Ghost Shrimp Feasting on Mussel

Lunch today -> Garlic Shrimp Chips.
Had a meeting run long into lunch hour and I had another meeting soon afterwards, so I didn't have time to go get a lunch.  I resorted to eating half a bag of garlic shrimp chips for lunch.  They were actually good enough to hold me over til I got home at 6.  I've only found this type of shrimp chips at the Kanata Asian Grocery Store on Hazeldean by Good Life.

Dinner today -> Mussels.

I ate about half from the shells.  I then de-shelled the remaining mussels, thickened the sauce, and poured it over microwave chicken rice.

Useless Aquarium News:
I put one of the "bad" mussels into my aquarium for my shrimp to eat.  I came back after an hour and I found most of them surrounding the mussel and feasting on it!  It was cool to watch.

Useless Birthday News:
Got a couple early birthday presents this week. 
Jeff and Linda got me some Montreal Canadiens BBQ utensils: tongs and a burger flipper.  Almost too nice to use, but I'll use them next time I BBQ.  Not sure when though.  My BBQ is at CMC for a charity CHEO BBQ I organized on Friday.

Susanna got me a puzzle.  Apparently it's the "world's most difficult jigsaw puzzle"  The picture is printed on both sides, but one side is rotated 90 degrees.  Also all the pieces are the same shape.  This should take me alot of hours to finish.

Breakfast Burger

Lunch today -> Breakfast Burger.
Food Truck Wednesday today.  Today was Wraps and Big D's.  I choose Big D's.  His prices seemed to have gone up.  Up alot!  Gourmet Burger is $7.25 and Gourmet Poutine is $10.25!
I got a burger today.  I got a the Breakfast Burger.  It has bacon, eggs, and cheese on it.  The egg was perfect.  I bit it and the yolk was still runny.

Everything was good, but the price, especially when I bought a water for $2 (I didn't know it was $2, I thought it was $1).  I also tipped 0.75.  So I spent $10 on a burger and water... when compared to the Burger King deal of 2 Whopper Meals for $10 (2 Whoppers, 2 fries, and 2 drinks), I way over paid.

Went to Sobey's at lunchtime to find something to eat with my hard boiled egg.  I got a box a cheese croissants, box of vanilla ice cream popsicles, and a medium bottle of orange, strawberry & bananna smoothie.

The cheese croissants were OK, but after heating them in the microwave, they were amazingly good.
The popsicles are standard.  Nothing special, but they were on sale this week for $2 off.
The smoothie was pretty good too.  Probably not worth the $3.99 price.

Snack today -> Takis Fuego.
Got a bag of Takis Fuego from Sobeys for $0.99.

It's rolled corn chips with a pepper and lime flavour.  It says it is 4/4 hot, but it wasn't that hot.  It's got a weaker heat than the Doritos Heat Wave and didn't taste nearly as good.  They tasted kind of burnt to me.  (FYI: Doritos Heat Wave are on sale at Sobey's this week too: $1 off)

Dinner today ->  Ramen with Short Ribs.
Softball was cancelled tonight because 2nd base was a lake.  So I made myself a big dinner with 2 packs of chicken ramen topped with 4 strips of short ribs.  Watched some AKB0048 episodes while eating the ramen for dinner.

Just found out today that there will be more Corner Gas episodes coming.  The new episodes will be "Corner Gas Animated".  Yes!

Doritos Heat Wave

Dinner today -> Short Rib Salad.
Pan cooked 4 short ribs from Costco.  I think they have improved their BBQ marinade on them.  Still not as good as the Korean BBQ marinade I use, but good enough if I want to be lazy and not wash it off.
I used the short ribs for topping my kale, cabbage, cranberry salad.  The salad comes with a strawberry poppy seed dressing.  It's pretty good.

Useless Food News:
Saw the new commercial for the new Limited Edition Doritos Heat Wave on Friday.  Picked some up on the weekend and tried it today for a snack.

I really like it.  It starts like a BBQ Dorito, but then the heat kicks in.  It's a good strong heat that lingers, but not overpowering.  I'll need to get some more bags :)

Weekend Report -> Wonder Woman Movie

Food this weekend ->
Friday was National Donut Day.  We got 120 Timbits for the company.

Went to Swiss Chalet before seeing Wonder Woman on Friday night.  I got the limited time fried chicken.  I decided to get the half chicken meal (4 pieces) for $5 more than the 2 piece meal.  I got mash potatoes and corn for the sides.

The fried chicken is very good.  Not as flavourful as KFC, but more crispy and not as greasy.  I was really hungry as I didn't eat much more than the timbits all day.  I completely destroyed the plate and ate everything clean.

I made Chinese greens with beef on Saturday.  The beef were some cheap steaks I got from Walmart.  Pre-marinated with salt and pepper.

Useless Movie News:
Watched Wonder Woman on Friday in Barrhaven with Brian, Gordon, and Ben.  I liked the movie.  It was very good.  I could have done without the 3D.  It didn't add anything, and I think it actually took away from the movie. 
The first part of the movie was about Diana's backstory. 
The 2nd part was about a World War 1 battle, but it felt like a war documentary.  Diana gives Captain America a run for who is the best shield wielder too.  Also the bell town set looked like a layout from the original Battlefield 1 on PC. 
The final act was so-so.  I wasn't impressed with the final fight.

Useless Gaming News:
Impromtu gaming at Jeff's Sunday night.  We played Sushi Go!, Doodle Quest, and Camel Up.

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strike Fighters vs Big Hitties tonight.  We played a much better game than last week, with only a couple errors that could have gotten outs.  We won 20-12.  The games seem much shorter now because we only play a maximum 6 runs per inning.
I hit 3-for-4 with a double, double, pop out, and single.  I scored 4 RBI too.

Went to Toys R Us at lunchtime today.  Found the TRU Exclusive "Chaos on Velocitron" box set.  It was on sale for $112 from $149 that started today.

Friday is National Donut Day!  Susanna's company is getting Suzy Q.  Were only getting Timbits.  Oh well, it's better than nothing.

Wednesday's Food Trucks Are Back

Lunch today -> Asian Tacos.
Katie and Peter dropped by my desk at lunchtime, catching me right before I was about to go home for lunch.  They came to pick me up so we can head over to the Wednesday Food Trucks in the Kanata Hub.  Apparently it started last week, but no one knew.  I didn't see any signs up either.
There were 2 food trucks today.  One had Asian tacos and the other was pita wraps.  I decided to get tacos.  I got 3: spicy chicken, curry beef, and sweet and sour pork.

They were OK.  I didn't really like the spicy chicken very much or the sweet and sour pork.  The curry beef was good.  Not very much meat and alot of pickled veggies.

Useless Gaming News:
4-Player Imhotep after work tonight.  We played with all the B-side locations.  The B-sides make the game very different from the A-sides and requires more thought and strategy of where to move boats.  Evan won.  He got an early lead and never let go.  I was well back in last.
