"Pre-chewed" texture

Dinner today -> Congee.
Susanna and I went to the Revlon sale at the Nepean Sportsplex tonight.  I bought a toilet & bath memory foam mat package.  We hit T&T afterwards and picked up some discount food.  I got congee with pork and preserved egg, beef tendons, and black pepper short ribs.  The congee was excellent.  As was the beef tendon.  The short ribs were weird.  They were too tender and became mush in my mouth.  It didn't feel like meat and I didn't really need to chew it.  It had a "pre-chewed" texture.

Useless Gaming News:
I was hoping to play Tiny Epic Galaxies today at lunchtime, but we ended up playing 5-player Forbidden Desert.
Tiny Epic Galaxies.
We won on Normal difficulty with some luck and with the aid of the Water Carrier adventurer.

Liver and Eggo Waffles.

Drink today -> Monster Iced Tea and Lemonade.
Couldn't fall asleep last night til 3am.  I needed a kick and I got the Monster Iced Tea and Lemonade energy drink from Steve.  It tastes pretty good.  Maybe abit too sweet, but it was tasty.
Monster Energy Drink.

Lunch today -> Liver and Eggo Waffles.
FYI: Liver and peanut butter topped Eggo waffles do not go together.  I thought the sweet and savoury would work together, but it doesn't.  Not at all.
Liver and Eggos.

Dinner today -> Chili.
Heated some frozen corn, added pan fried zucchini, a can of Chunky chili, and cubed tomatoes.  Instant dinner.

Useless Gaming News:
Wednesday gaming night after work.  We started with 4-player Forbidden Desert.  We found all the parts to the airship and won on easy, but it was all due to the water carrier ability.  I'm sure we would have lost without him.
Forbidden Desert
We played 1 round of Wok Star afterwards.  We lost by $2!  It was mainly due to the bad timing for the events cards to be drawn.

Devastator!

Dinner today -> Liver and Zucchini
Wasn't sure what to make for dinner until I got to Sobey's after work.  The beef liver looked good.  Bought that and pan fried it in butter to a medium rare.  Made a side of zucchini in the leftover pan drippings and butter.

Useless Transformers News:
Got the awesome Transformers Combiner Wars Devastator delivered today from Toys R Us.  Been waiting forever for Costco to stock it, but Toys R Us beat them too it and with a cheaper price too.

Customs Fee for Cheapass Games

Lunch today -> Burger King.
I saw the commercial for the special Halloween Whopper on TV last night.  So I went to get one today, but the staff had no idea about it.  I guess it's a USA and Japan only thing.  Too bad.  So I just bought a couple Whopper Jrs and 30 chicken nuggets.
Not Halloween Whopper.

Useless Gaming News:
I got my copy of Lord of the Fries.
Lord of the Fries.
I also got Dead Money and Give me the Brain as extras.
Not So Cheap, Cheapass Games.
BUT I had to pay $30 in customs! (because it went through CardKingdom as the distributor.)  Brian also had $30 in customs for his copies.  The customs fee didn't make the Kickstarter worth it.  It would have been cheaper to order games online from Toronto (Meeplemart/GreatBoardGames/401Games).  It sucks that I have another KickStarter going through CardKingdom too, instead of the backer friendly Snakes and Lattes.  I won't be backing any more Cheapass Games.

Weekend Report: 3 Gideons

Food this weekend ->
Bought some pork and preserved egg congee from T&T.  I also got some BBQ pork and fried shrimps.  I topped the congee with them.  Very good, but he shrimp could be more spicy.
Congee.
I pan fried and steamed a chunk of big head fish.  It was OK, but it is better just steamed.

Useless Gaming News:
4 Player gaming Friday night.  Started with River Dragons, then a big game of Castles of Burgundy.  We played the beginner maps and everyone was in it, until Jeff pulled away with the lead and didn't look back.  We finished the night with a few rounds of Biblios.
Castles of Burgundy.
Went to Geek Market and Gaming Expo Saturday night.  The Geek Market was big with lots of merchants, but none of them had very good deals.  I was surprised to see Smash Up: Munchkin for sale, but it was $44.  Online is $30.
Afterwards, 5-player gaming at Brian's.  The new game was Colt Express.  It's pretty fun.  It's got 3D trains and meeple to represent the train and players.  It plays similar to Roborally where moves are played ahead of time and then resolved.  The object is to collect money and shoot the other robbers while avoiding the sheriff and the train hazards.  Even-though we played this as 5-players and 4-players, I think this game is best suited for 6-players.

Useless M:tG News:
Picked up the new Battle for Zendikar cards on Friday.  The Fat Packs are a hot commodity.  They contain the highly sought after full art land cards.
Battle for Zendikar Cards.
Busy weekend, so I've only opened the packs from the Fat Pack, Pre-release Pack, and about 1/3 of a Booster Box.  Out of those packs I've already pulled 3 "Gideon, Ally of Zendikar" cards ($50 value each).  I hope to pull an Expedition card ($250-$500 value).

Must Be Now

Useless Idol News:
NMB48's new single "Must Be Now" is released next week.  Great song.  From the video, it seems more like NMB48 featuring Yamamoto Sayaka than just an NMB48 song.
