Worldly Salts

Dinner today -> Fast Congee.
I made congee using the trick my mom showed me (freezing the rice), and it does work!  I added some left over rice, roastbeef, and a couple preserved eggs.

Useless Food News:
Speak of salt, I picked up this pack of worldly salts from Costco.  It reminded me of the time when Gavin, Emi, Ben, and I went to eat Yakiniku in Osaka, Japan.  There were different salt from around the world to flavour the grilled meat at the tables.  It was cool idea.

Dinner today -> Leftover Roast Beef.
I cooked some rice using the juices/drippings from the roast beef and the veggies.  Man, was the rice good and spicy :)  Nuked the last of the meat and veggies.

I think I need to try this new restaurant out: Gezellig.  It opened today in Westbro.  Here is the Ottawa Citizen article.

Useless Idol News:
Today was AKB48 Team B's final performance of Stage B5 "Theatre no Megami".  After this, the members will be shuffled into new A, K, and B teams.
I want to watch this performance.  I want to watch the last B5 performance of "Candy"!  Kasai moves to Team A, so I hope she gets another good song.

KNH Disappointment

Food this weekend ->
Went to KNH (Kanata Noodle House) with a couple boyz from CMC.  We got 3 dishes:
Shrimp, Beef, and Chicken Vermicelli,

and I got the Beef and vegetables with crispy egg noodles.

I was disappointed with my crispy noodles:

1. It looked way smaller than the last time I saw someone else get the same dish.
2. I was not full/satisfied after finishing the plate.
3. The biggest problem was there was celery included as vegetables.  The celery contaminated the whole dish and should never be used as filler or in asian cuisine.

I should have just gotten Pho or Vermicelli.

Got some buns from Chinatown Saturday morning: BBQ Pork Buns, Fried Curry Buns, and Hotdog Buns.

Picked up a blade beef roast on the way home.  Cooked it just like last time, except I cooked for 15 mins less.

But it still turned out medium, instead of medium rare.  I should really invest in a meat thermometer.

I got a call from Toys R Us to pick up a Masterpiece Prime.  They only held 1 for me, so I kept my raincheck for more later.

Useless Idol News:
AKB48 was on a repeat episode of Music Station this weekend on TV Japan.  The girls performed Gingham Check and First Rabbit.

The rabbit imitations during First Rabbit are pretty cute.

Lunch today -> Scores 2 Leg Meal.
I got a couple of chicken legs for lunch with fries, gravy, coleslaw, and bread.  Only $11.41 for the meal.  The gravy was watery so after a few bites of chicken or fries, I would sip the gravy :)

Dinner today -> T&T Congee.
I got 4 containers of discount pork and preserved egg congee.  I like how T&T makes this with lots of preserved egg and pork.  The ginger they put in it is finger sized chunks so I can easily pick it out.

Useless Toy News:
I got a couple more Nano cars.  I got a recycle garbage truck and a Pho Truck!  When I saw the pho truck, I had to buy this set :)

Lunch today -> Free Willy's Pizza.
I was in a meeting all day for one of my projects and unexpectedly, we got 4 large pizzas for lunch from Willy's!  Look at those bacon strips!

I regret eating a bagel for breakfast.  I was only able to eat 2 slices.  I saved a 3rd to take home.

Medium Roast

Dinner today -> Roast Beef with Veggies.
I got a chunk of beef from Sobey's and roasted it in my stone pot with some mini-potatoes, organic carrots, onions, and garlic.
