It Stinks!!! Peeee-ewwww!!!

There was a stinky smell throughout the downstairs offices today (and very near my desk).  One of the marketing managers and his dog got sprayed by a skunk!  I guess he didn't wash it off in tomato juice.  He left early, but the smell still lingered.

Today was the 1st day of March Break, so I figured T&T may have cooked too much food today, because of the people taking vacation this week and not buying food there for lunch.  I was right and there was a ton of reduced goodies today. 
I picked up: Pork Belly with Chinese Greens and Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork, Chow Mein, Fried Squid, Fried Tofu with Pork, Fried Daikon Squares, Sweet BBQ Pork Pastries, and Sausage Rolls.  This stuff should last me a few days.

Today was the 2nd anniversary of the Japan Tohoku Disaster.  AKB48 held 10 simultaneous concerts in the region for charity and to raise spirits.
Kasai was part of the Iwaki concert, with the Tomo-Tomo combo!  Pics and fan recorded videos in the link.
UPDATE: In the videos, the girls perform "Aitakatta", "Gingham Check" (Kasai centered), and "Kaze wa Fuiteiru" (Kasai with the moves!).  BTW from those fan's point of view, I think the girl's skirts are a tad too short, especially with the wind flipping them up :)

Weekend Report: Time Change

Did everyone remember to reset your clocks Saturday night?  I was up til 5am because of the time change.

Food this weekend ->
Picked up some T&T pre-cooked foods.  Got some BBQ Pork, Roast Pork, Marinated Chicken Wings, and Spring Rolls.  The Roast Pork skin was super crispy!  I was looking for another fried dungeoness crab, but they didn't have any.

I also got some discounted Short Ribs from Super Walmart.  They were cut thick, so I didn't marinated them in Korean BBQ sauce.  I just salt & peppered them and pan fried it.  Added broccoli and cherry tomatoes.

I made another batch of chow mein, but this time I used the BBQ Pork, nappa, and straw mushrooms.  The can of straw mushrooms says these were sliced, but they weren't.  They were just broken.  What a sneaky way to get rid of these!

On Friday, AKB48 release a new song for the Japan Tohoku Charity (Tsunami disaster).  It's called "Tenchira ga Katarukoto" and it's free to download.  Download it here.  A calming ballad.
The girls also performed it this weekend on NHK's charity concert.

Lunch today -> Vietnamese Subs.
I picked these up on Wednesday and had one today.  The local shop that sells these subs, gets them shipped directly from Montreal!  They are $2.50 each including tax.  A real bargain for these tasty subs.
BTW: Notice all that green coriander in there.  All that green stuff went directly into the garbage as I don't like it.  Too bad some of it was pressed into the pate so it acquired a hint of the coriander flavour.

Snack today -> 2 Types of Shredded Squid.
I picked up these 2 types of shredded squid from T&T.  They are normally $8 each, but were on sale for $5.  They are imported from Japan too!
One type was the regular shredded squid.  The other was battered and fried.  I wasn't sure if this was going to be good or not, but it was good.  It wasn't crispy but tasted good.  And it wasn't greasy at all.  The only problem is that it is expensive for just a snack.

Last week’s Music Station had AKB48 on again.  The girls performed "So long!" and "GIVE ME FIVE!". (Steve, you should have Isabella watch it.  She will like GM5.)  The cyborg (Mayu) still looking cool, but not as cool as the Rie/Mariko 2-shot during GM5.  Still not enough Rie shots.

Dinner today -> BBQ Chicken Chow Mein.
Made some home-made chow mein.  I shredded the left over BBQ chicken from T&T, and added nappa, whole straw mushrooms, and water chestnuts.  I cooked too much of the noodles, so I made 2 batches of chow mein.  It tasted good, but could have used some BBQ pork, baby corn, and quail eggs.

Went to T&T afterwards, hoping to score some good cheap food.  But there wasn't much to pick from today.  I got some BBQ chicken and some battered fish.  The fish was really tasty.  Last Monday's pickings were better.

Dinner today -> Kraft Dinner with Fish Sticks.
I initially baked some fish sticks, but I didn't think that would be enough.  So I also made a box of Kraft Dinner too.  The KD box had expired in 2011, but everything still tasted fine.  I didn't know KD could expire because it's got that health neon orange glow... :)

Weekend Report: Destroyed Dungeness Crab

Nothing going on this weekend.  I slept in til noon on saturday, but then stayed up til 5am playing Diablo 3.  I was planning on doing some cleanup and my taxes, but I got lazy and put it off for next week.

My parents picked me a up a cooked dungeness crab from T&T.  I didn't know that they made this!

It was really good and spicy.  It took me 2 hrs to eat slowly while watching HKT48 shows, but I destroyed it really clean :)
