Weekend Report: Finished Arkham City

Useless Gaming News:
All I finally finished "Batman: Arkham City" on XBox this weekend. I finished all the main and side missions, got all the Riddler trophies and puzzles, and finished all the Catwoman parts. The game is awesome, but I found the ending really easy.

After I finished Batman, I went to Best Buy and got Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I'm only a few hours in, but this RPG is great. The world is huge!

Food this weekend ->
I made a big pot of congee to eat all weekend. I made it with bone marrow, BBQ pork, and preserved duck egg. It was super tasty. I got some fried chicken from Super Store to go with it too.

Picked up the Graveborn premium deck. I was going to get for a good price from Miraj Trading, but I got it for a great price because James and I split a case.
I think this is a pretty powerful re-animate deck. Similar style to Gordon's deck, but pure black.

I got a few packs of Marvel Megablocks series 2. I was hoping to get a Wolverine, but I discovered it was an ultra-rare :( I got 3 Ironmans, 1 Assult Drone, and the Chase Red Skull.

Crystal Head Vodka is finally available at the LCBO, after I got mine 2yrs+ ago. LCBO banned it for some reason, but now its here. I picked up another bottle today.
This is the website for the vodka, but I don't think it has the Dan Aykroyd promotional video on there anymore. Search for it on YouTube.

The live action Ranma 1/2 tv drama will start on December 9. I hope it'll be good and somebody will make english subs for it.

Useless Toy News:
Toys R Us has a Moonlight Madness sale this Friday Nov 18. I think all TRUs will be open til midnight. I may pickup a double-barrel nerf gun or some new Transformers: Prime if they have it.
FYI#1: Wooden Thomas trains are 60% off starting at 7pm.
FYI#2: Walmart will match every price in the flyer.

Dinner today -> Curry
Made some curry with the last of my marinated rib fingers, red potatoes, baby carrots, red onion, and king oyster mushrooms. For the curry sauce, I used a mild curry roux from Osaka.

The leftovers will to taste even better tomorrow, when the curry flavour really soaks in.

Rogers Channel 829, Japan TV (aka NHK) is free until Nov 21.
If you select "Spanish" as the audio language, some shows and news programs (usually morning news) are dubbed in English.
I recommend watching:
- "Kitchen Car comes to Town" on Thursday night (but I don't think it's on this week due to a sumo tournament? But the food made on this show is awesome!)
- "Music Japan" on Friday at 4:30pm and hosted by Perfume,
- "Tokyo Eye" on Saturday at 1:50pm,
- "Music Station" on Saturday night at 1:10am (repeated Sunday at 7:10pm),
- "Begin Japanology" on Sunday at 1:50pm and hosted by Peter Barakan.
- "Cool Japan" on Sunday night (again not on this week due to sumo.)
FYI: On this week's airing of Music Station (repeat of Oct 28), AKB48 will be a guest performing Iiwake Maybe (short version) and Kaze wa Fuiteiru. I think Perfume was also a guest on this episode too.

Happy Pre-Birthday Dinner

Dinner today -> Dinner for 10 at Rideau Restaurant.
6 Adults and 4 kids celebrated a pre-birthday dinner for Jeff tonight at Rideau Restaurant. We got fish maw soup with chicken (not shown), tofu with treasures, lemon chicken, steamed fish, salt & pepper squid, beef and chinese greens, singapore-style noodles, and dry fried flat noodles with beef.

Dessert was a strawberry whipped cake from Swiss Pastries in Carlingwood Mall. I forgot to take the pic before Jeff served the cake. I got cool coloured flame candles for it too.

Steve sent me confirmation of the new Toys R Us, but it's in Stittsville instead of Kanata. It's really close to Ben's place.

Dinner today -> Rib Fingers with King Oyster Mushrooms.
Chopped the rib fingers into chunks and cooked it with sliced king oyster mushrooms, a splash of Korean BBQ sauce, and garlic butter.

I informed today that a new "Toys R Us" will be built in Kanata! Woo Hoo! :) Hopefully it's true, but I haven't found a second source yet.

Weekend Report: Christmas Tree Broccoli

Spent a late Friday night and all day Saturday at my second home, CMC. The amount of last minute work Reza and I had to do this weekend seemed unbelievable, but I think we got it all done. A few more things to do on Monday, but the pressure should be off. I feel like I need a vacation.

Food this weekend ->
I marinated some rib fingers in Korean BBQ Sauce for 3 days. On Saturday night I boiled some and made stew out of it. It was so good :) The rib meat was really tender and soft, not chew like when I BBQ or roast them.

Susanna and I went to the Farmer's Market at Lansdown Park on Sunday. I got some fresh Dynamite Rosemary and Garlic Artisan Bread. This one vendor had a long lineup for his bread. I figured it must be good, so I got it.
It goes well with stew too.

We also saw this new Broccoli type: Romanesco Broccoli. What's so neat about it? Well it looks like a mini-Christmas Tree!
