Weekend Report: Cold and Wet

It was a cold and wet weekend. Good thing I stayed inside all weekend, except I was inside at work most of the time :( I had to catch up on stuff.
CMC Strike Fighters were suppose to play a softball game vs a radio station, but it got cancelled due to weather :( Too bad. I was in the mood to play one last game of the year.

Food this weekend ->
Made some steak sandwiches for breakfast :) Thinly sliced steak on sourdough bread, butter, and honey mustard.

^ Steak Sandwiches.

Went to T&T and got some spring rolls and fish fillets with bean curds.

Got some Dagwoods sandwiches. Got a large The Dagwood and a small The Beef (roast beef). I was really disappointed with the roast beef sandwich. It was not that good at all. At least it was free (used the coupon from the Dagwood site.)

Useless Comic and Sports News:
Went to the last "Comic and Sports Card Show" at Lansdown Park today. Not much in Magic cards, but I did pick up a chase PK Subban fig. Still need to get the normal red version.

^ Chase PK Subban.

Useless Gaming News:
Ben and I went to Anthony's for some gaming Sat night. Played Bohnanza, Cartagena 2, and Pandemic.

^ Cartagena 2 and Pandemic.
Speaking of Pandemic, Season 2 of "The Walking Dead" started on Sunday night. Did everyone watch it? What a way to end the 1st episode!

Useless Idol News:
AKB48's Oshima Yuko is an official Final Fantasy XIII-2 beta tester, as "Judge XIII". The article says that if enough fans "like" the campaign site, she will cosplay as one of the characters at an event :)

BTW: Oct 17 is Yuko's Birthday!

Woody Broccoli

Dinner today -> Garlic Chives with Liver and Broccoli Stalks.
I made garlic chives with liver for dinner. I couldn't get any pork liver, so I used chicken liver. It's not the same way restaurants make this dish, but still good.
I also boiled some broccoli stems, but I should have peeled the outer skin off. It was really tough and woody.

Useless Idol News:
I woke-up tired this morning. I stayed up late last night getting the Kasai ending for the AKB 1/48 in Guam game. I still need to finish the game 3 more times for Kasai, inorder to unlock the secret "kiss" ending :)

^ AKB 1/48 in Guam - Kasai Good Ending.
This game is a really good sequel to the original game. There seems to be more random events. There's lots of cross member interactions too, especially when the AKB girls keep trying to intercept and steal you away from the girl your targeting :) I got Yuko and Haruna appearing together doing this, and Maeda showing up during my outing with Takamina.

SF Trip Part 6

If you haven't done so, read Part 5 first.

Tues Oct 4:
We got some free hotel breakfast in the morning. The hotel we stayed in had a waffle maker! The waffles were pretty tasty :)

^ Freshly Made Waffle.

We head off the airport afterwards.

^ SFO Airport.

There was this new Water Refilling Station. We checked out while waiting for our flight out.

^ Water Refill Station.
The water tasted freshly filtered compared to the water fountain water.

After I got home, I'm surprised I didn't buy more souvenirs. The stuff I got:

^ Grey Poupon and T-Shirt from Tech Museum.

^ Monterey Aquarium T-Shirts.

^ Pirate T-Shirt (Front & Back).

Dinner today -> Stuffed Clams.
I was looking for some pork liver at Superstore, but they didn't have any. Stuffed Clams were on sale so I decided to try them out.

^ Stuffed Clams.
They're not that good. Mostly bread and a little bit of clam. Not worth it, but they look delicious.

^ Stuffed Clams with Rice.

SF Trip Part 5

If you haven't done so, read Part 4 first.

Mon Oct 3:
Breakfast was free from the hotel. I got toast, eggs, cream cheese, and green tea.

^ Hotel Breakfast.

After breakfast, we then headed out to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

^ Monterey Bay Aquarium Sign.

We went to see the penguins 1st, as they were preparing them for feeding.

^ Penguins.

We went to the "Open Sea" area next as they were next for feeding, but the great white shark and the hammer head sharks didn't feel like eating.

^ Art made with Shark Teeth.

^ Jellyfish.

^ Short Jellyfish Video.
The video shows how tiny they are.

^ Seahorses.

^ Green Sea Turtle and Shrimp.

^ Skate and Skate Egg Case.
The Egg Case had a live Skate embryo in it. The bottom was cut open and resealed with a clear plastic sheet.

^ Misc Aquarium Pics.

For a late lunch/early dinner we went to Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Restaurant. It's the restaurant based from the Forest Gump movie. (There are locations in Tokyo and Osaka too!?!).

^ Bubba Gump Restaurant.
Ben got the "Texas Chicken Cajan Sandwich" with salad, and Jane got "Jenny's Catch with Lobster Butter Sauce".

^ Bubba Gump Meals.
Jenny's Catch is very rich and really good. I recommend it.
I got the "Steamed Shellfish" and a glass of frozen lemonade. I decided to go all out since I probably wouldn't be going back here again.

^ Fongpay with Lobster Bib and Steamed Shellfish.
I destroyed the seafood. I got every bit of meat out. The juices in the pot went really well with the jasmine rice. I also got to keep the light-up lemonade glass.

^ Light-up Glass.

After eating, we drove 3+hrs back to San Francisco in the middle of rush hour to our last hotel of the trip.
After checking-in, we went to McDonalds to get some McNuggets. Why? Because it was 20 McNuggets for only $5! We also went to Safeway and got some sourdough bread to make mini-McNugget sandwiches.

^ $5 for 20 McNuggets.
