Weekend Report: Born of the Gods

Food this weekend ->
Made Fish and Chips in the oven for lunch on Saturday.
Fish & Chips.

More traditional breakfast on Sunday: Toast and Eggs, if you can call it breakfast at 2 in the afternoon.
Eggs with Toast.

I was going out at lunch on Friday to pick up some Magic Cards, and I swung by Frank's Catering for a sandwich, eventhough it's in the opposite direction.  Only a 10 minute detour.  Got the #1 again, and it was put together really well, almost perfect (last time it was really messing), but with perfection it looked like it had less meat?  Maybe it's an illusion?

Useless M:tG News:
Picked up 2 Booster boxes and 1 Fat Pack of the new Magic set: Born of the Gods.  Was thinking of picking up the Blue intro deck, but I only wanted 1 card out of it.  The other intro decks aren't that good either.

Useless Gaming News:
Long day of gaming at Brian's house.  3 of us gamed in the afternoon until Gordon and Paul showed up after dinner.  It was probably too much for me as the smoke and dog allergies started getting to me later in the evening.
We stared with Dungeon Lords and we played it correctly this time.  This is a good game, but it plays long for some reason.  I won using a different tactic than last time :)
Dungeon Lords.
Next we played Merchants & Marauders.  Very long game, and I sort of got lost in what I could do.  I still don't know the rules after playing it twice.  Ben won fairly easily.
Merchants & Marauders.
After was Acquire.with 5 players.  This stock market game is really fun.  I think every game needs a random factor to make it more fun, and this game has it in spades.  We only played 1 game, but we should have played a second as we missed 1 rule and somehow messed up a board piece.  Brian gave up too early too, when the stock he was collecting was threatened to be taken over from another stock.  I find that Brian has a bad habit of giving up too easily when things don't go his way.  It gets annoying sometimes, and makes me feel like just wiping him out in the game, but that would just prove him right.
Piece 8-E is in the wrong spot early in Acquire.
Finally we finished with Last Night on Earth.  We played a new expansion with a new forest map.  Gordon was the zombie player and we got slaughtered by his amazing dice rolling.  I think we only played 5 rounds before it was over.

Maeshika Mukanee on SMAPxSMAP

Dinner today -> Shanghai Bok Choi with Chinese Mushrooms.
Copied the dish that we had at Rideau Restaurant a couple weeks ago.  Mine was similar, but I made to sauce too watery.  If it was thicker, it would have been the same.

AKB48 performance of their 35th single and Yuko's graduation song "Maeshika Mukanee" on SMAPxSMAP last week.

10 Minute Dinner

Dinner today -> Wings, Greens, and Fries.
Quickly made dinner today.  Started with the fries.  It was the McCain 5 minute shoe string fries.
While the oven was pre-heating and fries cooking, I chopped and boiled the Gai Lan.  Cooked the greens for a couple of minutes, drained them and mixed in abit of oyster sauce and sesame oil.
Then I nuked the wings for 2 minutes.  It all roughly finished around the same time and in about 10 minutes.

Strawberry Lemonade Energy Drink

I was really tired last night, but I kept tossing and turning til 4:30am.  I was even considering going into work in the middle of the night.  With the little sleep I got, I needed to sip on this Starbucks energy drink all morning to keep me going.  It taste pretty good, but I don't know if it really helped?
Strawberry Lemonade Energy Drink.

Lunch today -> McDoubles and Mini-Donuts.
Mmmm... donuts.  A meal under $5.
Cheap Lunch.

The Bear

Apparently Heather Ray from "106.9 The Bear" grabbed one of my Willy's Pizza photos to use on their Facebook site.  Cool!  Jeno told me about it because he recognized Metroplex in the picture.
The Bear's Facebook Question.
I would have commented, but I don't have a Facebook account.

Lunch today ->
Came home for lunch today.  Didn't know what to eat, so I just fried up some eggs and bread.  Ate it while watching parts of a new Running Man episode I got from Ben on the weekend.
Eggs and Toast.

Useless Idol News:

Weekend Report: Chinese New Year 2014

Food this weekend ->
Went to my parent's house for New Year's Eve prayers.  (Top-left corner is my handmade cakes.)
New Year's Eve Prayers.
After prayers we had a our usual New Year's Eve dinner.
New Year's Eve Dinner.

We also did Chinese New Year's prayers on Saturday to bring in the new year.
New Year's Prayers.
After these prayers, we ate lunch with the dishes.  The mix plate from T&T (BBQ Pork, Squid, Chicken, Duck, and Jellyfish) was much better than the one they made for New Year's Eve.
New Year's Lunch.
After lunch we ate the sweets I brought for New Year's.  They were mini Cupcake Chocolates and they were awesome!  I got these at Costco at Christmas time.  I wanted to get more, but they were sold out in 2 weeks.
Cupcake Chocolates.

I also picked up these dishes on the weekend.  The wings are 30 for $10 at SuperStore (on sale til Thursday).  I really like the smoky BBQ flavour.  I'll be getting some wings before the sale ends.  I got the braised fish and lobster from "Green Fresh".  I ordered the lobster in my Montreal style Cantonese and the server lady noticed and asked if I was from MTL.  I guess she liked that because she kept scooping lobster pieces into my dish so it was overflowing and had to use saran wrap to seal the lid down :)  I got alot of tail pieces too.
Wings, Fish, and Lobster.
