Kings Win Cup

The LA Kings won the Stanley Cup tonight.  I forgot the game was tonight and completely missed it.  I caught the Matthew Perry interview and the celebration on CBC.

Lunch today -> Spaghetti.
Used up the last of the spaghetti sauce at lunch time.  I make it by mixing Bravo Tomato sauce, a spoonful of Garlic Butter, and a couple globs of Sour Cream.

Useless Softball News:
The CMC Strike Fighters continued playing in the softball tournament this weekend.  We made it all the way to the C Division Finals on Saturday.

On Friday night, we played Rockwell Collins (C Division).  It was an even match-up and we just beat them 17-16.  We won the game on the final at-bat.  We had the winning run at 3rd with 2 out.  Mark grounded the ball to the pitcher and it should have been and easy out.  When the pitcher went to throw the ball to 1st base, he threw the ball straight into the ground!!!  The runner on 3rd scored and we won on that error.

The 1st Saturday game was the Quarter-Finals vs Masterbatters (C Division).  We won 14-3.

The next game was the Semi-Finals vs Don Cherry's (B Division). Won 15-14 in a game where the Umpire made some erroneous calls.  The umpire's call is final and he explained his calls.  The other team was extremely unhappy and some of them were poor sports about it at the end.

In the Finals we played Risktakers (B Division).  We lost 20-8.  I think we could have beaten them, but our team looked really tired.  We were playing our 5th game in 3 days and our 3rd that day.  The player I was talking to on Risktakers told me it was their 2nd game that day since 12:30.

We finished in 2nd place.  I can't believe we made it to the finals.  We are a C division team and we faced 2 C teams and 3 B teams to get there.  We got there with only half the core players too.  If we had our standard roster, we could have taken it.

Food this weekend ->
Made spaghetti Saturday night after the games.  It was late and I was tempted to go to Rideau or Kanata Noodle House, but I didn't.

On Sunday I scrambled 5 eggs and added a can of tuna.  I was tired and my legs were too sore to stand and cook.

Match 1 Loss

Useless Softball News:
We lost our 1st tournament game today against "The Crew", 20-2.  We only gave up one 10 run inning.  I was told they used to be an A-division team that dropped to B division this year, so we were expected to lose.  Plus we wanted to lose so we can stay in the C-Division bracket.
Even though we lost, we had some good plays:
- Dave (SS) to Alex (1st) double play.
- Alex (1st) to Fongpay (C) for an almost double play.  The guy turned around and went back to 3rd before crossing the commit line.  I almost did the splits in order to catch the ball AND keep my foot on home plate.  It would have been an awesome out.
I hit 1-for-1 today with a single and 2 walks.  Playoff Game 2 will be Friday night.
LOL1: I missed played one of Gary's pitches and popped the ball up over my head.  The umpire trying to catch it with a downward grab, somehow spiked it into his own groin!  LOL
LOL2: For some reason Alex kept yelling out "there's 2 away", when there was only 1 out; and one time there were 0 outs.  What game was he playing?

Lunch today -> Kanata Noodle House.

2012 General Election

I woke up at 4:10am today (after going to bed at 2am) to watch the AKB48 2012 General Election live.  It started at 4:30am and ended around 9am.  It was pretty long watching the top 64 members being selected out of 237 members.

This year Kasai ranked in at #12 with 27005 votes.  Last year she was #16.  She ranked higher than I thought she would :) and she made Senbatsu (top 16).  This was her speech:

LOL Momemt: #58 "Fresh Lemon" speaks with a really high pitched voice and when she gave her speech, the english dub translator suddenly started speaking in a higher pitched voice too.
LOL Moment 2: #15 Yuihan's speech was just like last year, where she was hyperventilating/crying.
Note: Akicha dropped to #17 (out of Senbatsu) from #12 last year.  She totally looked NOT happy at all.

After watching the election, I went to sleep til 1pm.  I got up and headed off to the Stittsville Ontario Services branch.  Since my birthday is coming up, I needed to get my Health Card and Driver's License renewed.  The Stittsville branch is small but there is almost no waiting in line.
I McDonalds to go for a late lunch: 3 McDoubles.

Slaughtered

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strike Fighters got slaughtered 32-10 against Alcatel tonight.  They were hitting the ball everywhere we were not.  The season is not starting off well for us.  We need Marc back (and Stefano too).
My worst game this season was today as I only went 1-for-4 at bat with a single.  It could have been a double, but I tripped on 1st base as it was loose.
Julie debuted in this game and took a 1-bounce line drive into her jaw.  It looked bad from where I was at catch, but she toughed it out and continued playing :)  She only cut her lip and gums, but I think her jaw might swell up tomorrow?

Dinner today -> Subway Cold Cut Trio Meal.
We played until 8pm, so there was no whole BBQ chickens left at Sobey's.  I should got one after work instead of waiting will after softball.  I got a cold cut trio from Subway on the way home.
Is it just me, or does the foot long bread look smaller now than before?

I took a vacation day on Wednesday so I can watch the AKB48 2012 Election on Google+ ^_^.  It starts at 4:20am EST and the 1st place speech will be after 10am EST. (UPDATE: I changed the link to the english Youtube link.  Looks like the English Google+ site crashed.)
I voted for Kasai 4 times, but check these pics for Kashiwagi and this SKE girl.  Some people are really into this or are nuts!

The steak and mash potatoes I made on the weekend was so good, especially the mash potatoes, I made another plate.  The butter and herb mash potatoes are Betty Crocker brand.  I think I got the box for $1 at Walmart.

Weekend Report: 3 dishes.

Food this weekend ->
I made some dip on Saturday.  I combined hot salsa from Super Store, with 1/3 a container of sour cream, 2 chopped avocados, 1/3 bag of 3 cheddar cheese, and salt & pepper.  I wish I had some bacon to add.

I made some instant mash potatoes to go with a steak a made.  It was garlic and herb flavoured potatoes.  It was actually really good.  I thought it would have tasted like cardboard but it doesn't.
