Happy Chinese New Year!!!
This year is the Year of the Dragon.
Ben, Susanna, and I got our parents for Christmas, some silver Chinese zodiac lotus coins (non-traditional shaped coins). This is the 3rd year they produced the coins (1 coin per year). This year's Dragon coin looks pretty good.

Happy Chinese New Year's Eve 2012!
Happy Chinese New Year's Eve!
^ Prayer Setup.
My mom made New Year's dinner. I was starving. I didn't wake up until 2:30pm on Sunday (see why below) and didn't eat anything until New Year's dinner.

Ben, Susanna, and I went back home for prayers at midnight. We burned a special incense that reveals a fortune as it burns. Ours approximately says "safety for the family". We also ate a vegetarian meal.

Useless Idol News:
AKB48 held their annual "Request Hour Setlist Best 100" over 4 days this weekend.
On Day 3, "RIVER" placed at #54 from #14 last year.
My 4 votes went to "Candy", and it finished at #32, dropping from #15.

Day 4 was streamed live on Google+ and Youtube. It started at 4am on Sunday. I stayed up playing Skyrim until 3:10am, took a 30min nap, and then got up to watch Day 4. I watched in on my computer and my iPhone (so I can take screen shots). I wasn't sure if the stream would work on my iPhone, but it did.

It opened with "Ponytail to Shushu" at #25! (from #3). Way lower than I thought it would be.

For the Encore, they showed a video of some of the girls learning to play music instruments for the first time. I think only Yuko (bass guitar) and Sasshi (trombone) have experience with their instruments. This was for preparation for their next single "GIVE ME FIVE", where they form a band called "Baby Blossom".
After the video, they played the instruments live for the encore. It sounded OK, but may get better if they practice more.

Slow Service
Lunch today -> Hockey Sushi.
Went to Hockey Sushi for lunch, but I forgot my phone at my desk, so no pics. The service today was really slow and they didn't bring everything we ordered. I think we got about 80% of our order, and some maki rolls we didn't order (we ate those anyways as we were hungry). We were there for 1.5hrs and I ate a semi-satisfying meal. I think I could have ordered more, if I had time to stick around.

AKB48 Request Best 100 started on Thursday and will end on Sunday. Today was fan voted songs #100 to #76.
On Sunday the top 25 will be performed with live steaming on Google+ and YouTube. Also, some cameras will steam live feeds of individual girls on their own Google+ pages. I might follow Oshima Yuko's or Sashihara Rino's feed (I think these 2 will be the most interesting), but most likely I'll just follow the general one on YouTube.
I think on Sunday, the stream starts at 6pm JST (= 4am EST). Not sure if I'll just stay up all night on Saturday or sleep for an hour and get up...

Will It Be Frozen Yogurt?

Early to Rise
I went to bed at 2am Monday night and got up at 5:30am to get to work for 6am. My plan was to get in early and leave early to avoid the "big" winter storm. I left at 2:30pm, but there was no storm at all! I think only a few cm of snow fell Kanata all afternoon and evening.
Snack today -> Edamame.
I boiled some edamame for a snack when I got home. Ate those while doing the laundry and watching an AKB48 concert :)

Death Oil
Death Oil on sale. Anthony saw this ad for Chinese New Year specials. Note the price... LOL

Dinner today -> Steak with Garlic Chives.
Slice up some chewy blade steak (I prefer it chewy) and stir fried it with some garlic chives. I should have made some rice to go with it, but I was hungry when I got home and didn't want to wait for the rice to cook. I ate it with a couple of bagels instead.

Merchants and Sharks
Food this weekend ->
Made some instant pancakes by Bisquick. I made a whole bunch of small pancakes and 1 big one. I stacked the pancakes by alternating butter and peanut butter between them and then covered them with Syrup :)

I think the dollar store brand I got last time was better, but this one was good too.
^ Christmas Pasta with Garlic Tomato Sauce.
^ Christmas Pasta with Salmon, Mussels, Cream of Chicken and Mushroom Soup.

Got together with Gordon and Ben to play some board games. We played "HansaTeutonica", "Castle Panic", and "Survive: Escape from Atlantis!"
