia today.
I got Morning Musume's "Kimagure Princess" Limited Edition A, B, and C Singles, AKB48's "RIVER" Single, and a free Bleach phone strap.

^ Limited A (top-Left), B (Top-Right), C (Bottom-Left), RIVER (Bottom-Right)
Opened K.Princess Limited C. Nice group photo of Morning Musume on the inside of the CD jacket. The 10 CD covers is actually 5 double-sided covers. Included was also a "Handshake Event" ticket (which I can't use).

^ Morning Musume's "Kimagure Princess" Limited Edition C Single Insides.
Opened the RIVER CD looking for the 1st press limited AKB48 group photo. DAMN IT! I didn't get one!!! I knew I should have ordered it from CD Japan. They guarantee it but has expensive shipping, while YesAsia doesn't guarantee it and is free shipping.

^ AKB48's "RIVER" Single Insides.
The CD jacket is pretty cool. One side has the lyrics, while the other side has a cool panoramic shot of the front girls (above).
In addition to the CD/DVD, I got a gold-foil "National Handshaking Event" ticket (looks dark brown in the pic). Too bad I can't use it.
Also got a voting ticket for the 2010 Shibuya AX Request Top 100 concert. I can use it to vote for 1 song in AKB48's yearly top 100 fan voted concert. I believe last year, the voting ticket was able to vote for 3-5 songs, but this year it's only good for 1 song. This is an ingenious money making idea by Akimoto Yasushi (AKB48's owner/producer). The more hardcore wota's will buy multiple copies of this CD (5, 10, 20, even 100 copies), just to vote their favorite song or favorite AKB girl's unit song, into the #1 slot.
If I can figure it out, I'm going to vote for "Bird". It was voted #9 in 2008, and #4 in 2009. I'll post the video to Bird in a future post.
T&T:
Ben, Susanna and I went to T&T tonight. We got there at 7:30pm and the place was not even 1/2 full. No line to get in, only a small line to order the cooked food, and short lines at the cash.

^ Dinner from T&T: Assorted Bean Curds and Veg. Spring Rolls
We bought lots of food: different kinds of bean curds, fresh fish, spring rolls, egg tarts, Ramune, seaweed, and marinated pork intestines. Wednesday nights is a good night to go to T&T. Not very busy at all.

Rant, Dragon Age, Projector Problems, Japanese Last Names
My brother, Ben, really pisses me off sometimes. His XBox 360 got "Red Ringed", so I let him borrow my 360 for a weekend (as he said). 1 week later, he says I can have it back. I didn't mind that he had it for a week, as I wasn't playing anything on 360, but I expected him to return it himself and hookup everything to the way it was before he borrowed it. Its the proper thing to do.
But no.
He makes me go over to his house to pickup my 360 myself; just because he had to rush home from work to eat food, before going out to go eat wings downtown. What is the point of eating before going out to eat? And he couldn't make the time to return my xbox when he knew I wanted it back today! He really disappoints me sometimes. He so owes me.
(Man, I love this blog. I can rant and no one can stop me ^_^)
I bought "Dragon Age: Origins" for XBox 360 today.

^ Epic RPG
So I created my character (a noble dwarven warrior), downloaded the exclusive armour, and started playing abit. The whole time I was doing this, I would get an annoying dark bar scrolling up the screen, and I would lose video every few minutes. Either my projector bulb is starting to go or the video signal needs to be boosted. I hope it isn't the bulb because it's atleast a $200 replacement. I'll have to hit The Source for a signal booster tomorrow.
Useless Info from Japan:
(exert from Japan Times article)
Top 10 most common Japanese last names:
1. Sato
2. Suzuki
3. Takahashi
4. Tanaka
5. Watanabe
6. Ito
7. Yamamoto
8. Nakamura
9. Kobayashi
10. Kato
Japan has about 100,000 last names, about a million in the US, several thousand in China, and only about 200 in Korea.
I like Watanabe (Wa-ta-na-be). It sounds cool. It's fun to say it like this: Waat-tawn-nabee (stretching it out like in Seinfeld "Heeeeelloooooo")

Halloween Costumes -> Mario and Princess
Here is the pic of my Halloween costume: Super Mario! The beautiful Princess is Kelly from CMC.

^ Princess and Mario
Dinner tonight was "Salt & Pepper Oysters". Used the same T&T recipe for "Salt & Pepper Squid", but used oysters instead.

^ Salt & Pepper Oysters. Yummy.
Got a package in the mail today. It contained Morning Musume's "Kimagure Princess" Normal Edition D Single, and Morning Musume's Limited Edition Coupling Collection. The coupling collection has 3 CDs containing all the B-Side songs, and a mini-photo album. I also got a free Bleach phone strap. (FYI: Kimagure Princess climbed to #3 on the daily charts today.)

^ Today's swag.

Weekend Report
Friday:
Halloween Party at CMC on Friday at lunch time. Employee's moral were low, so not alot of people were in the mood for Halloween. Still, there was a decent gathering of people, costumed and non-costumed. We played Urban Myths and ate lots of free chocolate.
Tifenn won 1st place in Costume Contest. She was dress up as HFE Chris. She looked just like him. I even voted for her, instead of myself :)
I actually won 2nd place dressed as Super Mario. Pic to follow when I get it next week.
Went to the new T&T Supermarket Friday night with Susanna and my parents. The place was packed, and the lines were extremely long for ordering cooked food and for the butcher. We found Gordon shopping there too.
I bought mostly snack and frozen foods. I found some "Bugles" corn snacks! I thought they had stopped producing them. It was ranked the #1 worst junk food you can eat, a couple years ago. For that reason alone, I had to buy some :)

^ Bugles (original and nacho cheese flavour)
I combined and split the grocery bill with my parents so I could get both free gifts: set of tea cups and set of bowls. They look alright and were made in Japan.
Bumped into Thu on the way out. She and her family were waiting in line to get into the store. She was planning on buying some black chicken (aka Silkie).
Saturday:
Went to Comic Book Shoppe in the morning and picked up some manga and Magic cards. Got the limited "Garruk vs Liliana" Duel Deck, and picked up an extra deck for Ben. The deck is worth it just for Garruk.

^ Duel Deck: Garruk vs Liliana
Made Spaghetti with Meat Sauce for lunch/dinner. Added large mushroom chunks into the sauce.

^ Lots of ground beef and mushrooms in the sauce. Key is to add sour cream into the sauce.
Halloween night wasn't very busy. I turned on the porch light at 5:30pm and turned it off at 8:45pm. Had a grand total of 5 Trick-or-Treaters (4 Witches and 1 Harry Potter or Steve Urkle? I'm not sure).

^ The little Trick-or-Treater looked like Steve Urkle.
Sunday:
Picked up TF:Animated Shockwave from Walmart. He's pretty cool. Transforms from Autobot Longarm to Decepticon Shockwave. I saw Animated Skywarp there too, but I didn't want to pick him up. I'll wait for him to go on sale. I'm only looking for Animated Wreckgar now.

^ Autobot Longarm

^ Decepticon Shockwave
Emi sent me this link to the whole show of Music Station on 2009-10-30. AKB48 is up 1st to perform.
Morning Musume's "Kimagure Princess" debuted at #5 on the Single Rankings (to my surprise at getting that high). AKB48's RIVER dropped to #3 during it's 2nd week.
