Weekend Report: Happy Birthday Zack!!!

Zack's 4th Birthday Party:

There were a ton of kids there and they all seemed to be wired up on sugar!  They were running around in circles like a HotWheels track and eventually some of them would collide :)

Food this weekend ->
Got some mini-BBQ Pork Buns and Spring Rolls from Chinatown.  I wanted regular sized BBQ Pork Buns and Hotdog Buns, but they were all sold out.

Lobster tails were on sale at Loblaws this weekend for $1.99 each.  I got 7 and package of ground pork.  I made Lobster Tails in Lobster Sauce.  I made way too much and dropped off half at my parents.

Served it on white rice.  The previously frozen lobster meat stuck to the shell.  Fresh lobster meat doesn't do that.

After Susanna and I went to the Midnight sale at Toys R Us on Friday night, we each got a Pho #15 XL from the Kanata Noodle House to go.  There was so much meat and noodles, the container's lid couldn't close all the way!

Useless Toy News:
There was a big sale at Toys R Us on Friday.  I hit both St.Laurent and Merivale stores.  Picked up a bunch of Transformers and Nerf Guns.  Still need to find Masterpiece Prime and Thundercracker.  All TFs are 30% off this week.

One Dozen Deep Fried Oysters

Conan O'Brien or Andy Richter tweeted this (I don't remember which one). I assume this is from a chinese restaurant that serves congee.  Susanna likes frog.  Maybe she should make it.

Dinner today -> Fried Oysters.
I panko breaded and deep fried 12 oysters for dinner.  They were so good.  Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.  Served it on rice with a splash of lemon and salt.

I picked up a new game in Montreal: Lightning Reaction.  It's 4 player reaction game that shocks players.  There are 4 levels.  We mostly played level 2, but little Kyle and Tyler turned it up to level 4 and got themselves good.

Really Sweet "Horsey"

Lunch today -> Spaghetti, Hotdog Bun and Spring Roll.
Went home for lunch today.  Cooked some spaghetti and re-heated leftover hotdog bun and spring roll from the MTL car ride.

I also ate some Egg Tarts and really sweet "Horsey" (that's what it translates to in english).  This is the good stuff from Montreal Chinatown.  The egg tart shell is flaky not mushy.

AKB48's 28th single "UZA" was performed on Music Station this past weekend.  UZA comes out on Halloween.

Long Weekend Report: Thanksgiving Birthday

Food this weekend ->
Gavin, Emi, + Kids dropped by from Toronto.  They brought me apple chips and an apple pie from The Big Apple.  The chips are good.  I haven't tried the pie yet.

Went to Montreal on Sunday for my uncle's birthday.  We had a huge meal at Chinatown.  There was sooooo much food!

The Nutella Cake is really good.  It's layer upon layer of whipped Nutella and crepes.  I brought 1/4 of the cake home :)

After the huge meal on Sunday, I made a simple spaghetti with garlic butter and tomato sauce, topped with green onions on Monday.

Picked the newest Magic set: Return to Ravnica on Friday from Miraj Trading.  They got the best prices in the city.  I've been busy with other stuff, that I've only opened half a booster box so far.

Dinner today -> 1/2 Chicken and Rice.
Got a Costco Chicken for dinner today.  I cut it in half and served it with rice.

The newest Magic set: Return to Ravnica, is out Friday.  The set looks OK.  I think the White-Blue "Detain" ability is really powerful.

Useless Shopping News:
The Warehouse Sale started last week at the Nepean Sportsplex.  It goes until this Monday.  I need to go and get a couple of towels.
I want one of these, but I won't find it at the sale.
