There was a CMC Strike Fighters softball practice today, so I made a quick dinner before Marc picked me up. Sesame Bagel with Onion & Chives Cream Cheese and Mock Chicken.

The 3rd Senbatsu Election Posters for AKB48's 22 Single are out on display at the AKB Theatre. Voting takes place between May 25 to June 6. I don't think I'll be getting my CDs in time to vote for Kasai.

I Got Super Garlic Breath. Villains Beware!

Thu got a new job today doing testing and QA.

Dinner today -> Liver and Garlic Chives.
I tried re-creating a dish I had in Chinatown. It tasted similar, but I think I needed to thicken the sauce and add some more salt or oyster sauce. The garlic chives are really good and have a super strong garlic flavour.

After eating this dish, I had super garlic breath. I tried to cover it up with some chocolate ice cream, but the garlic breath just blasted through it.

I Can See the Skeleton!

I got some new fish for my aquarium today: 3 Glass Catfish. They are pretty cool. The body is transparent so you can see their bones!

This was so worth it. For $20, there was alot of large crab legs in the package.

Weekend Report: Mother's Day

My dad's retirement from CMC for 36 yrs of service, was on Friday at Baton Rouge. Speeches by Jim and my dad.

I finally got a myself a good steak too. I ordered a medium-rare rib steak and I got it medium-rare :)

Food this weekend ->
Live lobsters were on sale at Metro this weekend. I got 2 and I completely destroyed them :) They were so good. 1 was female and full of lobster roe! I boiled them is salty water with a few red potatoes.

Saturday night the family went out for dinner at Little Sheep Mongolian Hotpot. It was for Ben's Birthday.
I thought I ate alot, but I think Jane and Ben ate way more than me!

Relatives from Toronto visited on Sunday, and we had a big Mother's Day BBQ with our grandparents. We always make too much food, and we stuffed ourselves silly.

Useless Gaming Info:
I discovered that there are some iPhone apps for the Fighting Fantasy game books I used to read. I bought the Deathtrap Dungeon book and read/played it til 3:30am Saturday night. The app automatically does everything the book does, but I felt that the dice rolls for the monsters (red dice) usually roll higher than the player's dice (blue dice) rolls.
I think I will be getting the other FF apps, even though I already have all the re-released books and most of the original books.

I Hate Well-Done Steak

I had a lunch paid for by CMC at Montana's Cookhouse in the Centrum today. It was for completing one of my projects and the Kanata team was invited out for lunch.
I ordered the featured meal, a cookhouse 8oz Sirloin steak. The picture on the menu looked really good.
I ordered it medium rare, with smashed potatoes, fried onions, and spiced corn.
What I got was a well-done steak, smashed potatoes, fried onions, and coleslaw.
I was really disappointed with the steak. It was way over-cooked and tiny! I like my meat bloody. I would have sent it back if I hadn't been sitting there for an hour already.

I forgot to take a picture of the meal, but I created my rendition with Paint. The smashed potatoes with cheese was really good as was the fried onions.

Friday is my dad's retirement luncheon from CMC. I think he's been with CMC for 37 years? I'll need to meet or beat that record :)
His lunch is at Baton Rouge. Hopefully the steak shouldn't be screwed up there.

Rideau Meat-a-polooza

I'm all set for this year's softball season to start. I picked up some cleats from Sports Experts. They were on sale for $29.99 from $59.99.

Lunch today -> Rideau Meat-a-polooza.
Our annual "Robot Hockey Awards Ceremony and Banquet" was held at Rideau Restaurant today. "Chuck Norris" won this year, and got his name engraved on the trophy. His is the 1st name on the side of the trophy.

For food, all we ordered were meat dishes:
Tender black pepper steak, General Tao chicken, lemon chicken, salt & pepper squid, sweet & sour fish fillet, and 2x Szechuan beef. I was surprised that the fish was really good.

Did anyone watch Supernatural Wednesday night? Dean discovered a new monster and named them, "Jefferson Starships"! LOL And the name stuck!
