Black Flies and Mosquitoes Bites.

Dinner today -> Fish Rice.
Made another batch of fish rice.  It's easy to make and good.  This time I added a blob of butter instead of oil.  Added a nice buttery taste.

Useless Softball News:
Double header vs Rockwell Collins tonight. 
Game#1 we lost 14-13.  We almost tied it up in the last inning.  During this game, the little black flies were relentless and annoying.
I hit 2-for-4 with 2 singles.

Game#2 we won 23-10. 
I hit 2-for-5 with 2 singles, but I was robbed of another single by their right fielder, who came out of nowhere and snagged my fly ball.  We made a couple of good plays at home including a double-play at the plate.
As the sun went down, out came all these mosquitoes.  We were eaten alive!  The bug spray didn't seem effective.  The damage to myself:
Right arm = 4 bites,
Left arm = 3 bites,
Right leg = 6 bites,
Left leg = 4 bites,
AND Left butt cheek = 1 bite.

Weekend Report: Rice Cooker Pancake Works.

Got my hair cut from my normal place "DanAldo's", but this time it seemed it was shorter than normal?  Maybe it's just me but I thought the sides were too short.
Missed out on gaming this weekend too.  I forgot my phone at home when I went to work and shopping on Saturday.

Food this weekend ->
I made 2 meals with my rice cooker this weekend. 
First I made a rice cooker pancake.  I used Aunt Jemima Buttermilk Pancake mix.

It turned out pretty well.  After pressing down the sides abit, the pancake falls right out.

It was abit dense, but not bad.  Felt like it needed something to make it abit sweeter.

Sliced it up like pizza and topped with butter and syrup.  Maybe next time I'll just mix the butter and syrup in the rice cooker too.

The 2nd rice cooker dish was fish rice.  I followed a similar recipe from HKT48 no Odekake! (episode 27).
I made rice using a broth of 1 part soy sauce, 1 part mirin, and 2 parts rice wine + water to the right level.  Topped it with a can of salmon (forgot to get fresh fish when I was out).

When done, I mixed the fish into the rice and added abit of oil.  The show added edamame but I didn't have any in the freezer.  It taste good like this, but I don't think it's everyone's taste.  It's fishy, but a good fishy.

Loud Chirping Bird

Definitely sick with a summer cold?  I went home at lunchtime and tried to get some sleep.  I had the windows open as it was cool today, but this stupid bird outside wouldn't stop chirping for hours!  It was super loud too.

Dinner today -> Scooby Doos with Meat Sauce.
Made a meat sauce with ground beef, frozen veggies, garlic, onions, sour cream, and tomato sauce.  Then stirred in some Scooby Doo pasta.

Lunch today -> Chicken Salad Sandwich.
Made a couple of chicken salad sandwiches for lunch today.  The chicken salad filling was 50% off at Farmboy on Monday.  It was alright.  It needed more Miracle Whip.

A fan-made Grey Poupon commercial was in the news a few days ago.  I remembered to watch it last night.  It's pretty good, but I still like "Ship my pants" more.
