Eclipse

The big eclipse was today.  A bunch of us went outside at 2:30pm to see it.  We had 1 pair of official glasses and a couple welding masks.  We also had some impromptu pinhole cameras.  I took a photo with my phone through the glasses.  Can't really see it in the photo.
Eclipse.

Dinner today -> Ribs.
Went to Big Bone BBQ and got the Monday Mania: 1 rack + 1lb of firery honey garlic wings + large fries for $25 + tax.  It was good, but the sauce tasted sweeter than I remembered.
Mmmm... Ribs.

Useless Lego News:
I went to Walmart tonight and I found some "brick tape".  The 6.5ft roll was $13 and the 3.2ft roll was $8.  I got the bigger roll.  It comes in alot of different colours, but I chose black.  The brick tape can be cut to size and stuck anywhere.  Not sure where I will use it yet.
Brick Tape.

Useless Gaming News:
Tried out my Roll Player game using the solo variant.  It's pretty good.  Lots of decisions of where to place dice and how best to utilize them.  Need to try it multiplayer.
Solo Roll Player.

Useless Idol News:
My current favorite 48-group member: Kitahara Rie, announced her graduation from NGT48 today!  I'm shocked!  Didn't expect her to graduate yet.  Her grad will be in the spring of 2018.

Weekend Report -> Trypticon Stickers

Food this weekend ->
Picked up asian goodies for lunch on Friday from the Asian Market on Hazeldean.  Got homemade rice noodle wraps, homemade sesame balls, and Vietnamese subs.
Asian Lunch.
I haven't had the sesame balls in a long time.  They were fresh and crunchy.  So good!

Made steak for dinner on Sunday.  Got a 5 pack of top sirloin steaks for $10!  Added some broccoli to the pan to soak up all the drippings.
Steak and Broccoli.

Susanna and I went to Carleton Place on Sunday.  We went to the "purple cow" ice cream parlour (aka The Cheddar Stop).
Purple Cow.
Susanna got the small cup: 1 scoop of pistachio and almonds and 1 scoop of orange pineapple.  I got a small cone: apple pie (seasonal flavour) topped with a scoop of Big Foot (vanilla with caramel ribbons and mini-peanutbutter cups).
Ice Cream.
The orange pineapple tastes like orange creamsicle but sweeter.
The apple pie was really good.  A good apple cinnamon taste.
The Big Foot was good too.

Useless Lego News:
Picked up the last Lego Batcave from Carleton Place Walmart.  It was on clearance for $84.  Not sure when I will build this.  Also not sure where to put it after....?
Lego Batcave.

Useless Transformers News:
Opened up Trypticon.  He is awesome and huge!  Transforms very similarly to the original G1 Trypticon.  He comes with a sticker sheet and I decided to put all the stickers on.  It took me over 2.5 hours to put all the stickers on!  There were 158 tiny little stickers that required toothpicks to place in some hard to get to areas.  Good luck Gordon if you put the stickers on too.

AABDJ: 2-1

Snack today -> Sizzlin' Szechuan Chips.
Tried the new Sizzlin' Szechuan Lays chips today.  It's ok.  It tastes like chicken ramen.  It's not spicy either, even tho it has alot of chili peppers on it.  I may get it again.  I wasn't too impressed with it.

Lunch today -> Hotdogs.
Ate a couple leftover BBQ hotdogs for lunch.  I topped them with mayo and mustard.

Snacks today part 2 -> Watermelon.
Cut up the leftover watermelon for an afternoon snack today.  It was really sweet and very juicy.  I ate atleast 8 slices.  We got the watermelons from Kanata Costco.

Useless Transformers News:
Picked up Trypticon and the Siege on Cybertron set at Toys R Us Kanata today.
I get an extra Siege on Cybertron using the "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" coupon.  (BTW: I grabbed the last of these boxes from the shelves.)

Useless Escape Room News:
AABDJ re-united and attempted 2 more rooms at the Mystery Manor tonight.
The 1st room we did was The Boudoir.  Good room and somewhat difficult.  We had to use our 1 clue.  We did escape and had 5:45 left.
The 2nd room was The Parlour.  I would say this was a challenging room.  It had 1 puzzle that was extremely time consuming.  On top of that we made it even more difficult for ourselves because:
1) one of us *Cough*Anthony*Cough* wore the clues and didn't check all the pockets.
2) one person who had no sense of smell, was working on the smell puzzle.
We finished the room using 3 clues and 5 extra minutes.  We had to buy the extra clues because we needed to be successful to obtain the diamond scavenger hunt clues.

BBQ Hotdogs

Lunch today -> BBQ Hotdogs.
I helped organize a hotdog BBQ at work for lunch today.  We bought the big Costco sized hotdogs, potato salad, watermelon, and drinks for everyone.  Excellent turnout and everyone left full.

Cherry Tomato Plant Take-Over

Useless Garden News:
I added some Miracle Grow to my tomato plant a couple weeks ago.  Today you can really tell the Miracle Grow has kicked in.  The cherry tomato plant has pretty much taken over the garden.  It's choking out all the other plants and has grabbed on to the hanging strawberry plant!
Cherry Tomato Plant Take-Over.
I expect to be picking some more cherry tomatoes soon.  There are alot of little green tomatoes now.

Useless Softball News:
Strike Fighters played a higher level B division team tonight.  We kept it close but they were a home run team and we couldn't keep up.  We lost 19-22.
I hit 2-for-3 with 1 walk and 2 singles.

What If Jugsaw Puzzle #10

Lunch today -> Vietnamese Sub.
Ate a Vietnamese sub from the Kanata Asian grocery store.  It was very good.  Way better than the T&T ones (I still don't understand why T&T cuts the bread from the top instead of from the side, so looks stupidly wide and difficult to eat).
Lunch.
I also had a few mini-chocolate bars for dessert.  These were from my Halloween supply from last year.  I figure I should eat it now since I see Halloween candy out at Walmart already.

Dinner today -> Vegetarian Stuff and Chicken Soup.
At a platter of vegetarian stuff (don't remember what this is called in english) for dinner.  This stuff used to have a curry flavour in the pack too, but it's been missing for a long time now.
Vegetarian Stuff.
I also had some left over chicken soup.  Seems to taste better the next day :)
Leftover Chicken Soup.

Useless Gaming News:
Work people finished another puzzle today.  They finished the "What If" puzzle I donated in less than a week.

Weekend Report -> Deliverance Pizza Delivered

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL!!!

Food this weekend ->
Made eggs and toast for dinner on Friday.  Nothing fancy.
Eggs and Toast.

Saturday dinner was abit more fancy.  I made Laksa Ramen and added some beans, leftover sliced steak, an egg, and a couple green mussels.
Ramen.

Bought more chicken bones from Farmboy to make chicken soup on Sunday.  This time I also added Daikon to add a more refreshing taste.  I made the soup with 16 chicken halves, 2 onions, salt, dashi, and daikon.
Chicken Soup.

Useless Gaming News:
An impromptu game night Saturday night at Anthony's.  We started with an old 1990 Ontario board game (forgot what it was called).  The objective is to travel from Windsor to Winisk.  It's a luck and educational game.
Then we played a couple rounds of Hey! That's My Fish!
Hey! That's My Fish!
Followed by Spy Alley and Kiwetin.
Spy Alley.

Ben, Brian, Gordon and I hit Room Escapes on Sunday afternoon to try the new Deliverance escape room.  This room is really good.  Very good puzzles.  We successfully finished the room and delivered the pizza with 10:43 left.  I highly recommend this room, but not for your first try.  The told us the success rate was fairly low.
