Mon Oct 3:
Breakfast was free from the hotel. I got toast, eggs, cream cheese, and green tea.
^ Hotel Breakfast.
After breakfast, we then headed out to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
^ Monterey Bay Aquarium Sign.
We went to see the penguins 1st, as they were preparing them for feeding.
^ Penguins.
We went to the "Open Sea" area next as they were next for feeding, but the great white shark and the hammer head sharks didn't feel like eating.
^ Open Sea Area.
^ Art made with Shark Teeth.
^ Jellyfish.
^ Short Jellyfish Video.
The video shows how tiny they are.
^ Seahorses.
^ Green Sea Turtle and Shrimp.
^ Skate and Skate Egg Case.
The Egg Case had a live Skate embryo in it. The bottom was cut open and resealed with a clear plastic sheet.
^ Misc Aquarium Pics.
For a late lunch/early dinner we went to Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Restaurant. It's the restaurant based from the Forest Gump movie. (There are locations in Tokyo and Osaka too!?!).
^ Bubba Gump Restaurant.
Ben got the "Texas Chicken Cajan Sandwich" with salad, and Jane got "Jenny's Catch with Lobster Butter Sauce".
^ Bubba Gump Meals.
Jenny's Catch is very rich and really good. I recommend it.
I got the "Steamed Shellfish" and a glass of frozen lemonade. I decided to go all out since I probably wouldn't be going back here again.
^ Fongpay with Lobster Bib and Steamed Shellfish.
I destroyed the seafood. I got every bit of meat out. The juices in the pot went really well with the jasmine rice. I also got to keep the light-up lemonade glass.
^ Light-up Glass.
After eating, we drove 3+hrs back to San Francisco in the middle of rush hour to our last hotel of the trip.
After checking-in, we went to McDonalds to get some McNuggets. Why? Because it was 20 McNuggets for only $5! We also went to Safeway and got some sourdough bread to make mini-McNugget sandwiches.
^ $5 for 20 McNuggets.
