Playoff Game 1 Win

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strike Fighters win our 1st playoff game tonight vs GDC. We defeated them 10-11 in a very close game. (Haha Ben :P)
My hitting is back. I went 0 for 3 vs GDC last time, but tonight I went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a single.

Dinner today -> Omelette Rice.
Fried rice with abit of steak, veggies, and egg.

I wanted to make spaghetti with meat sauce tonight, but Sobey's didn't have any small packs of ground beef (only family packs), so I bought steak that was on sale instead.

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strike Fighters finished the season tied for 2nd in our division this year. Our best finish during my tenure with the team. We were only 2 points out of 1st place too! If we hadn't had lost a couple of those close games, we could have been in 1st.
Our first playoff game is Thursday night vs GDC. We should be able to take them.

AKB Kards

Dinner today -> Salmon and Lobster.
Pan fried the last of the salmon and re-heated a huge lobster I got from Loblaws. The lobster was only $7.50! I destroyed every bit of meat out of it. Lots of the yummy green stuff inside too :)

Brand new AKB48 cards are available for pre-order.

I was only going to order 1 box, but right before I completed placing the order, I changed it to 2 boxes :) Dammit! Cards are my achillies heel!
I just read how many cards are in the set (180 base, 90 rare, 120 mythic rare). If I'm lucky I'll get a base set in the 2 boxes, but do I really want to risk it? Maybe I'll order a 3rd box...

Labour Day Weekend Report

Ben had a Labour Day Potluck Party on the weekend. After reading the emails about what everyone else was bringing, I was kind of forced into bringing a main course because almost everybody was bringing fruits and vegetables.
I wanted to bring korean ribs fingers, but the meat is abit chewy for kids and Ben doesn't like beef anymore (?!?!? Yes I know he's nuts).
I decided on making sushi, as I was already planning on making it for myself this weekend anyways.

Linda also noticed the fruits and vegetables thing about the menu and made a 2nd dish: dumplings.
BTW: The peaches Anthony brought were really sweet and ripe. I went out and bought a bunch for myself after eating just one :)

Chu Shing Birthday Dinner

Dinner today -> Chu Shing Birthday Dinner.
We went to Chu Shing for my dad's birthday dinner. Service was kind of slow, but we still stuffed ourselves silly with all the good food:

This fish had a ton of fish roe in it :)

Tradition for the birthday person to eat noodles on their birthday. I think it symbolizes long life. I read somewhere that your not suppose to bite the noodles too. Got to get the whole noodle in your mouth before chewing.

Icing Challenge

Lunch today -> Lucky Dragon Delight Chinese Restaurant
Reza, Carmelo, and I went to the grand opening of Lucky Dragon Delight Chinese Restaurant. It was OK. It was typical Canadian Chinese food.
We ordered 3 dishes:
- Beef with Chinese Greens. The Chinese greens we got were not the kind I expected to get. No garlic in the dish too.
- Curried Chicken. This dish lack more curry flavor. Alot of carrot and celery filler too.
- Chinese Style Canton Chow Mein Speciality Dish. The chow mein was not crispy and lack some seasoning.
We also paid $2 each for a bowl of rice!

Overall, I rate the food as below average for the price. The major faux-pas was the use of all the celery as filler!
I might try them again in a month or so, and see if they improve. Right now it doesn't look good for them to expect me as a repeat customer. I would rather drive the extra 5 minutes to go to Rideau Restaurant, for some real Chinese food.

Useless Cake News:
Ed brought me some left over chocolate cake from one of his project celebrations.

Later, there was a special celebration for the whole company with more cake! After most of the people left, we challenged Ethan to eat all the remaining icing from the cake tray for $20 :)

There was about a pound of icing on his plate, and he ate the whole thing. I thought for sure he was going to spew after eating all that sugar :)

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strike Fighters beat GDC in our final regular season game. We won 13-11. Our defence was really strong until the last couple of inning where we gave up most of the runs. We almost lost it in the last inning.
I went 0 for 3 with 1 RBI. My worst game of the year.
MVP: Stefano. He shows up right before his 1st atbat and hits a 3 run homer.
