Birthday Lunch at Rideau.

Lunch today -> Rideau Restaurant.
Went out for my birthday lunch with some of the CMC crew to Rideau Restaurant.  We got 8 plates + 8 spring rolls.  We destroyed the Lemon Chicken and 1 plate of Schzewan Beef before the other plates arrived.  I got a pic off just in time.

The other dishes were a General Tao Chicken, Tofu Delight (really good), Chicken and Scallop Birds Nest, Singapore Vermicelli, a 2nd Schzewan Beef, and Curry Beef (not shown).

Dinner today -> Curry Ramen.
I was stuffed from lunch so I had a really late dinner, 10:30pm.  I put together some curry ramen in 5 mins.

Pre-Birthday Dinner

Dinner today -> Chinese Food
I went home for dinner for a pre-birthday dinner.  My dad got take-out from Rideau and the Chinese restaurant by Arby's.  Not sure why my mom wanted to have my birthday dinner the day before my birthday?

My birthday is coming up and I can really use one of these Oshima Yuko autographs.  I would prefer a Kasai one, but Yuko is just as good.  I'm sure some of you would really like to spend $500 on me ;)

Useless Softball News:
CMC Strike Fighters lost to Chipworks 17-11 today.  I think we could have beaten them, but some of us had trouble hitting off their pitcher's slow lob balls.  Most of us kept popping it up for an easy fly out.
I only hit 1-for-3, single and 2 pop outs.  Very unlike me.

Dinner today -> Curry
I started preparing for curry yesterday by boiling and cooling some marrow filled soup bones and rib-finger meat. 
Today, I scooped out the solidified fat, reboiled and added the veggies and Osaka curry.  It was a little bit too salty but still tasty.  The meat was tender.

Kings Win Cup

The LA Kings won the Stanley Cup tonight.  I forgot the game was tonight and completely missed it.  I caught the Matthew Perry interview and the celebration on CBC.

Lunch today -> Spaghetti.
Used up the last of the spaghetti sauce at lunch time.  I make it by mixing Bravo Tomato sauce, a spoonful of Garlic Butter, and a couple globs of Sour Cream.

Useless Softball News:
The CMC Strike Fighters continued playing in the softball tournament this weekend.  We made it all the way to the C Division Finals on Saturday.

On Friday night, we played Rockwell Collins (C Division).  It was an even match-up and we just beat them 17-16.  We won the game on the final at-bat.  We had the winning run at 3rd with 2 out.  Mark grounded the ball to the pitcher and it should have been and easy out.  When the pitcher went to throw the ball to 1st base, he threw the ball straight into the ground!!!  The runner on 3rd scored and we won on that error.

The 1st Saturday game was the Quarter-Finals vs Masterbatters (C Division).  We won 14-3.

The next game was the Semi-Finals vs Don Cherry's (B Division). Won 15-14 in a game where the Umpire made some erroneous calls.  The umpire's call is final and he explained his calls.  The other team was extremely unhappy and some of them were poor sports about it at the end.

In the Finals we played Risktakers (B Division).  We lost 20-8.  I think we could have beaten them, but our team looked really tired.  We were playing our 5th game in 3 days and our 3rd that day.  The player I was talking to on Risktakers told me it was their 2nd game that day since 12:30.

We finished in 2nd place.  I can't believe we made it to the finals.  We are a C division team and we faced 2 C teams and 3 B teams to get there.  We got there with only half the core players too.  If we had our standard roster, we could have taken it.

Food this weekend ->
Made spaghetti Saturday night after the games.  It was late and I was tempted to go to Rideau or Kanata Noodle House, but I didn't.

On Sunday I scrambled 5 eggs and added a can of tuna.  I was tired and my legs were too sore to stand and cook.

Match 1 Loss

Useless Softball News:
We lost our 1st tournament game today against "The Crew", 20-2.  We only gave up one 10 run inning.  I was told they used to be an A-division team that dropped to B division this year, so we were expected to lose.  Plus we wanted to lose so we can stay in the C-Division bracket.
Even though we lost, we had some good plays:
- Dave (SS) to Alex (1st) double play.
- Alex (1st) to Fongpay (C) for an almost double play.  The guy turned around and went back to 3rd before crossing the commit line.  I almost did the splits in order to catch the ball AND keep my foot on home plate.  It would have been an awesome out.
I hit 1-for-1 today with a single and 2 walks.  Playoff Game 2 will be Friday night.
LOL1: I missed played one of Gary's pitches and popped the ball up over my head.  The umpire trying to catch it with a downward grab, somehow spiked it into his own groin!  LOL
LOL2: For some reason Alex kept yelling out "there's 2 away", when there was only 1 out; and one time there were 0 outs.  What game was he playing?
